Bronze Pearl

Bite Beauty Bronze Pearl Creme Lip Gloss ($22.00 for 0.14 fl. oz.) is a rich, chocolaty brown with warm, reddish undertones and lots of gold and copper pearl. It had semi-opaque color coverage that applied fairly evenly, and the shimmer/sparkle distributed well. The consistency was smooth, mostly non-tacky, and comfortable to wear over the five hours it lasted on me.

The Creme Lip Gloss is supposed to give a “modern, foiled lip look” with “pearlized color pay off” while softening the lips. The formula had a light-medium weight to it, which I think helped ensure that the shimmer didn’t feel gritty on the lips. It had a little tackiness after an hour of wear, but it was never a really sticky or goopy gloss on. The wear was anywhere from four to five hours, and the formula felt hydrating to me. They had a really strong, mirror-like finish that made them more wearable on their own, as it was hard to notice any imperfections in the coverage. They also worked well layered over various lipsticks (both Bite’s lipsticks as well as other brands’ formulas) for adding shine and sparkle. The gloss had a sweet, fruity scent–the same one found in other Bite lip products.

Oyster Pearl

Bite Beauty Oyster Pearl Creme Lip Gloss ($22.00 for 0.14 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium-dark plummy brown with flecks of pink, copper, and teal pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly across the lips with even shimmer distribution. The texture was smooth, lighter weight, and comfortable to wear as it was just barely tacky and was hydrating while worn. This particular shade is a fun one to layer over other products, as the teal flecks add a cooler dimension. It lasted for five hours on me.

Peacock Pearl

Bite Beauty Peacock Pearl Creme Lip Gloss ($22.00 for 0.14 fl. oz.) has a blackened brown base with cool, teal pearl. This is the type of color that would work well to deepen any underlying lip color, and since this shade did not go on as evenly as I would have liked on its own, it was one that worked best layered over other products (or a lip liner). It had semi-opaque color coverage, which was somewhat buildable, and a slightly thinner texture compared to the other shades in the range. I saw a touch of color that settled into my deeper lip lines (more noticeable on my bottom lip), but the mirror-like shine made it harder to notice at a normal viewing distance. It wore well for five hours and was lightly hydrating.

Christine you look absolutely stunning with the eye-combo you created and Bronze Pearl!

I really love the look of these glosses! I may try to grab one or two when I go to Canada this summer. Hopefully, they will stay permanent :D!

Lacey Avatar

Oops. Added one to my wishlist from the sneak peek post instead of narrowing it down. Might need all of these for layering.

I’m not against matte lips, but I’m always going to be a sparkle girl at heart.

The Peacock Pearl Lip Gloss is calling my name. It’s like as if they took the MAC blue brown pigment and made it into a lipgloss…which I totally plan on trying now that I have seen this. It’s sooo unique! It would be beautiful topped on a black lipstick.

Nancy T Avatar

Oyster and Peacock are officially on my wishlist! Oyster looks like nothing I’ve ever seen in a gloss, but that it has some *sort of* dupes I guess means that some brands have tried to get to this level of awesomeness? But not quite!
For the very reasons that Peacock graded lower, are precisely why I love it. My thought has been to use it over a deep burgundy-brown lipstick for a kick-butt duochrome lip effect. It will give new springtime into summer life to MAC Deep Love and UD Disturbed, possibly even Troublemaker!

Zoe Avatar

I am so glad you reviewed these because they look amazing and it’s good to know they aren’t just a gimmick!
Oyster Pearl and Peacock are my faves from the range.

I tried out Peacock Pearl but it didn’t give me joy the same way the Gold one from holiday 16 did. It went back. I do still love my gold one though!

Aj Avatar

These look great! Even Peacock Pearl, while could be improved it still looks good to me. And it’s a fun color I haven’t seen yet on the lips. I like that are even more options for fun colors on the lips.

janine Avatar

Thanks for the reviews! I got the champagne pearl which looks like gold to me and love the texture/emollient quality. I was alittle disappointed in the sheen (solid gold) but I’m gonna buy the pink and maybe the oyster. It’s fun to layer.

Georgia Avatar

These are SO metallic! Think ’60s frosted lip look. Not a good look on me. I returned both the Bronze and the Champagne. The Sephora sales associate gasped at how frosted they were when I returned them. She didn’t like them either.

The oyster and peacock pearls are in my cart. They are absolutely stunning!!!!! I will have to make peacock work. Maybe using a primer underneath will help it go on more smoothly. It’s a definite must have!!!!
