Quick Eyes with NARS Grand Palais Eyeshadow Duo
In an effort to show how wearable the rosy shade was in Grand Palais, I used the duo in a quickie look before I did lip swatches for NARS’ fall lip products.
You will need the following…
- Eyes: NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base (primer), NARS Grand Palais Eyeshadow Duo (taupe / dusty mulberry), Burberry Trench Eyeshadow (highlighter), NARS Rue Bonaparte Larger Than Life Eyeliner (nude), NARS Via Appia Larger Than Life Eyeliner (coppery brown), Hourglass Film Noir Mascara (black)
- Face: Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation (02/03), Guerlain Les Violettes Mineral Powder (03)
- Cheeks: NARS Cassandre Cream Blush (plum)
- Lips: NARS Pago Pago Lipstick (pinked nude)
- Brushes: 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 222 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pencil brush), 188 (small, circular stippling brush)
For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof all over the lid and above the crease with the 249 to lay down your eyeshadow base. Apply the taupe shade all over the lid with the 239, and then lightly sweep and diffuse the muted mulberry shade into the crease with the 222. Diffuse the crease edge with Trench eyeshadow using the 217. Next, apply Rue Bonaparte eyeliner on the lower water line and Via Appia eyeliner on the lower lash line. Coat lashes with Film Noir mascara to finish the look.
For cheeks, apply Cassandre on the apples of the cheeks and sweep towards the temple with the 188.
For lips, apply Pago Pago lipstick for a complementing lip.

Yellow, Orange, Coral with MAC Big Bounce & Fashion Flower
This is a look I did last week to test out the MAC Big Bounce eyeshadow for twelve hours. For reference, you really don’t need Fresh Daisy in this look. I initially wanted to use it in the inner corner (and you can see a very little bit), but it was just too stark against my skin tone so I covered most of it with Bright Sunshine.
You will need the following…
- Eyes: MAC Reward Yourself Big Bounce Eyeshadow (olive green), MAC Fresh Daisy Eyeshadow (warm white), MAC Bright Sunshine Eyeshadow (bright yellow with shimmer), MAC Rule Eyeshadow (orange), MAC Free to Be Eyeshadow (coral), Burberry Trench Eyeshadow (highlighter), Urban Decay Bourbon 24/7 Liner (brown), Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash (black)
- Face: Make Up For Ever HD Foundation (140), Burberry Pressed Powder (03)
- Cheeks: MAC Springsheen Blush (pinky-peach)
- Lips: MAC Ever Hip Lipstick (coral-pink), Cle de Peau #2 Lipgloss (pink-peach)
- Brushes: 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 222 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pencil brush), 188 (small, circular stippling brush)
- Substitutes: Fresh Daisy = Nylon; Ever Hip = Crosswires (not a great dupe!)
For eyes, start by applying Reward Yourself eyeshadow all over the lid and above the crease with the 242. Apply Fresh Daisy eyeshadow to the inner tearduct with the 239. Next, apply Bright Sunshine eyeshadow to the middle of the lid with the 239. Gently blend Rule eyeshadow to the outer third of the lid and into the crease with the 239. Darken the crease with Free to Be eyeshadow using the 222.
For cheeks, apply Springsheen blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply Ever Hip lipstick and top with #2 lipgloss for a complementing lip.

MAC Wonder Woman Look: Defiance
Just because it can be made to work… doesn’t mean it is worth buying. I really had to pack on the color to get it to show, and there was some issues with blending, because the shades were so stiff. I maintain my recommendation of “no buy” to the fullest!
You will need the following…
- Eyes: NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base (neutral eyeshadow base), MAC Defiance Eyeshadow (pale frosted pink), MAC Paradise Island Eyeshadow (petal pink), MAC Star Studded Eyeshadow (plummed pink), MAC Real Drama Eyeshadow (burgundy brown), Burberry Trench Eyeshadow, Urban Decay Perversion 24/7 Liner (black), MAC Victorious Opulash Mascara (purple)

For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Paradise Island eyeshadow on the inner half of the lower lid. Lightly blend Star Studded eyeshadow onto the outer third of the lid and crease with the 222. Apply Defiance eyeshadow on the inner tear duct and crease with the 239. Blend Trench eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Perversion on the lower lash line. For cheeks, apply Mighty Aphrodite blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply Spitfire lipstick first, then layer Wonder Woman lipglass for a complementing lip.

Quick & Easy Spring Look
I needed to do something soft enough to wear with a variety of lip colors, as I was doing some swatching, and I didn’t want to spend too long on it either — this is the result. The weather lately has been wreaking havoc on my skin, though — SO DRY!
