Look: Neutral with a ColourPOP! of Teal
Neutral with a ColourPOP! of Teal
EYES
I applied the eyeshadows using two MAC 242 brushes (flat, synthetic eye brushes), Makeup Geek Small Crease Brush (small, tapered synthetic), and IT Cosmetics All-Over Shadow Brush (fluffy, synthetic). I applied ColourPop Puppy Love Super Shock Shadow on the inner half of the lid with the 242 brush, and then I layered ColourPop So Quiche Super Shock Shadow over the middle third of the lid. I used the second 242 brush to apply ColourPop Ibiza Super Shock Shadow on the outer third of the lid and lightly buffing into the crease (but not past it). Next, I applied ColourPop Kimono Super Shock Shadow in the outer crease and smudged along the outermost corner of the lid with Makeup Geek Small Crease Brush. I applied Stila Mint Julep Smudge Stick Eyeliner on the lower waterline and between lashes, then I applied Sephora My Boyfriend’s Jeans Contour Pencil on the lower lash line. I layered ColourPop Ibiza on the inner half and ColourPop Kimono on the outer half of the lower lash line. I wore Dior Diorshow Mascara on lashes.
FACE
After I finished applying my eye makeup, I applied a mix of Guerlain Parure Gold Foundation in 02 and 03 (about 2/3 and 1/3). I applied ColourPop Santos Super Shock Cheek on cheeks as a blush with fingertips. To set and buff everything in (I also toned down the cheek color I had on) with Guerlain Les Voilettes Loose Powder in 03.
LIPS
I applied Guerlain Garance Rouge G Lipstick all over lips, and then I patted on MAC Spanking Haute Vamplify Lipgloss (mostly for warmth; the lipstick was pinker than I wanted for the look!).

You look beautiful!
Thank you, Lily! Happy Christmas to you and the boys!
Same to you and the handsome Mellan!
Love iiiiitttttt. I may do something like this for NYE because I’m wearing a bright blue dress. I was going to do traditional silvers, because I don’t normally do matchy matchy, but now I’m thinking it would be fun. Maybe silver on the upper lid and blue on the lower lash line.
Thanks, Ginny! 😀 I bet silver and blue would rock together!!
That’s super summer-y!
I could see that!
Breathtakingly beautiful !
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones Christine XOXO 🙂
Thank you, Rashmi 😀 Happy holidays!!
Wow, I’m amazed at your blending skills! Love the bold teal eyes with the neutral lips, a very brightening look
Thanks a lot, Katherine!
Gorgeous!
Thanks, Alice!
Love this! I shy away from blue eyeshadow usually but this makes me want to try it.
Yay! You could also try similar colors with horizontal placement with the blue along the upper lash line so it almost acts as an eyeliner, too.
Such a beautiful look! I really miss you doing posts like this, since they are the reason I began reading your site to begin with! Please do more!!! Merry Christmas to you, your hubby and to Mellan!
Thank you, Sparkle! 🙂
Happy holidays!! xoxo
There’s the secret to how to wear taupe and teal in ones eye look: the addition of a vivid blue, and a much quieter, neutral lip color!
Note to self : do NOT wear CP Boogie Lippy Stick with teal & taupe eyes! Just NO.
Although as Boogie faded, I actually really loved the eye look right as it was time to take it off for bedtime!
Well, you could still wear it with Boogie, and it would still rock ;D Pfft!
Hahaha, crazy minds think alike! I love the teal micro-shimmers in Boogie Nights, and was trying to figure out how to do a teal eye to echo them, without looking like I fell out of an ’80s time warp 😉 Still haven’t tried it yet, but I think I have to either tone down the teal eye (maybe teal liner or do soft pop of teal) or tone down Boogie. I noticed that MAC Ascent of Glamour and The Moon is Blue also have teal micro-shimmers, but those are such bold shadows, and Boogie is so bold too!
Yep! I think I went too soft with the eye doing it the way I did it, or just too lacking in color coordination? I used MUFE Olive Gray on lid, Pearl in inner corner, MAC Kid as transition shade, darkened crease with Cool Compliment and Quiet Type, bright teal Nyx liner, with MAC Ascent Of Glamour over outer half of liner, and that bright teal in the MUFE 15. This would’ve worked, I believe, if my eyes were darker. Boogie overwhelmed my eye look!
Your eye look sounds great! I think you’re right, a neutral lip would’ve pulled it all together and not competed with the bolder eye. I love it though when Boogie fades because the teal micro-shimmers pop 🙂
NOT Ascent Of Glamour, but Tonight’s The Night ( the teal one )! Sorry for any confusion, Katherine!
You look lovely and like the look! The blues makes you eyes look amazing 🙂
Thanks, Angelica!
I love an eye look with some bold colors ??
Me too 😀
Looks lovely, but I’d hardly call this neutral with a pop of color! More like color with a pop of neutral 😛 🙂
Haha! It’s technically two-thirds neutral, I swear!
Gorgeous! I love it! You always look beautiful ! What is Colour Pop Santos from? I’m not remembering that one.
It came out a couple of weeks ago! Mine just arrived maybe 3-4 days ago? Getting around to reviewing it now!
Oh, I found it! Can’t wait for your review!
Happy Holidays to you & yours Christine!
Wow – what a blue look! I love it – it is gorgeous.
Happy Christmas Christine to you and your family. I hope you will be able to see them since you have moved to Phoenix. Enjoy your day.
Thank you, Genevieve! 😀 Happy Christmas to you and your family!
You create such nice blue looks!
Thanks, Cat!
Lovely look. I really love the vibrant colours. Almos everyone I see these days wear nude-y eyemakeup, I love seing some colour.
And this comes from someone (me) wearing Half-Baked all over the lids black liner and red lipstick, MAC Red. After all, it’s Christmas.
Merry Christmas Christine and all others here. Thank you for working so hard, Christine, keeping us informed.
Merry Christmas, Helene! Hope you had a good one 🙂
I like the mint eyeliner on the waterline with the blue shadows. Very pretty.
LOVE Mint Julep!
Love this look. I especially like the neutrals and multiple blue eye colors. Very creative in a wearable way.
Thanks a lot, Susan!
Pretty, pretty, pretty! I’ll say it again, but I love that you’re posting these “looks” again. Fantastic!
Thanks so much, Christina!
Gorgeous! I’m so trying to duplicate it!
Yay!
