Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Rock Steady Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “deep wine red cream.” It’s a deepened, dark burgundy red with warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation, but you could see my lip freckle peeking through, though the lipstick applied smoothly and evenly (not always the case with these darker, glossier shades). The texture had moderate slip, so if feathering is something you often experience, you may want to use a lip liner with this one (I didn’t have feathering myself, but it doesn’t happen frequently to me). The color wore well for five hours and left a stain behind, while the formula was comfortable to wear and hydrating. Urban Decay Rock Steady (DC, $18.00) is glossier (95% similar). Too Faced Melted Velvet (P, $21.00) is lighter (95% similar). NARS Hell Gate (LE, $28.00) is glossier (90% similar). Besame Red Velvet 1946 (PiP, $22.00) is lighter, less glossy (90% similar). Besame Cherry Red 1935 (PiP, $22.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Bite Beauty Mulled Maple (LE, $24.00) is darker (85% similar). Bobbi Brown Red Velvet (DC, $37.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Ravageur (P, $54.00) is lighter, glossier (85% similar). Bite Beauty Tannin (DC, $26.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Guerlain Luxure (DC, $49.50) is less glossy (90% similar). Bite Beauty Black Cherry (LE, $24.00) is darker (85% similar). Urban Decay Mrs. Mia Wallace (DC, $18.00) is lighter, warmer (80% similar). Givenchy Grenat Initie (307) (P, $36.00) is lighter, brighter (80% similar). Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Spiderweb Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “satin red cream.” It’s a bright, medium red with neutral-to-cool undertones. It looks warmer against my complexion, as I find neutral reds often do, but I expect it to pull a little cooler against those with naturally cool undertones. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a light-medium consistency that applied well and sat nicely on the lips. This shade wore well for six hours, left a stain behind, and was hydrating. Bobbi Brown Retro Red (DC, $37.00) is warmer (95% similar). Cle de Peau Dragon Red (P, $65.00) is darker (95% similar). Shiseido Poppy (RD312) (DC, $28.00) is warmer (95% similar). Burberry Military Red (P, $34.00) is warmer (95% similar). MAC Yoni Crush (LE, $19.00) is darker (95% similar). MAC Fireworks (DC, $21.00) is cooler (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Rouge Fatal (LE, $57.00) is warmer (95% similar). Urban Decay Spiderweb (DC, $18.00) is glossier (95% similar). Buxom Provocateur (DC, $21.00) is cooler, glossier (95% similar). Chanel Carmin (LE, $37.00) is darker, glossier (95% similar). Urban Decay F-Bomb (DC, $22.00) is warmer, less glossy (95% similar). Make Up For Ever C404 (DC, $22.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). ColourPop Snow White (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer (90% similar). Guerlain Rouge Parade (820) (DC, $58.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). Hourglass Innovator (P, $32.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). NARS Future Red (LE, $26.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier (90% similar). Guerlain Gilda (DC, $58.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Shiseido Code Red (221) (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). MAC Audacious (P, $23.00) is brighter (90% similar). Anna Sui Minnie Mouse (01) (LE, ) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Wonderland Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “dark pink-red cream.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark fuchsia-red with subtle, bluish-pink undertones and satin finish. It had intense, fully opaque coverage with a smooth, creamy consistency that wasn’t too thick or too thin that glided across the lips with ease. On me, the formula was moisturizing while lasting for five and a half hours. Urban Decay Wonderland (DC, $18.00) is more pigmented (95% similar). Urban Decay Catfight (DC, $22.00)(95% similar). Bite Beauty Crianza (DC, $28.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC Party Parrot (LE, $19.00) is less glossy (90% similar). MAC Lasting Passion (P, $22.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Dressed to Kill (P, $57.00) is darker, less pigmented (85% similar). Estee Lauder Tumultuous Pink (P, $32.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Guerlain Gourmandise (DC, $49.50) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Guerlain Rose Grenat (864) (DC, $58.00) is cooler (90% similar). Urban Decay Psycho (DC, $18.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Chanel Histoire (206) (P, $37.00) is warmer (85% similar). Sephora Love Letter (11) (P, $13.00) is darker, more muted, cooler (85% similar). Guerlain Insolence (144) (DC, $37.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Givenchy Rouge Egerie (305) (P, $36.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

So grateful for your reviews on these. I am really trying to be disciplined and narrow down which ones I want to buy based on your reviews and my current stash (I don’t want too many dupes). So far, I’m leaning toward Phone Call and Wonderland. I’ve actually liked all of them so far except Ex-B but, my goal is to actually use the products I buy in 2016 rather than use once and end up giving away and replacing with a similar/dupe in a newer release.

I reeeeeally don’t think I need these but I reeeeeally want these. All of them. And I hate that it’s all because it’s Gwen Stefani LE stuff. I love her but I never felt impulsed to by something because of who is behind it. UNTIL NOW :-/. Pretty colors and finishes but I may have to pass. ORRRRRRR maybe just get one…

Ray Avatar

I’m enjoying all of the cool undertones in this collection. It’s like they went out of their way to make sure everyone could find a good red/hot pink.

THAT is the level of care and quality I expect from a high-end brand when working with a recognizable celeb.

Rock Steady goes directly to the wish list. Lovely colour and I don’t have any of the dupes. I have F-Bomb, so I’ll skip Spiderweb. I’m not sure about Wonderland, and that means I’ll pass on it. I can oly bear my ban for products I’m sure I’ll love. New rule, I mean I can’t let this LE just pass me by. 🙂

Ughhhh Rock Steady has me so tempted. I have Givenchy Grenat Initie (307), but they were not so overly similar in the side-by-side. I have so many reds, what am I doing! At least I wear them a lot. I just love how glossy, dark, and cool this shade is. This has been an awesome collection of lip products and blushes.

I’m excited for the lip pencil reviews as well, though the Urban Decay lip pencil formula was a bit too soft and comes off too easily for me (I actually like MAC lip pencils better because they are practically glued onto my lips).

All of these are gorgeous and I like that they’re only $18. I will probably end up getting one or two just because I can’t resist although I probably already have very similar colors! These look great on you, thanks for the review!

Allie Avatar

I so do not need ANY of these, but they just look so gorgeous. I went from maybe Firebird and 714 to Plaid, Wonderland, Rocky Steady, 714 and Firebird. I’m a little worried about slip and the color running all over the place. I’m not really (at all) a liner girl…should I be worried about these?

Can’t wait to see 714 and Firebird!

Nomie Avatar

Aw man, I really wanted Spiderweb just for the name – that song was hugely important to middle-school me – but I already have F-Bomb and it’s so similar… dang!

Fran Avatar

I love Wonderland! It’s my kind of color, but I don’t have any close dupe, so, perfect for my wish list 🙂 I’m going to check out the matching pencil, too. Rock Steady looks like the kind of warm red that’s deep enough to look good on me, I’m definitely going to check it out. Spiderweb is a tricky kind of color for me. If it’s sheer enough, my mauve-y, dusky purple-ish lip color might come through, making it definitely a cool red I can wear; but, if it’s more opaque, what usually happens with neutral reds and pinks on me is that they look warm in contrast to the coolness of my undertones. When that happens, dark-enough reds can look good on me, but medium and light reds that look warm don’t look good on me, really. They just look wrong, somehow. Orange, almost, when they should be red. So I’ll wait for my local ULTA or Sephora to get it, clean off the tester myself (my local stores are used to me, lol), and try it out — it’s always fun, you never know what something might look like until you try!

Sami Avatar

Rock Steady looks reaaaalllly similar to UD’s Mia Wallace from the Pulp Fiction collection, which is my most absolute favorite red…how do they compare?

Amanda Avatar

Do you think it’s silly to buy Spiderweb because that was one of my favorite No Doubt songs growing up? I think Rock Steady would look better on my skin tone, and I don’t really need another red lipstick, but childhood…

Christine Avatar

If you wear it, love it, and enjoy it, then no. If you have the disposable income and will enjoy just having it, then no. If you forego a meal to have something you won’t use but just keep in a drawer, then maybe that’s when you really think about the other reds you have 🙂

Casey Avatar

I caved into the hype and wanted to try a glossy cream red lipstick since I’ve been wearing only red mattes. I got spiderweb and all I can say it’s gorgeous! Cute and flirty glossy finish. I also wear too faced lip insurance so it’ll probably help lessen transfer

Casey Avatar

Can rock steady be compared to bad blood? I got spiderweb and its a great sexy glossy true red on me (I’m cool toned btw and it looked true, not too cool or warm) and I love the bad blood shade so I’m wondering if it’s also a dupe to rock steady

Casey Avatar

I gave my tube of spiderweb lipstick to my mom to wear to a roaring 20s party and she tried it, very good color on her as it brightened her face and brought out her eyes. Mind you she’s 60 but she rocked the color lol.
