Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Eyeshadow Palette
Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Eyeshadow Palette ($36.00 for 0.39 oz.) contains nine eyeshadows in a travel-friendly palette. Three of them are larger, while six are smaller. The majority of the palette are warmer neutrals, though there’s that pop of violet for some color. I liked the palette, and it was actually one of the brand’s better-applying ones for me–only one shade was really problematic. The colors are dupable, so I imagine it’s not a must-have for everyone, but it’s worth checking out if you like your warmer neutrals. The palette has a nutty, chocolaty scent that I don’t really notice on, but it is present whenever I have the palette open.
Quick note: normally ingredients are listed on the cardboard packaging, but it looks like it must be in the pamphlet — luckily, Too Faced also lists them online here.
Spread the Love is described as a “medium peach with gold sparkle.” It’s a light-medium, peachy orange with a dusting of gold sparkle over a mostly matte finish. It looks mostly matte on the lid, as the sparkles tended to disappear when blended or get trapped in the brush. It had good color payoff with a soft, smooth, and lightly dusty consistency. The color wore well for seven and a half hours on me. Anastasia Soft Peach (P, $12.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty The Dreamer #5 (PiP, ) is less shimmery, lighter (95% similar). LORAC Dunes (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Jammin’ is described as a “dark chocolate with golden sparkle.” It’s a muted, dark plum with warm undertones and a frosted finish. The consistency was slightly dry, and this was the one shade that applied poorly on bare skin–it looked uneven and didn’t adhere well. The color was faded after seven hours of wear. Extra Creamy is described as a “matte creamy beige.” It’s a light beige with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff with a lightly dry, dusty consistency that sheered out easily. This one was difficult to apply with true-to-pan intensity without a primer underneath it. I have stupid levels of excitement for this palette. It’s annoying that it’s only available to people in the US via Ulta, but one of my friends has a US address, so she ordered some for us and will be bringing them up to Canada shortly. I CANNOT WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON IT!
I can’t wait for you to get yours, Chelle!
Am I the only one who’s not crazy about this package? The colors are beautiful and I’m enjoying playing with it so far. I loved the look you created with it.
Thank you! 🙂
I love PBJ sandwiches, but the shadows are way too warm and orangey for me, also wish the purples had more ooomph. When it comes to their latest shadow palettes, Too Faced isn’t giving us cool-toned gals much love 🙁 Almost all of them run very warm, The Chocolate ones, this PBJ one, and the Peach one coming up this summer looks the warmest of them all
I do wish the purple was REALLY intense!
It’s already sold out at TooFaced.com , so I’m schlepping myself over to Ulta today to get one. I’m glad it reviewed well!
Wow! That was fast.
I had already decided to pass on this palette but I was curious to see what you thought of it. After reading your review, my first thought was that I find it interesting how so many brands are really struggling with their darker shades recently. Thanks for your review!
No problem, Michele!
I was pleasantly surprised by this palette. I love it! I normally prefer cooler tones and I thought it would be too orange-y for me, but it’s not. The quality is very good, not like the stuff TF rushes out around the holidays.
It is of higher quality than anticipated, so that was nice! 🙂
Every time I see this palette I get the Peanut Butter Jelly Time song from Adventure Time in my head.
Love the shade but I feel like I own them.
Haha! Me too 🙂
Yep I must have this one!
Yay!
This seems like a great palette. People will complain that they don’t like the theme, that it’s too childish. Too Faced has always been a cutesy company and it that is what has always been what makes it unique. I think there are many inferior palettes to this and I think many people are going to enjoy this item. The colors are very useable and the quality is better than I expected. Looks great!
If one likes warmer neutrals, I can see them liking this!
I just bought it. I will have to see but the colors look nice!
Keep us posted, Judi!
I’m glad this did good. I do wish Too Faced would step it up a bit with the shadows. They seem to pull me over the fence with their cutesy packaging and I like the idea of having a go to palette like this. I ordered it on Sun. I guess I will try it out. But, it is certainly dupable. So, I could see where this could be a possible not “must -have”. I’m not sure. i may wind up returning.
Keep us posted on how you like it when you get a chance to see it, Nicole!
I will! 🙂
Too Faced’s shadows seem to perform better on my eyes than any other brands for some reason, and I love warm browns, so I am definitely getting this! I love that they included so many mattes for a small palette.
Lucky you ;D Enjoy the palette!
I think they should have put Peanut Butter in one of the big pans, since it’s the palette’s “anchor shade.” Anyway, a very cute, fun palette even if it is mostly neutral. I “copy-catted” a similar look using my singles to see how I would like “PB&J Eyes” (MUG Peach Smoothie, Desert Sands, Creme Brulee, Cocoa Bear, MAC Stars and Rockets on the bottom with a little MUG Drama Queen, and Mary Loumanizer on the inner corner). I did really like it….. but now I don’t feel the need to buy the palette lol.
That is such a good point, Ginny! I wonder why they didn’t do that.
That palette is entirely too warm (for me) – but Jammin’ and Jelly are lovely colors!
It is a very warm-toned set of shades!
Looks very pigmented, but this one is a pass for me. I’m trying to shop my stash when it comes to eyeshadow palettes. Super pretty eye look, as usual 🙂
It did better than the average TF palette, I think, when it came to pigmentation!
It does seem like a fun palette for warm-skinned girls. If only Jelly could be in a cooler toned palette then I’d be a happy girl!
I’d love to see TF do something cool-toned after all these warm neutral palettes!
I’m usually all about cool tones too, and I thought their latest Chocolate Bar palette, Bon Bons, had plenty of cool tones. Lots of pink, which I love.
Still getting this PB&J palette for summer!
I don’t really care for the color combo but I can warm toned blue eyed folk loving this one.
I hear ya, Erin — it is not a combo for all!
Christine, do you have any ideas if this is going to be released internationally?
No idea, sorry!
It’s a really good quality palette, but four of the colours are really orangey – which would only suit certain complexions. The aroma of peanut butter can either attract or alienate potential buyers. It’s not for me.
It’s definitely a very warm-toned palette!
This palette is gorgeous! I love the shadow colours and the formula too!
Awesome!
Not my shades, although Jelly is very pretty — I’m glad Too Faced did a good job with this palette.
Me too! A pleasant surprise!
I wonder how the peanut butter fragrance fares for people with peanut allergies… not that it matters for me, luckily! Very cute. I might sneak a peek at Ulta this week.
ha, just kidding; I looked at the ingredients. DOESN’T CONTAIN PEANUTS. pay attention, Liz.
No peanuts in this 🙂
This is back in stock at TooFaced.com . Use code Use code MAKEUPLOVE for 20% off everything.
Thank you, Rachel! 🙂
Thank you for linking to the ingredients list – and the dupes! Since this has the same problem as their Chocolate products, namely containing sodium saccharin.
No problem, El! Sorry that it won’t work for you 🙁
Yay! Thank you so much for the review. I usually check on your inputs when I’m trying to decide. I’ve just ordered it today with a couple of on-sale items at http://www.toofaced.com 😀 So excited!!
No problem, Kimi!
Hi! I’d be curious to hear if the shades in this palette are similar to the Violet Voss palette aside from the purples?
Not sure, haven’t reviewed that!
Hi Christine!
I’m quite confused: the Too Faced website says this palette is limited edition, but your review says it’s permanent. I wanted to make sure so I can get it before it’s sold out. Thank you! 🙂
I could have sworn it was just listed as “new” before, but maybe they updated or caught it as a mistake. Ulta only lists it as new as well – both sites are usually decent about marking things as LE so I will update now as LE.
Edited to add: if I’m unsure, I always put LE instead of permanent, because that’s the safer route!
