Too Faced It’s Happening Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick
Too Faced It’s Happening Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 fl. oz.) is described as a “matte bright magenta.” It’s a bright, medium fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a matte finish. It had good color payoff with a thin formula that applied smoothly and evenly. It dried down to a totally flat, matte finish that was slightly powdery-feeling. The color lasted for five hours and was drying while worn. ColourPop Mars (DC, $6.50) is darker, more muted, warmer (90% similar). MAC Pleasure Bomb (LE, $19.00) is glossier (90% similar). MAC Moxie (LE, $19.00) is glossier (90% similar). ColourPop Pin Wheel (LE, $6.50) is cooler (90% similar). Guerlain #61 (P, $33.00) is glossier (90% similar). Too Faced Lady Balls Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 fl. oz.) is described as a “matte true red.” It’s a deep red with cool, blue undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff that applied fairly smoothly, but there were very subtle streaks that didn’t go away after it dried down. I don’t think they’re visible, as the color is bright and dark enough to hide them at a normal viewing distance. The texture was dry to the touch, a little powdery, and clingy. It lasted for five and a half hours, which made it one of the better-wearing shades. The formula was moderately drying. MAC Feels So Grand (P, $21.00) is darker (95% similar). Sephora Always Red (PiP, $14.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). Dior 999 Matte (999) (P, $35.00) is lighter (95% similar). ColourPop Creeper (DC, $6.50) is cooler (90% similar). Tarte Bae (P, $20.00) is darker, glossier (90% similar). NARS Don't Stop (P, $26.00) is warmer (95% similar). Milani Desire (LE, $8.99) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Makeup Geek Beauty Queen (P, $12.00) is glossier (95% similar). Anastasia Ruby (P, $18.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC Wild Memories (LE, $19.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). MAC High Heels (LE, $21.00) is lighter (90% similar). NARS Lesbos (LE, $27.00) is lighter (90% similar). Chanel Camelia Rouge (357) (LE, $40.00) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). Givenchy Rouge Stiletto (P, $37.00) is more muted (90% similar). Milani Romance (LE, $8.99) is darker, more muted, cooler (90% similar). MAC RiRi Woo (LE, $19.00) is cooler (95% similar). NARS Mysterious Red (P, $27.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Giorgio Armani Lucky Red (403) (P, $38.00) is darker, cooler (95% similar). ColourPop Lucky Star (LE, $7.00) is darker, cooler, glossier (90% similar). Too Faced Rebel Heart (P, $22.00) is warmer, glossier (90% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. FORMULA OVERVIEW | Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 fl. oz.) is supposed to apply l ike a gloss but dry to “an ultra-matte, opaque finish” that is “never dry, shriveled, or cracked” that should “last for hours.” Most of the shades are unforgiving once they dry down and emphasize lip lines, look “cracked” if you smile, though they feel lighter-weight than they look. It’s one of the more unflattering liquid lipsticks I have tried as many shades highlighted lip lines, and while the lipstick itself wasn’t extremely clingy, there was a dryness present there that, at times, made my lips tingle/ache. For me, the wear was between four and six hours, as a lot of the shades faded unevenly and were faster to breakdown than the average liquid lipstick. The formula is thin, more water-like (reminded me of ColourPop’s formula but sometimes thinner) with a fairly quick dry-down time.

Lady Balls? Lady Balls?? lol!
I really love both of these on you.
Thank you!
I have a lot of pink liquid lipstick shades and can’t wait to see the dupe swatches for these
I’m sure you have some dupes then! 😀
The name is so cringe-worthy (I wish brands would stop pouring through the urban dictionary trying to find “trendy” names ), but Lady Balls is a beautiful, bold color!
It definitely doesn’t particularly organic for the brand!
So right. Sick of them trolling the UD to try to be trendy. At least KVD references are more obscure and not in your face. The upfront vulgarity of it isn’t as bothersome as the pandering, to me at least.
I’m just wondering if I’m the only person who would feel uncomfortable wearing a lipstick called Lady Balls? That just sounds so crass and unappealing to me.
I can understand that! When you go for certain types of naming schemes, they won’t appeal to everyone.
I find it apalling as well, Cat! Plus, I never knew my ovaries were bright red, either. Terrible name choice!
I’m now waiting for a cosmetic line to collaborate with Madonna and release the shade Conical Knockers.
Ha, ha, ha, ha….!!
Cat, that was a good one!!!! Then again… wasn’t that far back that Too Faced named a blush after one of her most controversial videos/songs: Justify My Love. Never know, huh? ???
No – I was wondering who would want a lipstick called Lady Balls? Really? ick
These colours are nice but the formula puts me off.
Same here, Claire – the formula has been a miss for the most part.
As beautiful as these shades look, I won’t be getting either one. Too DRY for me for one thing….and that god-awful name for the red: Lady Balls? Seriously? I would be appalled if someone said to me;”I love that lipstick you have on, what’s it called?” ?
Thank goodness for dupes!
It’s Happening is a great color. The finish isn’t too chalky either.
I’m sad there’s no link to the comparisons. I see that you still have the dupes section on the right side of the page. Did you stop doing the comparisons? Is there a different way to bring those up?
Thanks!
Sorry, Rachel, just me being an idiot and I forgot to include the portion that populates the sections. I have fixed that now.
I’m not offended by the names of products. Some of them are tacky, yes, but it wouldn’t stop me from buying a product. I wouldn’t buy these because of how they perform.
The colours are stunning but the fact that they’re not really the most forgiving lip formulas mean that there’s probably better ones out there. And also, whoever came up with the name Lady Balls… seriously!!
Miso Pretty and now Lady Balls? Come on, Too Faced. What are you doing…
I wish the formulas were as good as the colors! I love that red, but it doesn’t seem worth the buy with how it settles into lip lines like that.
The lady balls is gorgeous but why would they name it that? Sounds like a name Jeffree star would name his liquid lipstick
