Ulta Haul: Michael Todd toner, Mario Badescu toner, Stila Aqua Glow concealer, Tony Moly shet mask, Soap & Glory brightener concealer crayon, Grace Cole body scrub (never tried this brand before), Shea Moisture African Black Soap problem skin mask, Catrice concealer, and a boat load of freebies

Weekend plans: Driving up north to see my BFF. She needs the girl time.

Whatโ€™s a non-beauty blog/website you enjoy browsing?: me too! I’ve been reading a lot of Reddit posts haha

monica Avatar

I’ve tried a sample of it previously, and I really liked it. It has buildable coverage, and it doesn’t look cakey. I didn’t care for the aqua glow foundation as much. I didn’t feel like it did anything special compared to others like L’Oreal Lumi

Katherine T. Avatar

Awww, Mellan guarding the chair ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t wait to see your write ups !
*Haul – Tony Moly Timeless Snail Ferment Emulsion -my first Tony Moly product, from Hautelook sale.
*And I wore CP Petit Four outside! Mixed it with NYX Stone Cold to get a light silver gray, left it a little translucent in the middle, so a bit of my natural pink lip color peaked through. I paired it with a soft pink blush, soft gray and pastel pink shadows, and gray liner tightlined on the eyes. Was a pretty and girly look, but the gray lippie gave it some edge. Went shopping at a nice mall, and no one laughed, no one pointed, little kids didn’t run screaming away from me. In fact, I caught a couple of cute guys checking me out! I thought, not bad, 45 y/o mama, rocking a gray lip, and still turning some heads ๐Ÿ˜‰
*Weekend – family birthday brunch, relax, cook
*Non-beauty blogs – I always read the national and local news websites (cnn, nbcnews) to see what’s going on

Katherine T. Avatar

LOL! I couldn’t wear Stone Cold on its own, was too light, and it was gathering dust in my stash, until I mixed it with CP Petit Four Lip Liner to get my perfect silver gray ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you get your hands on it, you might surprise yourself in a good way. And if not, hey it’s not too pricey. Never know until you try ๐Ÿ˜‰

KJH Avatar

Thank you for linking to your blog. Ms. KT: you are certainly not too old for petit four, at all. I would have gone for it til pushing 60. Sure you looked terrific. That color rules. Totally conservative, but edgy, when it’s in an unexpected place. If I wore it, a little kid would say, ‘Look, ma! Three eyes!’

Katherine T. Avatar

Awww, don’t let age get in the way, it’s only a number. My hair is black, but I was thinking how cool a gray lippie would look with silver hair ๐Ÿ™‚

Nicole Avatar

Haha, I’m sure much effort doesn’t need to go into that!
FYI , Christine& for your sales alerts, citycolorcosmetics has 20% off site wide With the code “DUPETHAT” , you get an extra 15%..

Katherine T. Avatar

Thanks Rachel! I’m now eyeing NYX Cold Hearted, another gray that’s been sitting in my stash, but much darker, hmmmmm, we’ll see……;)

Katherine T. Avatar

Haha! The light gray silver is hard to capture on camera, and I’m a little pic shy on the internet, but I’ll see what I can do….

Fran Avatar

Good for you for wearing Petit Four! I got a compliment from a stranger when I wore mine. Now I’m looking at NYX Stone Cold Fox and thinking it looks too dark for me… am thinking of mixing it with Sway, which is too light, for a lighter purple-ish gray…

Katherine T. Avatar

Oh Fran, so good to hear from you!! I was getting worried, knew this was your first week back to school, was hoping it went ok. Congrats on the compliment! Stone Cold actually looks good on me (medium and darker colors tend to, while lighter colors like Cold Hearted tend to wash me out), but it’s such a dramatic color, I’ve only worn it outside 2x, both during Halloween. But come fall/winter, I’m going to whip it out and just go for it, it’s too beautiful to just sit there, and life is too short!

Katherine T. Avatar

Ooops! I got it mixed up. Cold Hearted (the darker gray) actually looks good on me, but Stone Cold (lighter gray) needs to be mixed with Petit Four, but I’ll wear Cold Hearted outside this fall/winter.

Haul: the 4 new KVD quads, Too Faced Peach palette, the Minnie Mouse palette, Minnie Mouse blush, Anastasia brow pencil, and UD Heartless
Plans: have to do family pictures
Non-beauty website: Williams Sonoma

Grace Avatar

Since tax over here is 13%, I didn’t really go wild with the Sephora 15% off. I snagged a Fresh lip set for the sis (she’s a lip balm fiend), and for myself, a Nudestix Contour pencil (received mediocre reviews, but it tickles my fancy :D)
Weekend plans: not much, it’s still in the minuses and snowing here (!!) So just the usual weekend stuff with the chores
A non-beauty blog I visit: all the celebrity gossip sites haha.. I never in my life purchased the paper version, yet the online stuff I eat up!

That face tho! Mellan is such a cutie, have a great weekend to both!

Grace Avatar

Oh! And wanted to add, finally got my hands on TheBalm’s Mary-Lou Manizer. I was always keen on trying it out, but is so pricey over here. Got it on Amazon for less than 20CAD incl tax and s/h!

Haul: I kinda went crazy at the VIB Rouge sale, so I picked up the MUFE Concealer palette in No.2, the Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation (I’m hoping 213 is dark enough for me!), Cover FX Cover Drops in G40 (Holy Grail product), Laura Mercier Illuminator in Devotion, Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream, Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Light Warm (HG for highlighting), Rouge Louboutin lipstick, and the new Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Quads in Rust and Plum. I also placed an order on MAC for the Otherearthly Skinfinish, Finally Free lipstick, and Halsey lipstick.

Weekend Plans: Relax, blog, and take some long walks with my fur baby.

My feet grew from a 7.5 to a 8.5 due to pregnancy, so there went all my shoes… I donated almost 30 pairs of shoes I could no longer wear to a women’s shelter in Phoenix. I’ve been working on building my shoe wardrobe back up a couple pairs at a time. With these new additions I think I’m at 12-15 pairs of shoes. Not excessive…yet.

Cat Avatar

No, Mellan! That’s not a safe place to get comfortable! I always worry that I’ll roll over a paw when one of our dogs is hanging out next to an office chair. They get so quiet and, after a while, you forget they’re there.

Haul: A bareMinerals blender brush (that I promptly returned because it was scratchy), Too Faced Melted Matte in Queen B, Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow in Silver Lilac (SO pretty!), The Sensual Skin Enhancer from Kevyn Aucoin (SX02), a Sephora Colorful matte shadow in Berry Crush, and the very last Marc Jacobs Outspoken blush in the store!

Weekend plans: Wander around in SLO, probably browse through Barnes & Noble, pick up a fan brush from Sephora, then… who knows?

Whatโ€™s a non-beauty blog/website you enjoy browsing?: Reddit is the non-beauty related site I visit most, followed by Amazon (for music, Kindle books, and, possibly… makeup. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Haul: Bare Minerals Luminizer Duo (The Love Affair/The Shining Moment), TheBalm Balm Desert bronzing blush, Lorac Exhibitionist lipstick, Lorac Unzipped palette for my mother-in-law

Weekend plans: Catch up on as much schoolwork as I can. My husband and I were in a car accident on Monday (we’re fine!), so that’s really thrown off my schedule

Whatโ€™s a non-beauty blog/website you enjoy browsing?: aholyexperience.com or shereadstruth.com. But honestly, I mostly browse through beauty blogs! Mostly Temptalia, Musings of a Muse, and Vampy Varnish.

Joyce Avatar

I like it. Very pigmented, has a nice feel when applying, and the edges are quite “firm” so it doesn’t require a lipliner. It doesn’t glide along as easily as I prefer, but I really like the color. I’m still not into brown lipsticks, so it’s about as brown as I’ll go! ๐Ÿ˜›

Claire L Avatar

Haul: Guerlain Meteorites in Clair, Clarins Iridescente in Silver Plum and Silver Green (finally!), MAC Tinashe eyeshadow palette, MAC Prolongwear Paint Pot in Painterly, free sample of MAC Zoom mascara. Estee Lauder Replenishing CC+ cream, EL Idealist serum, Streamcream tins, free Look Fantastic beauty bag (mostly skincare, one beauty item – Lord & Berry lip pencil in Intimacy). Tarte Rainforest of the sea lip set from QVC – lipsaver and Lip Drench lipsticks in Beach Bum (looks darker brown on me than on you, Christine, but I like it, rather 90210!) and Happy. Birchbox – deluxe Benefit’s Dew the Hoola and Cynthia Rowley eye pencil in black, Balance Me Tinted Wonder Cream (can be used as eye primer) + 2 skincare deluxe samples.

Plans for weekend: Cleaning the flat ready for my parents coming on Sunday. We also have my uncle and aunt visiting next week altho they’re staying in a Premier Inn nearby as there’s not enough room for us all in the flat.

Whatโ€™s a non-beauty blog/website you enjoy browsing? Facebook ?, I keep in touch with my friends and family on there! I also like looking at pet blogs, mostly dog owners’, I like the cute pics and stories.

Mariella Avatar

Claire, aren’t those shadows from Clarins lovely. I have Silver Plum and Silver Ivory and keep heeming and hawing over Silver Green simply because it’s so much like MAC Antique Diamond and Lise Watier Vert Enchante so I’m trying to tell myself I really do NOT need it.

Claire L Avatar

They are lovely! I’ve only swatched them so far, haven’t worn them yet. Silver Green is nice, it’s a subtle silver green, more silver than green. I’d have preferred it if it was a bit greener but it’s nice enough. If you’re after a subtle look, it would be perfect. I looked at swatches of both the MAC and Lise Watier dupes and I’d say this is closer to the MAC dupe, but has a sort of pewter sheen to it one way, and a slightly pink/gold sheen to it another way. Very wearable! The silver plum is darker with a more obvious sheen, perfect for going out. How does that suit you?

Kimberly Avatar

Haul: Picked up the ABH dark brown brow wiz and a travel size of the Benefit Roller Lash. I really wish the Sweet Peach palette was in stock when I made my 15% off Sephora order but I guess I’ll wait till it’s in physical stores here ):
Weekend plans: Studying! And planning my birthday party which’ll be Game of Thrones themed haha!
Whatโ€™s a non-beauty blog/website you enjoy browsing?: does Youtube count? That and Tumblr.

Kimberly Avatar

Nope! This is my third time purchasing it I think. Personally, I think it’s a wonderful product – stays all day, fine-tipped and creamy but not overly so. That said, the NYX micro-brow pencil is very similar, just less creamy and the packaging is really annoying because the caps become loose after a while. Funnily enough, because I’m still on my NYX one, I’ve replaced the NYX caps with my old ABH brow wiz caps and they fit perfectly, which probably shows how similar they are.

Kimberly Avatar

I’ve got friends and family coming so more than likely my friends will come in outfits that are Game of Thrones character-themed, but my family will be taking the easy way out and just coming in the colours of the houses (red and black for Targaryen, green and gold for the Tyrells, etc) haha.

Tova J Avatar

Haul: ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips in Lyin’ King and Frick’n’frack, Super Shock Cheek in Fanny Pack.
Weekend plans: I need to do the same as you haha, so many final projects, assignments and tests in school right now ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
Whatโ€™s a non-beauty blog/website you enjoy browsing?: Tumblr!

Haul: I picked up a Seohora Ultra Shine gloss in vintage pink that I really don’t like, but I spent some of my points on their nice perks for this month: LM lip glacรฉ, Bi-Facil (generous sample!) and the Caviar hair CC cream. Trying to decide whether to pick up the Becca Luminous Blushes during the Love Note sale since I just grabbed the Tarina Tarantino blush quad from Hautelook…
Weekend plans: SLEEP! This was a looong, busy week.
Whatโ€™s a non-beauty blog/website you enjoy browsing?: Morning News Beat- Its a retail industry news site that I read because it relates to my work, but I really find it interesting! It’s part of my weekday morning routine now.

Julia Avatar

I really like their formula, but this particular color is a milky pink that comes off kind of streaky and pale on me- not flattering! Funny enough, it’s quite similar to the Laura Mercier Lip Glacรฉ that is a 100 or perk right now. I am a little disappointed with that too, but at least that was free!

Laura Avatar

Haul: Gwen Stafani UD Blush Palette at Ulta. Do not need it but it is a great deal. I find the packaging so bulky though. I guess I am better served by depotted things in a Z Palette.

I am totally wanting the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette. However, I have the bronze and glow. So, I am trying to control the urge for when it comes out.

Are you going to review the Viseart Theory Palettes? They seem like a great idea to me.

Whatโ€™s a non-beauty blog/website you enjoy browsing?: I don’t typically go to blogs or websites to browse…at least not directly. I do click through email links on several fashion pubs to read articles though.

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Christine, what I do, is I go through and I add all kinds of household and regular purchase products to my List on their site. Then I watch for the sales and instant coupons on the products. Obviously, I only buy when it’s still the best price. Drugstore is almost always cheapest on the razors I buy. Then combine everything up with the Ebates plus free shipping, I just let the points/dollars rack up and each quarter I use the points to get free makeup on the Beauty side of their site.

Nicole Avatar

Awesome haul, Michele! Can I ask, does the Dior Huile Abricot Daily Nutritive Cuticle and Nail Serum work well for you? For the last couple of months my nails have been in probably the worst shape they’ve ever been in (as far as breaking/chipping) and I don’t know why. I almost bought the Dior Crรจme Abricot Fortifying Cream from Sephora but it sounded like it was just for cuticles.

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Nicole, I’m happy with the Dior but I kind of have a “nail routine”. Every morning after I’m done showering, etc. I use the Milk Makeup Hero salve. I apply with a lip brush bc I hate gunky fingers. In the evenings, I use the Dior. I also use the Nail Tek Foundation 2 as my base coat every time I do my weekly mani. I only use the Zoya polish remover bc it doesn’t strip the moisture from my nail beds. The routine has worked pretty well for me. Up until about a week ago, my cuticles were in good shape and nails were fairly long, strong, and healthy…until I snapped one of those buggers off on my car door!

Nicole Avatar

Thank you for your response Michele! I’ll have to look into some of those products. The Nail Tek Foundation 2 in particular sounds like exactly what I need. That’s good to know about the Zoya polish remover! I’ve been using Sephora brand and it does leave my nails feeling a little dry. Oh gosh, I’m sorry about that! How frustrating.

Katherine T. Avatar

Michele, I loved your look with the KVD Plum Quad! Looks stunning on you, really suits your coloring. Can’t wait to see your thoughts/looks on Sage and Smoky !

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Thanks! I was really happy with the quad. The other two are supposed to be delivered today (probably in the next hour). Other than the Lancome shadow crayon that’s also coming today, I’m caught up on trying eyeshadows so I’ll most likely get to the Kat ones this weekend.
The Petit Four you used with the NYX – was it the pencil or liquid lipstick (sorry i forgot)? I was looking at the Satin one and thinking maybe I could use it with the Bite Opal gloss over it…thoughts?

Katherine T. Avatar

I used the CP Lip Liner in Petit Four with NYX Stone Cold. I do have BITE Opal, but I don’t have the CP Liquid Lipstick in gray, which is Marshmallow. I thought Rachel R. might have both, so maybe ask her? She’s into unique lip colors and is also pretty pale, so if she has both, she can try it out and let you know how it looks/works. Or reader Nicole (the one without the picture) might have both. Sometimes, liquid lipsticks don’t mix well with cream lipsticks, but sometimes they do.

Katherine T. Avatar

Michele, Rachel R. says “I have the pencils and liquid lipsticks of Petit Four (dark bluish gray) and Marshmallow (lavender-gray), but I donโ€™t have Bite Opal. I would think Opal gloss would work fine over the pencil. I havenโ€™t tried a gloss over the liquid lipstick yet. Sorry I canโ€™t be more helpful”

Nicole Avatar

I can’t believe it’s Friday already. Is it just me, or did this week go by in about two minutes? Awesome haul, Christine!

Haul: MuseBeauty.pro: They sent me a $20 discount code because the Ribbons Boheme palette release was pushed back to April 12th (it was supposed to be March 31st or something) so I picked up the Viseart theory palettes in Chroma and Minx. Wasn’t going to, but $20 off and new colors, why not?

Ulta: A bunch of Fizz and Bubble large bath fizzies, Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salt Detox, Dr. Teal’s Lavender Foaming Bath and Super Moisturizer with Avocado Foaming Bath, Le Couvent Des Minimes Exfoliating Shower Pulp, two small Z Palettes (one for me, one for a gift I’m sending a friend), BECCA Afterglow Palette and BareMinerals Original Foundation in Golden Fair. I already know I’m returning the BECCA palette and the foundation. I’ve been really curious about trying BECCA highlighters because all of my highlighters are so subtle, and now I know why lol. I detest the way a strong highlight looks on me. The foundation was a good enough color match, but I didn’t feel it was overall as good as my Besame powder foundation.

Sephora: Makeup Eraser in pink, Juliette Has A Gun eau de parfum in Miss Charming, Lavanila Sport Luxe Deodorant, Sephora Collection Lift Off Lash Comb, MUFE Ellipse Sponge, Nails Inc. Overnight Detox Mask, L’Occitane Hand Cream in Amande, Lancรดme Bi-Facil 100 point reward (these last me forever).

Glossier: Priming Moisturizer, Mega Greens Galaxy Pack, Moisturizing Moon Mask.

Beautylish: The new Rae Morris book, Makeup Masterclass.

Weekend plans: I need to do an at-home mani/pedi, post some more things to sell on Facebook groups, talk to my neighbor because she’s going to be away for the next week and I’m going to take care of her cats, buy more music from iTunes that I can listen to on my walks, maybe some light cleaning.

Whatโ€™s a non-beauty blog/website you enjoy browsing?: Honestly, 95% of the blogs/websites I read online are beauty-centric. I guess aside from that I sometimes like to read MBTI blogs.

Christine Avatar

The weeks fly by for me just about every week, lol!

Haha! Muse Beauty got ya ๐Ÿ˜‰ It was nice that they offered the credit, given that it was really outside of their hands. Hope the Ribbons Boheme palette is as good as Viseart’s other palettes (I’m a little worried, since they are brighter and lighter).

Nicole Avatar

Lol! They have been lately for me too (since daylight savings I think), but all winter long I felt like each week was a month.

Yeah, it was nice of them! I was really surprised they gave me a coupon at all for that reason, but it did get them another sale lol. I can understand that. Some of the lighter shimmery colors in my other Viseart palettes aren’t as pigmented as the rest. I’m hopeful though!

Nicole Avatar

Thank you! It was! I was definitely pleased about the discount code. I’ll be sure to say in my next Free For Haul Friday post. I’m expecting them on Tuesday.

I really like the book for the most part. The book itself is good quality-sturdy pages, a lot of pictures-really just like a good sized coffee table book. I got it in yesterday so I’ve only read the first chapter so far. I’ve already picked up some tips that I hadn’t heard before (blotting your skin before applying powder if you’re using liquid or cream foundation-sounds so basic, but I can’t recall ever coming across that advice) and I’ve already read one piece of advice I absolutely don’t agree with (older women shouldn’t wear shimmery shadow).

Once you get past page 175 the whole book is makeup looks and they are stunning. I cannot wait to try pretty much every single one of them. There are step by step photos and instructions, so it’s not one of those where it’s just a finished look picture and drawings for the actual process. There’s a good amount of diversity in the ethnicity of the models, but not as much in the skin tone. I mean, most of them are still within the warm undertone, tan white women to light skinned women of color sort of range-only a few are even approaching what I would call very light, and there’s only one look with a model who has a very dark skin tone.

I’m happy I got it. I like that most of the book is dedicated to looks. For me, my biggest issue with it is the fact that she advertises her line throughout the book. I mean, in the first chapter there’s basically a run down of her brushes and why you need this one and what it can do and once you get to the looks she mentions which of her brushes you should be using, etc. I really don’t like that at all. I feel like a generic run down of useful brushes with a little note at the end that her line is available would have sufficed.

I hope that helped! Let me know if there’s anything more specific you want to know about the book!

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Yay – can’t wait to hear – thank you!

Wow, very helpful about the book. I’ll have to think about it a bit. I did a search for the inventory of my local bookstore (Books a Million) and while it doesn’t look like they have her newest book, they do have a number of her other ones; ranging in price from about $10 – $30. If I get some time, maybe I’ll pop over there over the weekend and look…they are next to the Ulta ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nicole Avatar

You’re welcome! I’m so eager to find out myself. I can’t wait to get them!

That’s great! I’m glad I was able to help! Yeah, I think Beautylish and Rae Morris’s own site are the only places you can get it right now? Maybe. Oh ok-I hope you find one you like! I own a bunch of makeup books, but this is the first Rae Morris one I’ve bought. Lol!

Erica Avatar

Thank you Nicole for giving us your impressions of the Rae Morris book. I was curious about it. I love makeup books, however I have yet to get through the Lisa Eldridge book I bought last Fall lol.

Sarah Avatar

There’s nothing I NEED, aside from maybe replenishing my cleanser and dry shampoo, that I’ll run out of within the month. I don’t even know if there’s anything that I want. I’m happy with what I have. This is a weird place to be, for the first time ever I don’t find myself craving anything.

KJH Avatar

Containing myself fairly well at U & S coupon time. When I realized that you could only get 1 MUFE – multiple discount per order, trekked up to local smaller S for an instore trio. Copper Red is a super blush! Really had a blast with two SAs, who are actually cosmetologists. Resisted Nori, succumbed to Sake. Got lavender and a light yellow…prob trying to dupe the colors in the floral palette that were not repeats. All the MUFEs I really like are online only. (thanks for blue cedar tip, C. It’ll be in the order.). Ulta on the way home from day job. Thanks to readers who rec’d their gel liners. At $3 a pop last w/e, I would have been thrilled if they were only fair +, but they are good. Don’t forget that MUG I think still has a bundle discount for some of the better shadows, springy.

He’s such a character! Haha! My one kitty is forever getting wrapped around the wheels of my makeup chair. Always afraid of the day I don’t see her in time!

Haul: Too Faced Unicorn Tears (just had to!), MAC OtherEarthly MSF, Colourpop: 4 Ultra Satin Lipsticks in TooLips, Marshmallow, Panda and Cozy, also Weenie and “3” eyeshadows. Going up to Sephora later, will add those on later!

Weekend plans: Do my hair, nails already done yesterday (had to stand up to do them, because sciatica is a pain in the butt!), go to Sephora later, meeting on Sunday.

What’s a non-beauty blog/website you enjoy visiting: Modern Met, especially for many of their photo gallery articles! Weather Channel, too!

Clarissa , the white fluffy one, is around 13 lbs. , so I DO worry that she’ll escape my notice! I have already practically tripped over her umpteen times, accidentally kicked her, and all because she is SO quiet that I don’t even know she’ s right in back of me! And then I always feel so horrible, because I would never want to hurt her. ?

Nancy T Avatar

Right?!? Clarissa is very good at knowing how to make me feel super guilty! She’ll give me a scared, sad look and run and hide, so then I have to go find her and tell her “Mommy is so sorry”and reassure her that I just didn’t see her. ?
(Pekes, Poms and cats are REALLY good at piling on the guilt, haha!)

Sephora 15% Haul: Anastasia’s Glow Kits (both shades), Tom Ford Pineo Soleil Cream Blush & The Afternooner compact (the sale makes it slightly more justifiable, but barely), Burberry Spring/Summer Runway palettes (both shades)…so basically I have enough highlighters for 5 lifetimes!

Target: Sonia Kashuk Chic Luminosity Bronzer/Highlighter Duo and both shades of the Sonia Kashuk Chic Luminosity Bronzer/Blush Duo, and two of her brushes. We don’t have SK in Canda and I’m very impressed with everything I got!

Weekend plans: get some serious work done on an art project of mine.

Non beauty website: anything news/art related, for shopping Old Navy because I live in t-shirts.

Mariella Avatar

Haul: More Anastasia shadow here too (I was disappointed that they didn’t have Chocolate Crumble but I consoled myself with Storm – I think it’s called Storm); Sephora Snakeskin Dress eyeshadow (they finally got a few more in stock; I think it’s one of the very few that remain from the original release), Marc Jacobs Blacquer liner; Clarins 5-pan eyeshadow palette in 03/Natural Glow; UD Rapture lipstick. I wanted to get UD Aura, but it hadn’t arrived at my local Sephora yet; I nearly got Hourglass Incandescent Strobing Powder in its place but decided to put it back (I’m still steamed at them over that ripoff palette at Xmas) but knowing me, I will likely get it before the VIB discount ends.

Weekend plans: an old friend coming to visit. We’re going to go fabric shopping and DH and I are taking her out for dinner for her birthday.

No, Christine – I haven’t and a large part of the reason is…..wait for it…..I was waiting to read YOUR reviews of them!!! Add to that the fact that there are SO many of them and I kind of don’t even know where to start AND the fact that Anastasia’s shadows have sort of captured my attention… I have 5 or 6 of their “old” shades, though, and like them well enough though I often forget to reach for them!

Haul: My Zoeva order came in! I got Cocoa Blend and En Taupe shadow palettes, Shu Beauty& Burning Up blush, a 102 rose gold brush and of course that big liner set! I’m pretty excited to dive into that . It’s my first tast of Zoeva! Also, my first taste of BH Cosmetics. I couldn’t resist that Foil Eyes palette. Both packages arrived yesterday, lol! Hmm., CP spring also just came. Oh, Too faced Sweet Peach palette. The rest is on the way. I did my fair share of ordering from the Sephora sale and I’m going to the store probably this evening. I’m out of moisturizer. That and I kinda enjoy the crowd actually. It’s like Christmas, lol . Plus, I’m wanting to try out a few new things& pick up some samples . I also , I pre saled some of the MAC Future and Skinfinish collections that I’m going to fetch.
Weekend plans: I hope to get some sleep some and clean . I need nothing too exciting right now.
Websites: I like Refinery 29 and General chlothes shopping. I’ll have to check out this Redditt. Sounds interesting . I though Redditt was beauty talk?

Haul: None yet, though I did get a deep conditioner. I need to decide if I’m buying stuff during VIB and if so how much. Part of me says stock up on staples the other part says buy some fun stuff and worry about backups for skincare later.

Weekend: I don’t know. My husband is away again, so I’m at a bit of a loss. Maybe gaming with him or maybe doing stuff with the pup. I’ve got a lot of cleaning to do but I don’t want to.

Non-Beauty Website: Other than shopping, I read CopyCat Chic on the weekends with my coffee. I do actually read a lot of decor and food blogs daily. Other than that, mostly news and faceplace.

Haul: I finally cracked because of the Sephora VIB sale and bought the full size of the three skincare products in my routine that I only had deluxe samples sizes of, as my current routine is giving me literally perfect skin. All three are from Origins- their Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, the GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer and the GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream.

Weekend plans: no clue but we finally got an AC in the living area so not melting from this weird Portland heatwave.

Being good with the Sephora sale and just replaced my FAB Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer.

Picked up the Urban Decay Revolution Lipgloss in Shadowheart and since it was my birthday I picked out Sin for the free full-sized eyeshadow UD gives you if you sign up for their rewards program. Loving both colors.

Also found the Marc Jacobs Style Eyecon No. 7 in 210 The Siren on the MJ Beauty website and picked that up as another bday present for myself. Totally in awe of the colors.

Because I can not resist a sale, I have ordered twice from Sephora so far. And one order from Belk (dept. store chain in NC). They have free shipping on beauty items all the time for everyone, but they also had 15% off today. They have the regular dept. store brands and others like The Balm, etc.

Haul: I got red heart-shaped sunglasses. That counts as beauty, right? Urban Decay Fireball highlighter. I’m expecting MAC Halsey to arrive today. It probably will right after I hit “post.” lol I found OCC RTW Lip Tar in Synth at Nordstrom’s, so I got that. Ordered but not here yet: MAC x Caitlyn Jenner Lipstick in Finally Free, MAC Lipstick in So Select, and Sephora Minnie Mouse lipstick.

Weekend plans: Still trying to get better and hoping my voice returns. My hubby leaves Sunday for a 3-day work trip.

My cat has to learn his lesson about twice a year about tails and being in the way. ๐Ÿ˜€

haul: I grabbed two drugstore foundations that I’ve seen get really good reviews online that ALSO come pale enough for me. 1. L’Oreal Lumi Cushion foundation and 2. L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24hr. So far I’m impressed but I haven’t really done the FULL testing yet. Oh! And Aveeno ultra calming daily moisturizer with SPF.

Plans: My mom is home from her knee replacement surgery, so mostly napping and cooking.

What subreddits do you follow?

Also I was driving in NH and saw a car with your logo as a sticker on the back window. Did you ever sell them? Was it a secret sticker from a Temptalia employee? A fan creation?

Oh Mellan, your puppy dog eyes are adorable, but that is a paw accident waiting to happen!

Haul: Sephora sale: Sunday Riley Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer, Urban Decay eyeliner in Black Velvet, Burberry Face Contour Pen in Medium #01, Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo #6, Benefit High Brow, Marc Jacobs eyeliner in Peridot, Estee Edit Late Night Eraser Brightening Eye Balm with Pink Peony, Dr. Jart BB Cream, Algenist Concentrated Color Correcting Drops in Blue, Stella Mccartney Stella perfume, Wen Sweet Almond Mint Anti-Frizz Styling Cream (gift for my mom), Amika mini flat iron.
Ulta sale: Clarisonic Mia, Buxom foundation in Fair Game, Le Couvent des Minimes Eau Sereine Bath Gel and Botanical Fragrance, Urban Decay Fireball highlighter and Whiskey eyeliner, Lipstick Queen lipsticks in Bete Noire Intense and Entourage, and Benefit Lemon Aid.

Weekend plans: It’s supposed to rain here, so naps and cat cuddles, I think. My 15 year-old cat, whom I’ve had since she was a kitten, was just diagnosed with pancreatitis and was in the hospital for almost a week. Now she’s home and has to take about eight different medications for the time being, as well as subcutaneous fluids. She is doing much better now and eating (she lost half her body weight). She is getting bratty about her meds, so I think she is feeling better! It was pretty scary for awhile there. I think I’m still recovering from the emotional exhaustion caused by worry and stress. The vet said she is doing well, and we are taking good care of her, so that’s a consolation.

Haul: MAC! Halsey and Interstellar lipsticks; eyeshadow quads in Full Orbit and Dark Energy; Pearl Blossom beauty powder; Full of Joy powder blush refill pan and an empty 6-pan palette for blushes all came this week, and I’ve been so crazy busy with the first week of school that I haven’t had much chance to play with them yet, other than to try on the lipsticks — love the way both of them look on me — I think gray lipsticks are the equivalent of brown lipsticks for me, as most grays seem to flatter me and very few browns do — and swatch the shadows and pink powders on my arms — love all the colors. Hopefully will get to play with them a bit this week! Just not used to catching the train at 7:15 am, then having all my makeup cleaned off by my fellow students as we practice giving facials to each other (not easy when you have sensitive skin, I can tell you — ouch!).
Weekend plans: study, laundry, study, give my son a break from cooking dinner, study, run errands, study ๐Ÿ™‚ find time to play with my new makeup!

A couple of weeks ago, we wrote about the best hand creams we’ve found, and someone who works as a waitress wrote in about two hand creams that worked really well in that environment, being free of allergens and fragrances and lasting through handwashing; I tried to make a note of them — I’m pretty sure one was Topix Intensive Hand Cream, which I’ve ordered through amazon, but I can’t remember the other one, and my hands (and those of some of my fellow students) need some serious help after we’ve rung out a bunch of towels to go in the hot towel warmer, so if anyone else can point me to really industrial-strength hand creams for intense work settings where your hands are working in water a lot, I would be grateful!
