Sydney Grace Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches ("Thunderous Sunset" Look)
Below Zero
Sydney Grace Below Zero Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark purple with subtle, cool undertones and a soft, metallic sheen. It had rich color coverage with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was blendable and easy to work with. The “downside” to this shade was that it appeared rather blue in the pan and, when used, turned out to be much more in the purple family. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading slightly.

The shimmer eyeshadows are more consistent in pigmentation with the majority of shades having opaque color coverage. The more metallic/sparkly the shade is, the creamier and more emollient the eyeshadow felt in the pan, which often yielded really smooth application and good adherence to the lid, though a few worked better with a fingertip or a dampened brush for true-to-pan color or to get a truer finish/sheen.
Most shades, however, worked well with brushes, and I didn't have trouble applying or blending out most of the shimmer shades. The more satin to pearl like finishes tend to feel a little thinner but blend out well. These shades wore between eight and nine hours on me with some of the more foiled-like shades creasing noticeably at the end (and the less foiled-like ones fading).

Deliverer
Sydney Grace Deliverer Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, light-medium purple with warm undertones and a sparkling sheen. It had good pigmentation in a single layer, which applied somewhat evenly but had to buffed and smoothed out for a true, even application. The consistency was a bit looser, a touch drier, than most shades in the brand’s range of shimmery eyeshadows. It stayed on nicely for eight hours on me before fading visibly.

Golden Rose
Sydney Grace Golden Rose Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones paired with warmer, golden shimmer. The texture was incredibly smooth, cream-like, and blendable; it was denser without being thick or stiff in the pan. The pigmentation was opaque in a single pass, and it adhered well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of product. It lasted nicely for eight and a half hours on me before creasing faintly.

Sydney Grace Guardian Angels Shimmer Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a soft, golden copper with strong, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before it started to crease a bit.

Sydney Grace itsaboy Matte Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a deep blue with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation but needed a second layer for full color coverage. The matte eyeshadows tend to be pigmented (typically semi-opaque or opaque, often buildable if they aren't opaque) with a soft, more velvety texture that has slight slip but isn't so thick that it gets difficult to use, applies unevenly, or has a lot of fallout. I've found that most of the matte eyeshadows apply and blend out without much effort but a few may take a bit more effort to diffuse along the edges. The matte formula tends to wear between eight and eight and a half hours on me.

Those duochromes are so pretty! And whilst these aren’t the kind of colours I would buy, they are really good.
They are!
Stunning eye look, and more purples for me to lust after. Redeemer is going to be a must-buy for me.
They discontinued Redeemer 🙁 I was so sad!!
Oh, how did I miss that? Bummer! Thanks for letting me know.
Yes, this really does bring to mind a thunderstorm and monsoon sunset occurring at once! Love it! Who knows? We may see that this evening.
Of the shades reviewed, I’m in love with Below Zero, Mystery and Redeemer. Even though Redeemer is DC’d, I put it on my WL anyway. Maybe if enough people do….it may get brought back, I hope. It’s one of the most unique duochrome e/s’s I have ever seen!
Here’s hoping… they did a big discontinuation this spring due to overlaps within the range or ingredient availability (like a pigment got discontinued). But Redeemer was definitely one I was sad to see on the list!
Grand look. Every SG post proves to me that I may have all I need, but will NEVER have all I want. One thing I really like, looking at SGs is how often they have a dupe for the 1-2 shadows I liked in a palette I decided against. Seems I scan first for an SG dupe in every shades dupe list, too. They got me!
One of the motivating reasons to review the whole line – pretty good across the board, so then more affordable options for future duping of eyeshadows? Yes please.
Omg! These colors look amazing. I can see myself owning several of these (all actually). ???
There are some beautiful colors here. I definitely need to try the SG formula. Every time you have posted them recently I just keep thinking “yup, I want that!”.
I just placed my second SG order last night after much deliberating on which shades to get. Below Zero was one of them so it was fun to see your review of it this morning. Golden Rose I got in my first order (love it), and Deliverer is on my wish list. Much appreciation for the many swatches and reviews of this brand. They’re invaluable when trying to make decisions!
My favorite part of you reviewing this whole line
is seeing the really creative ways you put together colors that I have that I never would have thought of. This is so pretty. Also, I love seeing SG in the dupes list now.
I have Deliverer and I haven’t had any issues with it. It’s super creamy and lays down beautifully in my experience.
