Revlon Ravish Me Red, Certainly Red, Cherries in the Snow Super Lustrous Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Ravish Me Red
Revlon Ravish Me Red Super Lustrous Lipstick ($8.49 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium-dark orange with warm, red undertones and a luminous finish. It had medium, buildable pigmentation (to nearly opaque) that adhered evenly and smoothly on my lips. I really enjoyed how it helped my lips look somewhat smoother and less lined. The consistency was lightweight, thin without being clingy, and had enough glide that it didn’t tug on my lips during application. It lasted nicely for four and a half hours and was hydrating while worn.

Formula Overview
$8.49/0.15 oz. - $56.60 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "lightweight color and moisturizing shine" with "buildable color payoff" and a "gliding, smooth application." It's a good formula for those who like medium, buildable coverage with a smooth, balmy consistency that glides across lips easily but doesn't feel too slippery while worn.
They're comfortable to wear with light hydration but tend to wear a shorter length of time--anywhere from two to four hours with a couple of shades reaching a little beyond four hours. What I like most about the formula is the finish: it's luminous and more smoothing, so it's kinder to lips with imperfection or prone to dryness/flaking. The formula has slip but doesn't have any heaviness or slickness that makes it prone to getting into lip lines.

Ravish Me Red

Certainly Red
Revlon Certainly Red Super Lustrous Lipstick ($8.49 for 0.15 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark red with subtle, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. The color coverage was buildable from medium to semi-opaque but always retained slight translucency, which helped it have a more stained-like appearance. The lipstick had a lightweight, lightly creamy texture with moderate slip; it felt a little more slippery on my lips than most of the other shades I’ve tried in the line. It wore well for five hours and was moisturizing over time, and while I did not personally experience feathering over time, I’d be curious if those who find that more of an issue (in general) experience it with this particular shade.

Certainly Red
PPermanent. $8.49.
Cherries in the Snow
Revlon Cherries in the Snow Super Lustrous Lipstick ($8.49 for 0.15 oz.) is a deep, raspberry pink with cool undertones and a cream finish. It had good color payoff in a single layer, which was more pigmentation than expected based off of how this formula is supposed to perform. (To achieve more buildable coverage, use more dabbing motions to apply the color and press lips together to diffuse the color.) It had a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was thin without being clingy, which helped it adhere evenly but still feel comfortable. It stayed on well for five hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

Certainly Red has been in my arsenal of reds for many years now — great shade!
Each one of these look splendid on you! Proves that one need not spend a small fortune on a truly fantastic lipstick. Interestingly, one of my best friends of nearly 40 years, she uses Revlon Certainly Red as her “signature” lipstick! She has for at least 6 or 7 years straight!
Historical note: Revson and Lachman (the L in Revlon) started with polish, probably the first commercial nail lacquer. The tips and lips soon followed…in the 1930s! Cherries was their first color, sold door to door, and it dates to 1932. that’s 87 years of grossly, anyway, the exact same shade. Quite a tribute.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing!
These are such gorgeous reds. I can see why Cherries in the Snow has such a following. I’m a sucker for pinkish reds like that.
I haven’t worn Revlon lipsticks in years — are they scented?
Revlon Ravish Me Red has long been a favorite of mine in warm weather due to its red–coral-orange tint, which looks great with a tan and on light-medium skintones with yellow undertones. Summer light can make Ravish Me Red look fabulous, where it would be too orangey in winter light.
Certainly Red and Cherries in the Snow are two of my favorite lipsticks, they’re so flattering on so many skin tones and they’re comfortable to wear and simply gorgeous!
Certainly Red is absolutely beautiful and these lipsticks are stunning.
These lip colors just make me smile. Certainly Red and Cherries in the Snow have been a part of my make-up collection for more years than I care to admit. They are iconic and classic, and will be with me always.
I have and love Cherries In The Snow and seem to buy a lot of similar colours. Probably could have just kept with it and saved myself a lot of money!!
Cherries in the Snow is my favorite in this group. I do of course have several similar lippies.
I had to, I just did!
I made my January purchase just now and ordered Cherries in the Snow. It is a lovely colour and I, strangely didn’t have a good dupe for it.
Well, as long as I don’t order anything else, I’m OK with the low buy.
I did however order two Revlon nail polishes, Revlon Red and Cherries in the Snow. I really like when I can match lips and nails.
I also ordered a brown eyeliner, as I don’t have any that aren’t really shimmery or even glittery.
All in all the total amount hardly got up to what a luxuary brand would take for one lipstick, a lot less actually.
Hope you love both the polish and lip color!!
Ah … Cherries In the Snow. A color that has pulled at me for years — from long before I started looking at makeup with serious interest. I can’t quite convince myself to get it, though; it is (or was) my mom’s color, and every time I consider getting it, I feel like I’m misappropriating. Still thinking about it.
