MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.

Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.

I have very fair skin with yellow-neutral undertones, and this lipstick looks so flattering on me! It's matte so not the most moisturizing formula, but it's not drying either and doesn't really tug or pull when applying. It is very long lasting, I wore it for my wedding banquet (+10 dishes!) and only had to reapply at the end. Although it doesn't tend to bleed, I use with MAC Cherry lip liner to get a very defined edge. Super recommended!

I won't write too much since this was limited edition, but it's one of my favourite lipsticks ever. If I had known I would love it so much I would have bought several. It's a really smooth and comfortable consistency so it applies really nicely. It has a gorgeous gloss and subtle sparkle that makes it such a pretty neutral with something extra. Wears for a stupidly short time and mine did snap very easily, but the colour is just so wonderful I was generous with the rating!

I love this lipstick! Matte finishes are my absolute favourite, and the darker the better! Such a beautiful shade the honestly doesn't seem all that intimidating to wear out of the house. It's just the right amount of vampy without appearing too gothic, for those who aren't going for that look. Forever gutted that it isn't permanent, but so happy I picked it up when it was available. It wears for a good amount of time, and does withstand eating and drinking to an extent, but inevitably inner-lip wear does occur. I gave it a 4/5 because for some reason or another it smells pretty gross. I don't know if it's limited to the one I bought, but it definitely does not have the sweet vanilla scent associated with MAC lipsticks. If anyone wishes they could get their hands on it then try out Nightmoth Lip Pencil by MAC because it's almost the exact same shade. I love wearing them together.

I have such a personal struggle to find light/nude lipstick shades that suit me, so I feel particularly strongly about this lipstick because it is the PERFECT nude shade for me. I notice the product is listed as limited edition, but I've seen it on the MAC website for at least the last 6 months, so I really recommend it to anyone who finds traditional/popular nude shades too 'corpsey' on themselves. In terms of application it is very smooth, comfortable and moisturising. It in no way draws attention to lip lines, and does not emphasise them either. I did not give it 5 stars simply because it doesn't last for a particularly long time (especially when eating and drinking occur).

One of my favs from this collection. Its a sweet, light pink - looks girlie and perfect as an every day colour. Works well with the Royal Sunset blush.

I have a medium/ olive skintone with yellow undertones. My lips are slightly darker. The colour is so pretty! On me though, it was a very sheer orange. I had to apply this several times to get a brighter orange. It looks so pretty when wearing it with the blushers! Out of the colours I bought from the MAC All about orange collection (Tart and Trendy, Sushi Kiss, Flamingo and Razzledazzler), this was the sheerest colour payoff but nevertheless it is a lovely lipstick!

I have a medium/ olive skintone with yellow undertones. My lips are slightly darker. I was hoping that this colour would be the best one from the collection but i'm very much on the line about this. When I put this on from the tube, it was really pastel orange on the lips - kinda like how some neon pink colours are on me where my lips look a little scary. Think MAC saint germain but in coral and not as bright. There is a plus side though! Once I blotted my lips with tissue to take away the excess, it revealed a beautiful coral nude shade which is perfect. Out of the colours I bought from the MAC All about orange collection (Tart and Trendy, Razzledazzler, Flamingo and Tangerine dream) this was the strangest. It might work better with a gloss over it.

I would have NEVER thought this was a color I could pull off, but it actually looks nice against my super pale (Bobbi Brown Alabaster) skin. It has just enough pink in it that it doesn't clash. My only issue is it is really difficult to get it even on my lips in one layer. I have to put some on, blot, and layer on more to get even coverage. I have found that if I use MAC Lasting Sensation lip pencil under it, then it goes on smoother. The color lasts quite a long time on me too, but it can be a bit drying.

This is my go-to light pink, Sunny Seoul is a little shimmery and definitely on the sheer side so it's a great choice for easy color. Because of the shimmer it can go on unevenly especially if your lips are dry. For some reason on my skintone this reads slightly blue but not too bright, where Pink Pearl Pop was super neon, so I definitely like this one better.

This is a gorgeous neutral/slightly cool medium-ish pink. I say medium-ish because on fair skin it's slightly darker than my natural lipcolor, but for darker and richer skin tones it would definitely be light. Good coverage, not sticky at all, and just enough blue tinge to make my teeth look extra white. I have to mention also, I bought this on a whim in store having not been much of a lipstick person before, and it set me on a MAC lipstick bender like no other. I love it!

I bought this shade on a whim and it ended up being the color I liked the most from the Après Chic collection. It's very versatile and looks great paired with a warm smoky eye. On me it looks peachy gold. It does have that metallic quality to it so it's not the creamiest shade but I have terribly dry lips and it doesn't bother them. I have been pleasantly surprised with this shade.

Clearly this is not a color for everyone. It is different and eye catching but that is what most of us love about Mac anyway. The consistency is smooth and wonderful and opaque with one swipe. For most people this color requires a little creativity as far as lip liner and/or lip gloss but that's what makes makeup so fun. I haven't worn it a lot because it is a little high maintenance but I'm still glad I bought it. I pair it with NYX lip liner in Purple Rain and it looks awesome. It also looks good with pink and purple glosses.

This was an impulse buy for me, I got a text on my phone from MAC saying it was available and just snatched it up. I'm glad I did. I don't own Ruby Woo so I can't do a comparison, but I do love this color. It's a nice, cool tone red that would work well on a lot of skin tones. I'm not sure if it's the finishing powder that I use or the lipstick itself, but it's very long lasting. The only reason I give it 4.5 starts instead of a perfect 5 is because of the texture. It is very dry so I always wear a lip primer with it (Mac Lip Prime) so it goes on better and doesn't feel so dry on my lips. Other then that I love the stuff.

Such a showstopper of a red color! It's super flattering on my warm skin due to it's orange tones and is my bright, sexy red (Russian Red is my darker red shade). Lasts probably 4-5 hours and leaves a slight stain behind. I would definitely recommend going into a MAC store to try it on before buying it as it is a very bright shade. It's a great shade of red for summertime!

A beautiful shade of red! I have warm toned skin and this is still very flattering on me. It's my darker, sexier shade of red (Lady Danger is my bright red). Even though it's not a hydrating lipstick, it's very creamy when it goes on and it's opaque in one sweep. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great, versatile red.

I am NOT a RiRi fan, but I am a fan of red lipsticks. I went with this one because I don't have Ruby Woo (although I have worn it when borrowed from a friend). For one, I think it is NOT a perfect dupe for Ruby Woo, but it isn't a major difference in the color. It is slightly darker and bluer but nothing major. It does however seem to feel a bit more comfortable on the lips and is less drying that Ruby Woo. It isn't very forgiving if you have dry/chapped lips so you definitely need to prep your lips first if you have any flakiness that you need to take care of. When applying for the first time I noticed a lot more tugging on the lips than I am used to, but subsequent applications have been much better. As I mentioned, I expected it to be extremely drying like Ruby Woo was but to my surprise it really wasn't. It's definitely not hydrating either though. If wearing a matte is just too much for you then you can apply a little lip balm on top and rub your lips together. This will change the texture but the color remains on the lips. Just something to consider if you love the color but not the feel of matte (or retro matte in this case). If you aren't a RiRi fan, you don't have a love of all lip products that are red, and/or you already own Ruby Woo then you can skip this one with no regrets.

Definitely a MLBB shade, at least for me! I love this for work and class or just those outings where you want to feel polished but not necessarily turn heads everywhere you do. it's a comforting look. Some have had issues with the cremesheen line, in terms of dryness and such, but it works fine for me

lovely color, suits my skin really well. love that it can be applied super sheerly for a pretty stain, or layered on for a pin-up look. I've worn it numerous times, and always get tons of compliments. Since it is matte in texture, it is not the most hydrating lipstick out there; make sure to apply lip balm a few hours before you plan to apply this lipstick.

Please Me is one of MAC's underrated permanent items (of which there are many!). It's a great basic item to have - pink but not bright, neutral but still noticeable. The matte finish pairs excellently with this shade - in my opinion the finish is what makes this shade sing. This is one of my staple products. I have almost used a whole tube and will buy another when I use it up.

I obviously bought this lipstick because I love Rihanna! Aside from that, I'm completely in love with the color and finish. There is something very classic and sexy about the effect. I've never worn red lipstick, but this is a very positive step into that direction. If you're looking for something super moisturizing, this isn't the lipstick for you. If you love the look Rihanna has made her signature, cop RiRiWoo when it rereleases in the fall.

Love love love this! I just bought it today as a random pick when I went into my local MAC store to find a good red lipstick. I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did. It's very soft and creamy when you put it on though it's not a moisturizing lipstick (I have great lip balm that might help with that). It lasted about 6 hours on me but then again, I wasn't doing much eating or drinking, and it did leave a slight stain behind afterwards. You also don't have to put a lot on in order to have it be opaque which is great. Plus, it supports a great cause so it was totally worth it. I might buy another one. It's a great, bright, and fun color for spring/summer. I love the fact that it's a warm-toned pink since so many pink lipsticks are cool-toned/blue-based.

I was actually kind of terrified of this color but I bought it because it had so many good reviews. It was such a good choice! The color really compliments my skin (I'm pale but warm toned) and, according to my friends, lights my whole face up. It's very easy to tone down if you put it on lightly: by doing this, I can make it more coral toned than pure orange. I would definitely give it a try as it's a great color for summer!

Fantastic red that suit most skin tones. On my lips, it's as a cool tone red as much as a berry-ish red. Long lasting and easy to apply. A perfect dupe for this is Maybelline ColorSensational in Red Revival (645). The same shade but with a glossier finish. It doesn't last as long on the lips, though.
