MAC matte lipsticks are my favourite formula to wear and I find them consistently good across the board. Russian red is a lovely bright red that doesn't pull pink on me, which I find to be a problem with most reds as I have yellow undertones. Like the other MAC mattes I own this wears comfortably for long periods of time and does not feather or apply patchy.

Russian Red is gorgeous!I went to MAC to get red lipstick, with my mind set on Ruby Woo. The saleswoman had me try both Ruby Woo and Russian Red, which she thought would go better with my coloring. She was right! Russian Red is a richer, deeper red, and not nearly as drying as Ruby Woo. The color suited my light complexion and dark hair...like Snow White! This lipstick stayed on beautifully through the evening, which included drinks and dinner, and made me feel so glamorous. I would not be comfortable wearing Russian Red every day, but it's sure to become my favorite evening out lipstick.

A classic lip colour. I love this colour, despite the fact that it is a cool red and I have strong yellow undertones. It is highly pigmented and once on, it does not budge. It is slightly drying, but that's nothing a little balm can't fix. I think this is one of those universal reds that will look great on anybody. And I much prefer it over Ruby Woo. If you are a newbie to MAC lipsticks, I would definitely recommend this one to start with!

This was my first MAC lipstick, ever. I combine this lipstick with the MAC lipliner, Cherry, and it looks absolutely stunning together.I am in love with this shade of red. It lasts forever and makes your teeth look whiter because of the blue undertones in the lipstick. This is a highly recommended lipstick by me - even though if you have Ruby Woo or MAC Red :)

I got this as a Back 2 Mac shade, almost as an afterthought - and I am impressed! It's crazy pigmented, and the shade is so flattering - much more so than I expected. It can be hard to get a crisp line straight from the bullet, and one does NEED a clear line with a shade like this. The upside is, it's so matte that I can go outside my natural lip line and it will stay there. It's not drying or hydrating - I dab a little lip conditioner over the top after about 4 hours and I'm good.It really creates a classic, pin-up look - AND it does actually makes my teeth look whiter (no, really!!).

I have very fair skin with yellow-neutral undertones, and this lipstick looks so flattering on me! It's matte so not the most moisturizing formula, but it's not drying either and doesn't really tug or pull when applying. It is very long lasting, I wore it for my wedding banquet (+10 dishes!) and only had to reapply at the end. Although it doesn't tend to bleed, I use with MAC Cherry lip liner to get a very defined edge. Super recommended!

A beautiful shade of red! I have warm toned skin and this is still very flattering on me. It's my darker, sexier shade of red (Lady Danger is my bright red). Even though it's not a hydrating lipstick, it's very creamy when it goes on and it's opaque in one sweep. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great, versatile red.

Fantastic red that suit most skin tones. On my lips, it's as a cool tone red as much as a berry-ish red. Long lasting and easy to apply. A perfect dupe for this is Maybelline ColorSensational in Red Revival (645). The same shade but with a glossier finish. It doesn't last as long on the lips, though.
