NABLA Cosmetics Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Dreamy
NABLA Cosmetics Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette ($45.00 for 0.39 oz.) is a warmer-toned, neutral palette with pops of purple and berry. It’s not quite as orange or yellow-toned as some neutral palettes as it leans more pink/coral to my eye. Most of the shades were quite good, and when working with the palette as a whole, I didn’t have any trouble; in fact, it was easy to use and came together well on the eye.

PPermanent. $45.00.
Immaculate
Immaculate is a bright, white gold with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a soft, more loosely-pressed texture that had to be pressed onto the lid to minimize fallout and ensure evenness in application. With a dampened brush, it was very easy to work with, though. It wore well for eight hours on me.

Formula Overview
$8.00/0.09 oz. - $88.89 Per Ounce
The brand has a few different powder eyeshadow formulations, and because they don't just differ in finish but in price, they're listed as individual formulas on Temptalia, but for ease, I wanted to keep the same overview available so it's easy to get a big picture overview of their powder eyeshadows generally!
Super Matte Eyeshadows are "highly pigmented, completely opaque" with a "full, velvety" finish. The Super Mattes have a more finely-milled, velvety, and more substantial texture compared to the brand's Soft Matte eyeshadows, and I also found that they were much more pigmented than the Soft Mattes, too. There was more fallout during application if I wasn't careful due to the Super Matte shades being so pigmented, though. If one prefers building up coverage, the Soft Mattes would be more suitable. The eyeshadows in this finish tended to wear seven to eight hours on me.
Top Coat Wet & Dry Eyeshadows are supposed to give a "wet effect" and can be used wet or dry but are suggested to be used by "dabbing them on with your fingers" or "trying it wet." I found that these varied--some were really soft, blendable, and extremely pigmented with more fleck-like sparkle and others were drier and firmer with a thinner texture that was stiffer to work with. Most of them did apply best with fingertips or with a dampened brush over a dry brush. This finish is more interesting than the others, but I'd pay attention to the specific shades as there was some inconsistency. The wear time ranged from six to eight hours and slight to moderate fallout.
Satin Eyeshadows are supposed to have a "gentle sheen" with "the finest pearls" that will have "excellent adhesion" and be "long-lasting." They can also be applied wet or dry, and some shades did apply more smoothly or had better pigmentation when applied with a dampened brush, but the majority were easy to work with dry. The texture was smooth, firm but not too dense, and most shades blended out easily as the formula wasn't stiff to work with. Most shades lasted seven to eight hours.
Soft Matte Eyeshadows are supposed to give a "soft and delicate" effect while blending "easily." While the brand mentions "soft and delicate," the swatches they provided of the shades in this finish were showing opaque coverage in one layer, so the expectation would be for true, full color coverage, but a lot of the shades in the finish seemed more muted (which could be interpreted as "soft and delciate"). My experience was that the pigmentation ranged from medium to opaque but most shades were buildable, and I felt like buildable, matte eyeshadows are much needed and quite versatile--there's a huge difference in a poorly pigmented eyeshadow and one that can be pigmented, just requiring two layers--the latter gives one a lot of control over how it can appear in a look. The shades in this finish seemed to fade a little faster on me with six to seven hour wear on average.
Pearl Eyeshadows are supposed to "apply evenly, blend well" with "excellent skin adhesion" and "long-lasting" wear with high pigmentation. These are your m re typical shimmery, powdery eyeshadow formula with light creaminess, moderately dense textures, and are usually quite easy to blend out. Most of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that lasted between seven and eight hours on me. Some shades were very metallic and others were a soft frost.

Delirium
Delirium is a medium-dark purple with warm undertones and a sparkling finish. It had chunkier glitter in it, which made the texture feel noticeably grittier and drier to the touch, so color payoff was week when applied dry with a brush. It needed to be applied with a dampened brush or fingertips to get better opacity and more even, lasting adhesion to the lid. It lasted for seven hours with fallout.

Rose Gold
Rose Gold is a soft, light-medium copper with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It was more loosely pressed in the pan, so it had a drier texture that did not apply as well with a dry brush as there was some fallout and less pigmentation. I would recommend using a dampened brush with this shade to get opaque, even coverage with no fallout. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

Dogma is a medium taupe with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a soft, firmer texture that was fairly blendable but best applied in layers in order to get the color to go on evenly. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

I’ve been eagerly anticipating this review, because purple themed palettes are my Achilles heel! Question I’m asking myself: do I *need* it? I have Viseart Amethyst, ND Lila and PMG La Vie En Rose, plus some other palettes with lovely purples, plums, and such; so? ?
Maybe the Palette vs. Palette tool could help! I feel like you have quite a few purples/plums between those, though 😉
Palette vs. Palette is an excellent tool for that! Pretty likely that I’m swimming in great quality, beautiful purples/plums for many years to come, I’m guessing. ?
I already have this at home and I love it – it makes me happy to look at 🙂 And use, of course!
And the palette itself is beautiful with the constellation print and the gold corners…
I’ve been looking forward to this review as I’m into pinks and plums lately. This reminds me a lot of Viseart Tryst, which I love and use often. I feel somehow that Tryst is more effective though, and I can’t put my finger on why I feel this way. Anyway, I’m glad this reviewed so well though is a pass for me.
It’s a bit of an up and down palette to me – some shades are great and the others are average. It’s a shame that the brand decided to do the deeper purple shade Delirium in glitter, as it nearly always ends in tears. A shimmer would have been much better and delivered a more usable shade. There are also a couple of the rose gold/light copper shades that are fairly similar to each other too.
I think it’s an easy pass.
This is gorgeous. Christine, where did you find this brand?
It’s an Italian brand!
I love the peachy shades with the purple-toned shades. What a lovely palette. I don’t need it, though.
As loth I am to admit this, they did a good job with this (and only two browns, yay).
I’m not a big fan of the company with their name so close to NAMBLA and their use of bad fake physics justify it (on their website). There is no way an actual physicist approved of Nabla=physics for all the colors of nature. (Most of the uses for nabla involve some variation on ‘change in’; the wikipedia entry for nabla is pretty good if anyone is interested.)
