Milani Adore Amore Matte Lip Creme
Milani Adore Amore Matte Lip Creme

Milani Adore Amore Matte Lip Creme ($8.99 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is described as a “pink nude.” It’s a brightened, light-medium peach with a hint of pink and a flat, matte finish. It had had mostly opaque color coverage, but the texture dried down very, very dry and “cracked” as soon as I smiled or moved my lips, which made it a more uncomfortable shade to wear. This was my least favorite to wear, as it felt noticeably drying after three hours of wear and only lasted for six hours before flaking and fading unevenly. Tarte Namaste (P, $20.00) is darker, glossier (95% similar). KVD Beauty Noble (P, $20.00) is warmer (95% similar). Anastasia Pure Hollywood (P, $20.00) is cooler, glossier (90% similar). ColourPop She Bad (P, $6.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Make Up For Ever Cream Beige (101) (P, $20.00) is darker (90% similar). Sephora Peach Tart (LE, $14.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Knotty (LE, $6.50) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Too Faced Sorry Not Sorry (P, $22.00) is darker, glossier (90% similar). MAC Shrimpton (P, $19.00) is glossier (90% similar). Dior Tender Matte (340) (LE, $35.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Too Faced When In Doubt (P, $22.00) is cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Midnight Snack (DC, $6.50) is darker, more muted (90% similar). MAC Lady Be Good (P, $21.00) is darker (90% similar). ColourPop Platform (LE, $6.50) is warmer (85% similar). MAC Dandy Apple (LE, $19.00) is cooler, glossier (85% similar). Anastasia Peachy (LE, $20.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). NYX Forbidden (P, $6.00) is lighter, glossier (85% similar). Make Up For Ever Warm Beige (103) (P, $20.00) is darker (90% similar). Anastasia Stripped (P, $20.00) is darker, more muted (85% similar). KVD Beauty Muneca (P, $20.00) is lighter, more muted, cooler (80% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Milani Lust Amore Matte Lip Creme ($8.99 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is described as a “cool rose.” It’s a lightly brightened, medium pink with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich pigmentation that applied smoothly and evenly while drying down to a soft but not emphasizing matte finish. The formula is consistent with the range: thinner and more water-like, so take care with application to avoid messy edges or over-applying. It wore well for seven hours and felt a bit drying at the five-hour mark. ColourPop Tattle Tail (LE, $6.00) is warmer (95% similar). Too Faced Freshly Baked (LE, $21.00) is cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Solow (DC, $6.50) is lighter (95% similar). KVD Beauty Magick (DC, $21.00) is cooler, glossier (90% similar). Urban Decay Naked (P, $18.00) is cooler (90% similar). NARS Walk This Way (P, $26.00) is darker (90% similar). Anastasia Petal (P, $18.00) is glossier (90% similar). ColourPop Canoodle (P, $7.00) is darker (90% similar). Guerlain #05 (P, $33.00) is cooler, glossier (90% similar). ColourPop Love Bite (LE, $6.00) is less pigmented (90% similar). Urban Decay Criminal (DC, $18.00) is lighter, cooler, glossier (85% similar). Bobbi Brown Nude Reality (P, $37.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). ColourPop Cami (P, $6.00) is cooler (85% similar). Chanel La Secrete (61) (LE, $45.00) is brighter, glossier (85% similar). ColourPop Speed Up (LE, $7.00) is darker (85% similar). MAC Mehr (P, $19.00) is glossier (90% similar). ColourPop Cami (PiP, $7.00) is cooler (85% similar). Jouer Blush (P, $18.00) is cooler (85% similar). Ciate Sydney (LE, $19.00) is darker, warmer, glossier (85% similar). MAC Nouvelle Vogue (LE, $19.00) is cooler, glossier (85% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. FORMULA SUMMARY | Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme ($8.99 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a new, limited edition liquid lipstick that dries to a matte finish. You’ll mostly find them at your local drugstore (I got mine from Walgreens), but they are available online as well through Milani directly. These have a very thin, liquid-y consistency–they easily get outside the lines and in general, the applicator can apply far more than you need, so I highly recommend a little patience and maybe using a lip brush (if you can) to apply and get really precise, neat lines. The formula has a longer dry down–about five to ten minutes before you can press your lips together–and gets very tacky after two minutes or so (do NOT! press your lips together or else you will lift color in large patches!). They’re one of the lesser drying liquid lipsticks I’ve come across (but these did get a bit drying after four to six hours of continuous wear), and they are long-wearing and pigmented. They have a moderately strong sweet, vanilla scent.

Nicole, to find reviews for Burberry lip products, I went to the search box in upper right corner, typed in “burberry lip” and a drop down menu pops up for Burberry Lip Velvet, Lip Mist, Lip Cover, and Lip Definer . I didn’t see reviews for any Burberry Kisses. I didn’t realize Military Red came in 2 formulas, Lip Mist and Kisses. I will test for you and let you know.

Thanks Katherine! Military Red must come in 3 formulas because I have it in the lip Velvet formula! Its like a matte -not ultra matte-formula…very nice. It has been reviewed by Christine. It got an A ,I do believe. I think the Kisses formula is a newer one that is supposed to be sheer, but buildable. Thanks for keeping me updated! I have been eyeing this deep plum shade for a while. You’re the best! 🙂

Sad that Adore’s formula isn’t great, because that nude color is gorgeous! Very eager to try Lust out – who can argue with those prices??

Adore actually shrunk your lips it was so dry! The formula for it sucks, literally. But Lust is like, WOW, so lovely and looks perfect ! Especially for an ultra-matte.
I love the purple eyeshadow look you have on for Lust! Not sure which ones they are though? You know I love me a great purple eyeshadow, LoL!

I initially picked up Beloved and Adore. I picked up Adore with the idea that it is good for mixing to lighten up other colors – I don’t like matte nudes on me, I prefer a satin or glossy finish. I do agree that the Kat Von D matte lip creams are a bit more comfortable, I think because they seem to have a bit more substance to them, but the Milani ones are priced so well with a great wearable color selection, so I think they’re worth it! I want to go back for Romance, Embrace, and Flirt, if I can still find them.

These look extremely drying. The swatch on the arm and on the lips looks like the problem has found every single line and dried in there. The color shown here is blah.

Lust is super dark on me compared to this swatch. It’s more of a dark rose shade on me. Love both of these though! 🙂 (still on the hunt for Beloved, 2 CVSes and a Walgreens later still no luck!)

NelleShoeGirl Avatar

I just picked up Lust yesterday and tried it on this morning. I’m loving the initial wear. My hesitation with most long lasting, liquid matte lipsticks is that they pucker my lips and emphasize the lines, but this one is sitting very nicely and not giving me deep lines in my lips!
