Marc Jacobs Work It, Skin Deep, Call Me Enamored Lip Lacquers Reviews & Swatches
Work It (342)
Marc Jacobs Beauty Work It (342) Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a medium, taupe-brown with neutral undertones and a cream finish. It had an almost vinyl-like shine to it, as it looked particularly smooth with a very glossy, high-shine finish.
The consistency was smooth, lightweight but thicker in feel, which gave it a plusher feel on my lips. I was impressed by just how smoothing the formula was of my lip lines, and as a result, how well the color applied. It had nearly opaque coverage (and was described as “opaque”) that lasted nicely for five hours and felt hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

It is supposed to have "maximum color and brilliance" and "shine like 30 coats of lacquer." The formula has a mint scent but not much flavor from what I could detect. While the brand's general description is "maximum color," they seem to modify that with individual shade descriptions as several shades are specifically described as "opaque" and a few are noted as "sheer" with the remainder having no specific coverage descriptor (as of April/May 2020).
This seems to suggest that the rest are neither sheer nor opaque but somewhere in-between--I would lean toward "semi-opaque" to be closer to "maximum color," though I really think that's quite confusing to the customer. It would make more sense to simply describe it as a range of sheer to opaque shades or that they're medium coverage (as a whole).
The coverage ranged from semi-sheer to opaque with a fair amount of shades between medium and semi-opaque payoff in a single layer, and they do have a very high-shine finish that makes my lips look more voluminous.
The consistency was smooth, like a creamy gel as it was a bit thicker (without being heavy or tacky), and very easy to spread across my lips. It was comfortable to wear and moisturizing over time. Some shades smoothed out my lip lines, though it wasn't consistent throughout the range as a few settled into them (usually paler, milkier shades).

Skin Deep (344)
Marc Jacobs Beauty Skin Deep (344) Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a light-medium beige with warmer undertones and a cream finish. It’s a medium, peachy beige with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. It was supposed to be “opaque,” but it had more semi-opaque coverage. The texture was more cushiony, which gave it more thickness (though not heavy!) and a second layer was noticeably thicker/heavier with more slip–I wouldn’t build it up with more product as a result.
The product spread fairly evenly over my lips, but as lighter, milkier colors in a gloss format tend t apply, it had room for improvement (I await updates in gloss tech with great anticipation!). It stayed on well for four hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Call Me (348)
Marc Jacobs Beauty Call Me (348) Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark orange with moderate, warm undertones and a cream finish. Per the brand, it was described as “opaque” specifically, and it was pretty close to that. The color could have applied a bit more evenly, and there was a bit of product that sank into my deeper lip lines, though.
The consistency was lightweight, like a creamier gel, so it spread well and felt plusher on my lips but wasn’t too tacky or thick. It wore well for five hours and felt hydrating over time.

Work It is that perfect, slightly taupey brown gloss of my dreams! I can see it becoming a go-to for when I wear a more dramatic eye look. So, yeah, I’m getting this one.
I also really love Call Me, but have MAC Laundry List from several years ago. Hopefully, it’s still okay. I haven’t been wearing gloss lately due to wearing masks. Been using my few dry-down matte lipsticks whenever I go out instead.
None of these are in my colour preferences so an easy skip for me and money saved!
Oh, I love Call Me! That i gorgeous!
As much as I love brown and orange tinged shades, I don’t particularly like these ones. The brown shade is too ashy and the orange looks more like a pumpkin colour for me.
I love these colours! I just ordered Work It based on your pictures and reviews. So many glosses are now packed with glitter in candy colours … they look lovely on some women but I love the sophistication of a straight cream gloss. No shimmer.
Work It is a beautiful shade for my skin tone!
