MAC You're So Vain, DGAF, Maison Rouge Love Me Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
You're So Vain
MAC You’re So Vain Love Me Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. The lipstick had a lightweight, lightly creamy texture that felt a bit denser/thicker than most shades in the range, though it was definitely not heavy! It had nearly opaque color payoff that adhered evenly and smoothly across my lips without tugging. There was a bit of product that sank into my deeper lip lines, and I felt like the lipstick wasn’t as kind as some formulas to imperfections in lip texture. It stayed on well for five hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$23.00/0.1 oz. - $230.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "lighter-than-air texture" with "all-day moisturization" paired with "intense color and soft shine." They had semi-opaque to fully opaque color coverage in a single layer, and most of the shades applied evenly and smoothly to my lips without emphasizing lip texture or sinking noticeably into my lip lines.
The texture was very lightweight, lightly creamy without too much slip, yet there was a distinctive shine to the finish. The luminosity wore down within an hour or so of wear. The formula seemed like a cross between Amplified and Cremesheens, yet there was no tackiness, and the Love Me formula was much lighter and thinner (without being clingy). The wear has ranged from three to six hours and has been lightly to moderately hydrating. They had a sweet, vanilla scent (typical of the brand) but no discernible taste.

DGAF
MAC DGAF Love Me Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a medium-dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that didn’t build up to full coverage. The texture was lightweight, thin, and had enough slip that it didn’t tug on my lips when it was applied in a fluid motion. There was some unevenness present, mostly along the inner portions of my lips, as the color didn’t adhere as well there. There was a smidgen of product that sank into my deeper lip lines as well. It lasted decently for just over four hours on me and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.

Maison Rouge
MAC Maison Rouge Love Me Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a deep, pinky-red with strong, cool undertones and a lightly glossy, cream finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in one stroke, though it had enough slip that it didn’t seem to build up to full coverage either. The consistency was lightweight, thin without feeling clingy, and comfortable to apply and to wear. I was impressed by how smooth the finish appeared on my lips. The color stayed on nicely for over six hours, left a fuchsia stain behind, and was lightly hydrating over time.

I’m loving You’re So Vain and Maisson Rouge! Beautiful shades! Being in late summer as we are, I may be far more inclined to get Maisson Rouge. Haven’t checked it against my vanity yet, though.
DGAF is worthy of its name, I’d say. LOL. Having MAC Paramount, I know I wouldn’t have needed this one anyway. They look nearly identical, except Paramount is more pigmented and way better quality.
Maison Rouge is a stunner — really deep but still red (not burgundy)!
You know it’s a good formula because of the raspberry specks left in.
Great example of ‘you like what you like’ and quite subject to my two dupe rule. DGAF. Four dupes, including the 2 Pats (on sale and closeout,) the Maybelline, and the Nars. They aren’t really that close on me….but close enough not to fall for this one. Like I need it, NOT. Lemming? Definitely.
I love the Dgaf shade, but the lipstick itself isn’t that great. It also seems to be the way that the Bite Beauty Maple shade looks on me (some weird lip chemistry going on there) – the Maple shade is not the orangey shade I thought it would be, but looks more like this one.
I have to say that Maison Rouge looks sensational on you Christine.
Oof … Maison Rouge!
Maison Rouge is just gorgeous! I might have to get it even though I have two dupes that I really love and wear a lot. We’ll see if I splurge on it or not, it all depends on other things that I need to spend my hard earned money on.
