MAC Red Chili & Rusi Woo Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Red Chile
MAC Red Chili Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a deep red with strong, cool blue undertones and a satin finish with barely-there ruby red micro-shimmer. It had nearly opaque color payoff that applied evenly to my lips and didn’t accentuate lip texture or gather into my lip lines.
The consistency was lightweight, slightly firmer initially but not enough to tug or be uncomfortable to apply. It lasted well for over six hours, left a stain behind, and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.
Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.
The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Red Chile
LELimited Edition. $19.00.
Rusi Woo
MAC Rusi Woo Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark red with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single stroke, which adhered evenly and smoothly across my lips without tugging during application.
The texture was lightweight, lightly emollient but slightly firmer in the tube (it warmed up as I applied it) and was forgiving of lip texture/lip lines. It stayed on well for six hours, left a stain behind, and was lightly hydrating over time.

Red lipstick is your super power, Christine.
Red Chili is a super pretty shade of red. I love its slightly luminous look. If I didn’t have so many reds already, mostly unworn the past 18 months, I would have gotten this. Instead, I ordered Spicy Pimentón and Nuez Moscado. Just received them yesterday.
Christine, how would you say they compare to RosalÃa’s Viva Glam 26?
You can compare them here! https://www.temptalia.com/swatch-gallery/#sbs
Lovely red lipsticks, but alas would turn pink on me.
It is called Rubi Woo not Rusi Woo
It is called Rusi Woo, it’s not Ruby Woo. Please check MAC’s site where it is listed as Rusi Woo 🙂
I just came from the website it is called Ruby Woo.
Please see a screenshot – there is a lipstick called Ruby Woo, but this is shade is called Rusi Woo.
They are absolutely lovely, but very dupable. I have lots of dupes, and still I want both!
Red lipsticks are my weakness, I love the colour too much.
