The cooler quint is very beautiful! But considering it’s the same price as the glam palette, I’ll wait to see if they dupe each other.
Hologlam is baaaaack! I missed out on it the first time around. I’m going to try for it this run, though!
The detailed embossing looks too pretty to ruin on those eyeshadow quints, but I wouldn’t mind having the warmer one, though!
Years ago, the Bonne Etoile shadow palette was the same – beautiful stars, raised rather than pressed into the surface – so beautiful and almost too beautiful to mar with use but that didn’t stop me, though it took a long time for any real “damage” to be done to the decoration.
Hologlam 😍
Come on, Dior….just take my credit card!!! I want BOTH of the eyeshadow 5-pans even though I honestly, truly and sincerely do not need them and don’t even like the colour pairings all that much (the silver in House of Dreams isn’t a colour I’d likely wear) but Oh, I still want them both. I’m hoping that I’m so awash in dupes that this racing heart of mine actually slows down a bit. I don’t think I’ve owned a Dior lip products in decades and I personally loathe the packaging of the Diorific lipsticks (honestly, a figure 8? and whose lucky # is 8….it’s like Bert – or was it Ernie – whose lucky # was 4) but Rouge Capucine might put me over the edge….I hope it gets reviewed here so I can get a sense of how it looks, feels, wears…
I knew you would like these!
I have bought one or two of the gold lipsticks over the years. They are hefty and solid and have a non-plasticky elegance to them. Always a pleasure to wear.
I also like both quints and the minaudiere. No idea which Canadian stores will have it. I also have the Hologlam blush. Dior and Chanel normally do holiday collections very well and you can find a gift for someone or even yourself at a semi affordable price point to feel special.
In case you are interested, both Nordstrom and The Bay had this collection online. Hope that helps.
Wow. I’m a little ashamed to admit how much embossing and luxe packaging make me swoon. I don’t necessarily discriminate based on packaging, but packaging can definitely push me over the edge into really wanting it territory. Like none of these colors are groundbreaking territory here, but they really did a lovely job to make this feel holiday gift or splurge-worthy depending on whether you’re giving this to someone else or maybe just yourself – the minaudiere and vernis especially.
I think those quints are going to run together..and that is not my thing. Hologlam looks yummy.
Wowww the advertising for this is so gorgeous. Fortunately, I can get the same effect by turning the lights down, lighting a candle or two on my vanity, and cleaning up the pink blush, red lipstick, and neutral palettes I already own…
What gorgeous marketing though, honestly. The first holiday release that has actually made me look forward to the holidays!
Your comment about turning the lights down and shopping your stash made me laugh 😂 but so true! Marketing is so powerful!
I like how the brand has offered both a cool and warm toned version of neutral shades – quite lovely.
I bet Mariella wants them both! I hope they review well and Dior has fixed up their patchy second shade.
LOL…you know me too well (and I dare say these are appealing to you as well!). In their releases from last year, the 2 quints I got had 2nd shades that were so much better than the 2nd shades in the other palettes in that release. But it does seem to be that 2nd shade that always scores a little or a lot worse than the other shadows in these quints.
Everything looks good, I could easily buy almost everything, I’d skip the warmer quint, the warmer and lighter lipsticks, get the rest and be super happy for at least a week, until I realize the amount spent on this. So I’m going to be sensible and maybe just get one or two items, and what will depend on what Christine thinks about the products, if she has time to review them.
Your statement about being super happy for at least a week….that made me chuckle in recognition. Mind you, at this price point, I always wait for Christine’s reviews rather than chucking money about on something that might be crummy (though I have the feeling that most of these items will be stellar).
I don’t but expensive makeup without Christine’s approval. Well. it does happen, but not after at least her swatches, they are among very few I trust.
“unprecedented eyeshadow shade harmonies”
“Warm shades of brown and gold, and a beige”
Apparently these neutrals have never been seen before!
But Helena, “unprecedented” seems to be the word of the past year and a half…though often used in connection with Covid 19, so maybe not the best choice of adjectives! And you are right that there is nothing new or ground-breaking in those 2 palettes and my brain says I don’t need them and would be a fool to buy them but my greedy little heart feels the “need”.
That blush is not inclusive at all, but the clutch and the nail polish are very interesting! Probably won’t pick up anything but would be interested to see how the nail polish performs
