MAC Lipsticks: Pick Me Pick Me, Model Behavior, On and On, Pink You Think?
MAC Pick Me, Pick Me Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is an icy, smoky lavender with cool undertones and a sparkly finish. It had semi-sheer color payoff, which wasn’t part of the description. It may work better as a layering shade, though the shimmer spread across the lips evenly, which made it wearable as a standalone shade. The color lasted for two and a half hours on me but was neither drying nor hydrating. Urban Decay Monarchy (P, $18.00) is darker (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Cardi (LE, $36.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Urban Decay Reverb (P, $18.00) is darker (85% similar). Bite Beauty Violet Icing (P, $24.00) is more pigmented (85% similar). Surratt Beauty Cultive (P, $36.00) is less shimmery, lighter (85% similar). Too Faced Mermaid Tears (LE, $22.00) is warmer (85% similar). Too Faced Unicorn Tears (DC, $22.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Maybelline Smoked Silver (P, $7.49) is more shimmery, darker, more pigmented (80% similar). MAC Pervette (P, $19.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Trance (LE, $56.00) is darker (80% similar). Too Faced Trampula (LE, $22.00) is darker, more pigmented (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
MAC Model Behavior Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark magenta purple with warm, pink undertones and fine violet shimmer. It had semi-opaque color coverage that went on fairly evenly, though there was a bit of streaking around the edges. The texture was thin, emollient so it did not tug, but it was a bit drying after four and a half hours of wear. Urban Decay Mad Hatter (LE, $18.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Makeup Geek Drumroll (P, $15.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Bite Beauty Grape Glaze (P, $24.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Royal Hour (LE, $19.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Milk Makeup Willow (P, $24.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). Urban Decay Plague (DC, $18.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Pretty Vulgar Made with Mischief (P, $24.00) is darker, more muted, glossier (80% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Scandal (226) (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, darker, more muted (80% similar). MAC On and On Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark, reddish-brown with warm undertones and duochrome sparkle that shifted from green-gold to bluish-teal. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque color payoff, but the consistency was fairly slippery, which resulted in patchier coverage and color that settled into lip lines. The color lasted for almost four hours, so that was an upside, but it just looked bad on its own. This is a deeper, more conventional base shade, so it would work well with a lot of lip liners for added coverage while still getting the uniqueness of the shimmer to come through. Urban Decay Bruja (P, $18.00) is warmer, less glossy (90% similar). Ciate Apollo (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). MAC Hades Fire (LE, $19.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC Musky Amethyst (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Fenty Beauty Sci Fly (LE, $19.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Too Faced That Girl (LE, $22.00) is darker (90% similar). NYX Modern Maven (P, $7.50) is more shimmery, lighter, more pigmented (90% similar). KVD Beauty Mercy (DC, $21.00) is less glossy (90% similar). Urban Decay Purgatory (P, $18.00) is less glossy (90% similar). Milani Chilled Brandy (P, $5.49) is brighter (85% similar). Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Black Metal Dahlia (DC, $18.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). Bite Beauty Molten Chocolate (P, $24.00) is less shimmery, warmer (85% similar). MAC Pink, You Think? Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a bright, medium fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and lighter magenta shimmer. It had semi-opaque color coverage that went on fairly evenly, though some of the shimmer didn’t spread as easily across the lips. The texture had a noticeable feeling from the sparkle, but it wasn’t uncomfortable to apply or to wear. On me, this shade lasted for four and a half hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. Tom Ford Beauty Francesco (LE, $36.00) is darker, cooler (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty John (LE, $36.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Formula Overview
MAC Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is available in several finishes, and the performance tends to vary with the finish. Amplified, Satins, and Mattes tend to have the most pigmentation, longer wear, and more even coverage, but satins and mattes can be drying at times. Lustres are the sheerest, can sometimes be drying, and often wear only an hour or two as they have a lot of slip. Frosts vary from medium to opaque coverage, some shimmer to glitter, and wear an average of four hours. Cremesheens have more slip and medium or better coverage, but they can often settle into lip lines or look streaky if they are lighter in color. All of MAC’s lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

I have Pick Me Pick Me as a layering lippie and I love it’s shimmery purple goodness.. the weird part, it is pretty much what I was expecting from On and On which swatches absolutely nothing like the bullet.
LOL! These seem to swatch a bit different, partially as they are sheerer overall.
I like the icy lavendar in Pick Me, Pick Me, reminds me of winter. And Model Behavior is pretty! I like that berry color with blue shimmer
Model Behavior is a fun one!
Wow. Glad I passed on On and On! Thanks for the review!
No problem, Michele!
I had to return On and On–it looked awful on me. It looks much better on you. Lipsticks aside, I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw your eye look. Wow!
Aww, bummer to hear it didn’t work on you, Tammy!
I would love to use On And On as a topper over a dark shade like Deep Love! Something tells me that would be gorgeous. ?
And I also love Model Behavior, but wish it had a denser level of pigment. I still really do like it, though!
On and On would definitely work as a layering shade!
Pink you think is actually pretty good. I think it might be a tad much. I prefer the UD shimmer finishes for sure.
Ahh, gotcha! 🙂
pick me pick me kind of looks like hellraiser from a 2010 (I think?) collection! can anyone who has hellraiser confirm? I’ve been looking everywhere for it for years to no avail! 🙁
Hellraiser is was a warmer mauvey color, I’d say.
I sort of like all of these, not going to get them all though, I think. I want Pick Me, Pick Me and Pink, You Think most out of these. I think it’s a pity that On and On was kind of bad. It looked interesting.
It’ll be fun to swatch and decide 🙂
Let me know whether you end up picking any of these up, Helene!
How does Pink You Think compare to Dance Off Pants Off from the MAC Trolls collection?
You can compare any two here! 🙂 http://www.temptalia.com/swatch-gallery/#sbs
On and On is very disappointing. When these were announced that was the one I thought sounded most interesting. I actually like Pick Me a bit. I can see it’s not the best but the color and effect is pretty.
Well, those are a bust I won’t be buying any of them.
I think all of these would be beautiful for layering. Pink You Think is the only one I like on its own.
On and on looks like the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen…in the bullet. ? Why oh why couldn’t MAC have made it look just like the bullet.
These are definitely on the sheer side. I love how Model Behavior looks in the tube, but I can’t say I’m totally hating the swatched color either. Thanks for the helpful reviews!
I’ve been debating on getting Pick Me,Pick Me and Soft Hint from another review of these to use as toppers.I just don’t understand how MAC released some of these into their permenant collection. In the tube they look beautiful on the lips they look totally different!
They should be released as Sheer Frosts or some other finish – they are sheer enough to be used as layering shades for sure, but they are odd replacements for older frosts, as they were much more pigmented on the whole.
I’m shocked at how not blue “Pick Me Pick Me” is on! The funny thing about “On and On” is it reminds me of Urban Decay Solstice eyeshadow, which I crushed up and dumped into some Buxom lip gloss and it looks wayyyyyy better than MAC’s attempt! Haha
Your pictures make lipsticks that I would never want irresistible to me. So I’m so confused why when I swatch lipsticks like pick me pick me or soft hint they look better in person. It’s literally the 1st time that has ever happened. I always feel like your pics get more lipsticks sold then anything the companies who are selling them do. I literally will buy something and still come look at ur pics just to see how good it could look!
I would guess that those are both shades that have more iridescence to them, so in person, they have more sparkle/movement than they do in a still photo. Your lip color might be a lot prettier than mine (which is very ugly), and as they are sheerer shades, your natural lip color will have a huge impact!
Usually, I look up reviews before I get products, but I’m glad I didn’t do this in the case of “On and On”. I adore this shade so much and if I had looked at your review I’d probably had never even swatched it.
I can’t begin to describe how different On and On looks in me. Very duochrome-blue/green. Sheer and nowhere near this red or brown. I’m shocked it’s the same lipstick. Natural lip color must really affect it. It’s one of my favorite recent lipstick purchases.
