Revlon Wild Orchid is a moderately cool-toned, dark fuchsia with a pearl finish. It is a permanent lipstick that retails for $8.49 and contains 0.15 oz.

Editor's Review

Revlon Wild Orchid Super Lustrous Lipstick ($8.49 for 0.15 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a cooler pink shimmer. It had semi-opaque color payoff in a single layer, which was buildable to nearly full coverage with two three passes (a little more pigmented than anticipated based off of the marketing). It had a smooth, balm-like texture that was lightweight, easy to apply and comfortable to wear, and the color went on evenly without gathering in my lip lines. This shade stayed on nicely for five hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

I never in a million years thought this shade would work for me. I decided to purchase a few of the new Revlon's shades and while in the store saw Wild Orchid and said 'why not' as the price point is so affordable. I put off even trying this shade and when it did, holy moly! Even my husband said it really brightened up my face and said it looked so much better than the other shades I tried on. I realized that I was stuck wearing shades that looked great on me in my 30's, but now that I'm older, my skin tone has changed, I stopped coloring my hair and my natural hair color and now grey hairs had also changed the way I look. In other words I had been 'warming up' my hair color with highlights since my natural color is just so ashy. Combine that with my neutral skin tone, I leaned more towards warmer shades to compliment that. Now that I have embraced my natural hair color my skin tone has shifted back to cool. While I'm used to wearing very muted shades, Wild Orchid made me realize I shouldn't be afraid of 'lighting up' my face just because of my age. In other words, an epiphany was had with this shade. As for the wear - all the Revlon lippies are excellent to apply and it's easy to correct the lipline with a Q-tip. I found two good swipes were all I needed and the color lasted a good amount of time and through a light dinner and coffee. This is the fifth lipstick from this line I purchased since Christine posted her swatches and I've been pleased with every one!
