FORMULA SUMMARY | MAC Velvetease Lip Pencil ($20.00 for 0.05 oz.) is supposed to have “the vivid colour impact of a lipstick” with a “smooth” and “matte finish.” The pencil has a really soft, smooth texture that is thin and glides on without tugging or skipping, but it is noticeably thin on the lips, which I find can be unforgiving if you have any dryness or flakiness on your lips. The wear is between three and five hours with lighter shades disappearing more quickly and deeper shades lasting a little longer and/or staining. They are slightly drying to just not drying (but none are hydrating). Overall, they are comfortable to wear, but a few shades tend to look patchy as they wear down on me. They are twist-up, jumbo-sized lip pencils, so they don’t require sharpening (no waste!). Keep in mind, twist-up jumbo pencils like this one often contain less product than a traditional lipstick (which usually contain 0.10 to 0.15 oz.).

Reddy To Go looks quite festive !
It is a very holiday-esque shade!
Oh no! Promise Me looks like a desert on your lips. I am not feeling the look of this formula at all.
LOL! Right? Some of these are sooo unforgiving on, even if they don’t feel as bad on.
Oh Honey is a great shade, fits perfectly into the current muted brown lip trend!
It is a pretty color!
I’m really sad the lighter shades are all so sheer. 🙁
🙁 I hear you!
Reddy to Go is a beautiful red. It really suits you. Oh Honey is actually quite pretty, even though it’s a bit on the yellow side.
Thank you, Rachel!
A dupe for Oh, Honey is in order! Either MAC Persistence or UD Carnal.
Oh, and that red is super glam and well done, too. But I’ve got different red lippys up the wazoo.
So 2 really nice ones….and then Promise Me. It actually DOES look dry. And corpse-y!
Carnal has my vote 😉
I was expecting Reddy to be much more “brick”. It’s kind of bright still for the Brick title. Very pretty on you!
Thank you, Erin!
Christine I know you are swapped with reviews, bless your heart! But can you sometime give instruction on some of your eye looks? So pretty , would be great to try and duplicate ! I really loved the last two eye looks, makes any lipstick look good!
Reddy to go looks just like my kind of color.
I do like lip pencils but have several by Clinique. Those are balls so are moisturizing. I’ll stay with those.
Oh, Honey is my type of shade.
