MAC My Tweedy, Impulsive, Scattered Petals Powder Kiss Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
My Tweedy
MAC My Tweedy Powder Kiss Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a deep peach with warm, orange undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a smooth, velvety texture that was lightweight and comfortable to apply in a fluid motion. The lipstick emphasized my lip texture and found any imperfections on my lips, and it did pull into my lip lines from the beginning and worsened over the three hours it lasted for. It felt non-drying while worn.

Formula Overview
$22.00/0.1 oz. - $220.00 Per Ounce
MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.10 oz.) is supposed to feel "weightless" with a "blur of effortless soft-focus color." Per the brand, the formula "provides immediate and long-term hydration" while "blur[ring] lines and smooth[ing] lips" and having "zero-shine." They have a bit of shine and slip; I wouldn't call them zero-shine so much as very smooth and more like a natural or soft matte finish. Like any finish with slight shine, they did wear down to a more, flat matte finish within an hour or so of wear. The consistency was lightweight, thin, and velvety with a bit of slip (a little like a silicone primer to me) and was comfortable to wear with a non-drying to lightly hydrating feel.
The pigmentation ranged from semi-opaque to opaque with deeper shades having more coverage. There were a few very light shades, which did not apply as evenly and had a tendency to catch on any imperfections on my lips, whereas the deeper shades went on more smoothly and looked more flattering on as they were less likely to emphasize texture. They lasted between two and a half and six hours with deeper shades, unsurprisingly, lasting longer than the ultra-light ones.
I personally found the scent of these to be noticeably different, both that it was sweeter and less vanilla-based but I also got a strong rubber scent that came through. The scent did not linger for long, so it wasn't something that I detected throughout the wear, but it had a strong, sweet taste that was present until it was gone. Other readers who have smelled the formula in person did not catch any rubber/off-putting scent (my husband thought it smelled weird, not bad per se, but couldn't be more specific), and when I went back to double check each shade, each one of mine still had that rubbery note.

Impulsive
MAC Impulsive Powder Kiss Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a light-medium brown with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage that applied evenly to my lips without dragging or tugging on them. The consistency felt very lightweight and thin, but it didn’t look or feel clingy on my lips, and it had a natural finish to it that took an hour or so to mattify. It wore well for three and a half hours and was lightly moisturizing over time.

Scattered Petals
MAC Scattered Petals Powder Kiss Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a light-medium pink with stronger, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. This was one of the few shades that looked closer to matte from the initial application, whereas a lot of the other shades had to wear down to a matte finish over time. The pigmentation was good, though it wasn’t opaque, and the color had a tendency to pull away at and settle into my lip lines. The texture was lightweight, thin without feeling clingy, though it looked clingy as it emphasized my lip texture. It lasted for three hours but faded unevenly and settled more noticeably into my lip lines. The formula felt neither drying nor hydrating to me.

Impulsive is very pretty, but is not something that is necessary for me. Maybe if I didn’t have so many similar shades. Too bad about the other two shades.
I really like Impulsive and with your good review will probably get it later today. I just love warm browns.
Between the above and also YT video reviews with live lip swatches, I knew that I Impulsive would be one I would have to get. It’s that *just right* tone of a lighter brown that I can not only pull off, but look really good in it, too!
I also love the color of My Tweedy, but I already have several peachy shades that I love, so nope.
Not great performance from these lipsticks. I was hoping they would be better but these aren’t shades I can pull off anyway so not a loss for me. These shades look like they would work for quite a few people so hope they see your reviews before they purchase!!
I don’t really like these shades, too mattish, too browny that I think would be unflattering to a lot of skintones. The pink lipstick is pretty, but there would be ColourPop dupes that are of better quality at half the price.
Aw, I was hoping for more from this formula because it does look appealing in theory – a non drying, lightweight matte lipstick sounds great, and the texture in the tube looks so pretty. But the lack of consistency in quality plus not really being a fan of the Impulsive colour means I may have to give this one a miss, unless you review any surprising hits from the collection in the future!
