Givenchy Nude Androgyne, Pourpre Defile, Rose Graphique Le Rouge Mats Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Nude Androgyne
Givenchy Nude Androgyne Le Rouge Mat ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark coral with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that covered the lips fairly evenly. The lipstick had a thin, velvety texture (felt more like a silicone face primer than a typical lipstick!), which helped it glide nicely across the lips, but there was slight color that pulled into my deeper lip lines. It wore well for three and a half hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

Givenchy released a new, matte finish of their Le Rouge lipstick range. It's supposed to have "an ultra-velvety intensely matte" finish where "one stroke is all it takes to saturate lips in plush, opulence color that lasts and lasts." While I've been a fan of the original Le Rouge formula since it launched, I found the Le Rouge Mats to be rather disappointing. The pigmentation varied but was rarely opaque--certainly not one-stroke "maximum coverage"--and the lipstick itself seemed to gravitate toward my lip lines and any imperfections on my lips. I always make sure to exfoliate my lips prior to doing a round of lip swatches about an hour ahead of time (to give them time to soak up some lip balm and calm down, in case they reddened at all!), and this formula tended to emphasize.
The texture was velvety and had a lot of slip without feeling wet--it felt packed with silicones like a face primer--so they were comfortable to apply, thin without being clingy, but they lasted between four and five hours on me with minimal staining with the deeper shades. The formula was lightly hydrating on me overall. They did have a floral scent but no discernible taste.

Pourpre Defile
Givenchy Pourpre Defile Le Rouge Mat ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark, burgundy red with cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. The color payoff was semi-opaque and not buildable to full coverage. The consistency was lightweight, thin but not clingy, and velvety with good glide yet did not feel slick or wet. It seemed to emphasize the texture of my lips and clumped in places. The color stayed on well for five hours and was lightly moisturizing.

Rose Graphique
Givenchy Rose Graphique Le Rouge Mat ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. The pigmentation wasn’t quite opaque as described, and it did not build up well. The texture felt thin but not clingy (or drying), but it was particularly unflattering as the color slipped into my lip lines and emphasized the texture of my lips noticeably. This shade wore well for three and a half hours and was lightly hydrating.

The only one of the 3 doing anything for me is Nude Androgyne. And I have dupes for it that look nicer, like; CP Mrs.
This formula *looks* very dry, even if it doesn’t feel dry.
Whilst I like the second shade (the burgundy red), the others were fairly average in colour. But the biggest dismay was the price and the rating – they should have been stellar. Colour Pop is still better.
Nude Androgyne is a nice color, but if it pulls into the deeper lip lines, no way. I’ll go look at the dupes instead.
The colors are not my favorites, and the finish does not look plush – these are not for me.
Rose Graphique is such a beautiful color. What a shame about the performance.
