ColourPop Truly Iconic Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Truly Iconic
ColourPop Truly Iconic 9-Pan Shadow Palette (Plastic) ($12.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a cooler-toned neutral color story that included more muted and gray-based browns and taupes paired with fairly light shimmers. The formulas for the eyeshadows in the palettes made for Target seemed slightly different than the brand’s average formula. The shimmers were more loosely-pressed and a little dry, which made them more prone to fallout during application and using a firmer, flatter brush and/or fingertip seemed to help them adhere more evenly. The matte shades seemed less powdery compared to the brand’s typical mattes and slightly thinner, though in a neutral way, as they seemed to apply evenly and blend out without issues overall.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Believe it or not, I see some very beautiful, smokey with spotlights of glimmer types of looks that I could get from this little palette! Then again, same if just pull out my PML Mothership and MTHRSHP palettes or even some of my older existing palettes from various brands.
Interesting palette , like some shades look like they’re in other palettes but Mashup looks really nice and I would love that . But maybe I should look for a dupe instead .
Yeahhh I think this one is coming with me on my next Target excursion. x)
Coming *home* with me, I mean!
The 1st and 3rd column of this palette are very close dupes…
It is quite a nice cool toned palette – but I do wish that CP had not made it a lower quality formula for Target – it’s a bit like cheating your customers with something less than stellar because of its destination (a Target shop).
I really don’t need anymore palettes, but this one looks very nice and it’s so affordable.
Yay!
I have a dupe for the one shade I really like in this palette, Mashup. I have Steel(etto) from Marc Jacobs, a palette I’ve not used in ages. I guess it’ll be located tomorrow and used for a mashed up look. 😀
“Iconic” is one of those annoying words that needs to be retired. Along with ‘obsessed’. And ‘stunning’.
I could go on. And on.
Rant for the day…
