Blackout is a medium-dark black with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a slightly drier, stiffer formula, but it didn't take too much extra effort to blend out (workable for sure, particularly when applied in sheerer layers and built up). It wore well for seven and a half hours on me.
