ColourPop Fortune Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches

Fortune

Colour Pop Fortune 16-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($22.00 for 0.64 oz.) is a new warm-toned set of shades in various finishes and depths. I felt that the palette was cohesive, and it was slightly more red/plum-based compared to past ColourPop palettes (which have read more golden or more orange to my eye). For those who haven’t picked up palettes in similar color schemes, it would be a nice one to consider.

CREAM

CREAM is a soft, light-medium gold with warm, orange undertones and a pearly sheen. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was soft, smooth, and cream-like. It applied well to bare skin and blended out effortlessly. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours on me.

Formula Overview

$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Mo Problems

Mo Problems is a soft, light brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque, while it had a smooth, velvety texture that was slightly powdery in the pan, but I found it applied and blended out well on the lid. Oracle

Oracle is a soft, peachy gold with warm undertones and a metallic finish. The texture was drier and more loosely-pressed, which resulted in sheerer color coverage that was better applied with a dampened brush. It stayed on well for seven and a half hours on me.

Stacks

Stacks is a medium, golden copper with warm undertones and a metallic finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that applied fairly evenly to bare skin but was best applied in a pressing motion. The consistency was more loosely pressed in the pan, so there was some kick up in the pan when I used it, but I didn’t have issues with fallout during application. The eyeshadow lasted for eight hours on me before creasing faintly.

Racks

Racks is a medium-dark, coppery red with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The pigmentation was good, just shy of truly full coverage, and was buildable. It wore well for eight hours on me before it started to fade.

Strike It

Strike It is a deep plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage that applied fairly evenly to bare skin but did take slightly more effort to diffuse and blend out compared to other shades in the palette–not bad at all for a deeper, matte shade like this in general, though. The color stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Hello. Wanted to know how close do you think the colour scheme is to huda beauty palette remastered. I have done the palette comparison on your site and they look close in the pictures . However was wondering what your thoughts are since you have both on hand. Thank you

I have both and this is definitely more gold and berries than Huda, which leans more pink in my opinion, even more so in the Remastered version. The transition shades in Remastered are cooler. In all honesty, you could achieve very similar looks from both though and for the price difference, I would recommend this every time over Remastered. It also helps that the metallics and shimmers in this palette don’t require any extra work, whereas they absolutely do in Remastered – even though she claimed to have reformulated them, they definitely can’t be applied as easily as your average shadow.

I am so happy this scored well, and you created SUCH a beautiful eye look with it, too! I have dupes for a few of these shades, but not enough to keep me from purchasing it.

LOVELY. ALL OF IT.

I know I have similar shadows already and I could spend ages going through dupes and mixing and matching but quite frankly, I’d rather drop the $22 on it and be happy with it all in one palette.

This is a really good interpretation of the shades that are most popular at the moment. Excellent quality at a very reasonable price.
Beautiful eye looks too Christine.

I was hoping this would be a cheaper dupe for Modern Renaissance (which I accidentally gave away – it was on my ‘table of shame’ where I keep everything that is more than half brown – my most hated color -and I told a friend she could take anything on that table. She’ll probably use it more than me as she doesn’t have much makeup, so it’s in a good home, but I do kind of miss it), but they really aren’t that similar in anything other than theme.

In other news: of course it’s better than the cooler version. Of course.

MORE reds, more oranges, more “unwearable for me”….I wonder when this trend will slow down. It’s one reason I was so happy to see that Dior palette in the cooler colours.

I’m happy to see how well this one scored because I bought it as soon as I saw it. I’m also happy Miser isn’t a dupe for Glass Bull and many other similar colors that I already own. Pleased with my purchase!

I don’t think I need this but I wanted a blush and I needed to spend another $22 for free shipping so here it comes. Seriously, though, I don’t own MR and these shades look good on me.
