Chanel Rouge d’Or (127) Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour ($45.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a vivid, medium red with neutral-to-warm undertones and a luminous sheen with ultra-fine, barely-there pearl. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly to bare lips and applied smoothly without tugging on them.
The texture was ultra lightweight, smooth, and thin without feeling clingy and didn’t emphasize my lip lines. The color stayed on well for six and a half hours, left a light stain behind, and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to have a "satin finish" with "ultra-thin pigments" that yield "full coverage" while also having a moisturizing base. Most shades in the range have a satin to luminous finish--not glossy but they have a luminosity to them that gives the appearance of lighter-weight color and smoother, fuller lips that a true satin finish doesn't have (in my experience).
The texture has a more velvety feel--smooth with great glide but not a lot of wetness, so they go on comfortably but feel very lightweight and thin but don't emphasize lip lines/lip texture. The coverage tends to be more semi-opaque to opaque, so they aren't always living up to the "full coverage" claim.
Most shades wear four hours or longer with some of the deeper and richer hues lasting six hours or more, and the formula has been hydrating for me. They have a subtle, floral scent but no discernible taste.

Chanel Pourpre d’Or (137) Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour ($45.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deeper, reddened berry with subtle, cool undertones and a luminous finish with fine, red pearl woven throughout. It had semi-opaque color coverage paired with a lightweight, thin, and smooth consistency that was comfortable and easy to apply to bare lips.
The downside was that it did not apply as evenly as it could have, and it seemed more prone to catching on minor texture imperfections. It lasted well for five and a half hours, left a slightly stain behind, and felt moisturizing while worn.

Rouge d’Or is such a lovely, clear red! Perfect really. But I’m pretty sure I have something similar, no?
As for Pourpre d’Or, I sure do wish it had been better than this, as I really love a good berry toned red vampy lip!
