What kind of eyeshadow colors don't pique your interest?
Brighter, more neon matte shades don’t get me that excited – I’ll enjoy using them here and there but don’t get that interested in them just by seeing them.

all cool toned mattes. or like- beige neutrals.
I am super picky! No bright pink, no orange, no red, nada. Also anything super muted or “dirty” looking- the “grungy” colors people seem to love are total turn-offs.
I hate purple in general lol. Super saturated brights and super dark, dense colors don’t excite me either.
Matte shadows in general. I think they’re useful for pulling together a look, but they’re not “fun” to me in the way that like, a colorful multichrome is.
Cool neutrals. I don’t get the hype about Natasha Denona glam palette
All those matte (and every shimmery) pinks, reds, magentas and fuchsias. Also those pale matte shades of turquoise, “landlord green”, baby blue – what I think of as “institutional” colours because those did used to be the paint shades used in hospitals and schools.
Oops – that should be “even shimmery” – sorry for the typo
Mostly purples. Rainbow palettes generally don’t interest me. I don’t really do pastels or neons
Intense brights
Shimmers which cast whitish
There are a lot of colours I do not typically wear: yellow, green, blue – listed highest offender first.
Anything too saturated in a primary color. I’m a soft summer in my complexion, so those colors just don’t work on me. Except for the purple, which looks great with my green/gray eyes, the image you used for this post is my worst possible palette, lol.
Pastels that have a white base never will tempt me.
Me either, Lesley. They look so ashy and dull on me.
Yellows, golds, oranges and reds make me look sick
Any formula of pastels, white, neons, primary colors and brights
Neutrals for sure. They’re just no fun! I’m not interested in mattes in general either, but I’ll use them if I don’t have a shimmer to replace them with. Warm tones don’t look great on me. I only rarely use yellow or orange shades. I prefer saturated colors, but muted or grungy ones are okay sometimes.
Repellants: bright pinks, anything red or neon, whitish pastels, very dark tones, cool purples or blues. Even worse if they’re matte.
Meh: cool neutrals, mattes except for shaping/lining
Glad, thanks for reminding me about something I forgot: white-based pastels! They look like pure ashiness on my lids.
Whitish pastels are definitely something I forgot on my list. ?
I also used to avoid blue, but with age I started to appreciated darker jewel toned blues.
Neutrals, especially brown. Borrrrring! Give me all the colour!
I think that most really pastel shades, especially if they are sheer. I also don’t really gravitate towards golds and copper shades. I will use them but I do prefer silver, platinum, bronze type shades.
Grays and silvers, because they just don’t usually look very good on me. But I will wear a silvery green, taupe or mauve, though.
Not a fan of true blues, either. Especially not light or medium blue!
Or neon anything, even though I do wear some very bright eyeshadow shades at times.
Anything too yellow, orange, red, pink… those hours make me look sick. Too warm toned in general. Neon or too bright colors don’t fit my style.
Like you Christine – I don’t wear any kind of neon shades at all – they just don’t suit me.
I don’t like yellows, mustards, pinks, reds, oranges, caramel brown shades, black, white, generally purples or fawn shades and definitely not in matte finishes. Very dark shades are not my preference either.
Chunky Glitter is no bueno for me ..also beiges , grey’s and chalky whites and pinks , pastels don’t just do nothing for my eye color.
.
I got that Huda palette in the Mauves, and I was rarely able to make a good look out of the shadows, particularly those really dark burgundy or oxblood. At least they came in hand when I dressed up as a vampire bunny. ?♀️ ?
Any pastel, also yellow and that’s it, I think. Oh, almost forgot, chunky glitters, any colour.
White-biased pastels, blacks, dark matte taupes, muddy browns, and sky blue. Matte grays: I love gray for lips and clothes, but matte grays are not flattering with my eye color. Really yellowy browns and mustards: I don’t mind all of them as much as I used to, but I’m not attracted to them, either. Matte beige, tan, medium and light taupe, brown, etc. don’t usually pique my interest, but I don’t dislike them.
*White based pastels. Autocorrect is annoying.
I pass on shades of pink, purple, blue, grey or silver. Basically anything that lacks warmth does nothing for my complexion. Also, neons are useless for me.
Orange! I just think orange and warm toned ‘nuetrals’ look boring and dull on my eyes. On the lips though… divine!
Bright, neon not for me also and “dirty” looking eyeshadows or with a silver reflection or with strong white base.
Neons, “box of Crayolas” super-brights. I am not a Mardi Gras float.
I don’t flip for blues on myself, I think they make my eye color look dull even though I see other people pull off that pop of blue. I’m not into a true bright orange either, peachy shades and coppers work for me but no to cheeto inspired shades.
The only colors I really don’t like for me are warm teals and mint greens. I just don’t find either of those work well for me.
Yellows – unless it’s a very bright primary yellow it doesn’t do me any favors in general. As an eye shadow it honestly intimidates me so I haven’t gone there yet. Beyond that mauves… I started wearing makeup in the 90s when it felt like it was all mauve all the time and I’m still not over it.
Ditto for me! No more neon palettes. I you have one or even two, that will do!
