BUXOM Pink Coquette Bold Gel Lipstick
BUXOM Pink Coquette Bold Gel Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.09 o z.) is described as a “satin bright warm pink.” It’s a light-medium, yellow-toned pink with a creamy, glossy finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff with a creamy, emollient texture that had a moderate amount of slip. The formula was moisturizing and comfortable to wear, but it only lasted for four hours with minor settling into lip lines. YSL Corail Jalouse (32) (P, $34.00) is glossier (95% similar). Estee Lauder Impulsive (P, $32.00) is lighter (95% similar). Urban Decay Morning After (DC, $18.00) is cooler (90% similar). Urban Decay Native (DC, $18.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). Burberry Nude Pink (205) (P, $34.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Gal (LE, $36.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). BUXOM Ultraviolet Bold Gel Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.09 o z.) is described as a “matte bright violet.” It’s a bright, medium-dark magenta purple with cool undertones and a flat, matte finish. This was the most matte shade that I tried from the six I bought. It had good pigmentation with a velvety-smooth texture that didn’t drag or tug on the lips, but it does cling slightly. On me, the color wore well for six hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. Urban Decay Bittersweet (DC, $22.00) is darker (95% similar). Urban Decay Exhibition (DC, $18.00) is glossier (95% similar). Urban Decay Wavelength (P, $22.00) is less glossy (95% similar). Urban Decay Bittersweet (DC, $18.00) is glossier (95% similar). BUXOM Voodoo Spice Bold Gel Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.09 o z.) is described as a “matte deep blue red.” It’s a deep, burgundy red with subtle, cooler pink tones and a semi-matte finish. It had good color coverage (almost opaque but not quite!) that applied evenly and smoothly without tugging on the lips. On me, it wore for a solid six hours and was very slightly hydrating. Not sure if I can pull it off, but Ultraviolet looks pretty for spring. And Voodoo is definitely my kind of color, but I have multiple dupes in my stash right now, but glad it scored well for those who are interested
I bet you could 😉
Thank you for reviewing these! I’ve been very curious about them.
No problem, Chelsea! 🙂
I love those last two! Buxom is a brand I never pay much attention to, but I have no idea why. Might be time to change that
I know what you mean! It’s hard to think of bareMinerals/BUXOM as underrated, but sometimes I think they’re less discussed on the internet even though they must be quite popular via QVC etc.
I don’t care for Pink Coquette. Too milky. I love Ultraviolet and Spice, though.
Ultraviolet is so cool!
I like all three. I think a lip liner could help out the first. Most really light colors like that need a pencil for me even my Bobbi brown Luxe. I like the Vodoo Spice the best out of the lot. May be worth a try on. 🙂
I bet the lip liner would help it a lot!
Love that Voodoo colour – just perfect for autumn and winter. Really pretty on you Christine.
These look amazing! I’ll have to check them out.
Kinda diggin’ Voodoo Spice!
Every colour looks real nice on you! BUXUM does deserve notice – I just recently discovered their Show some skin line. Really nice.
Not certain when I’d try one of those, but Ultraviolet is right up my alley! Voodoo Spice is a gorgeous darker red, which tend not to do all that well, so that makes this a nice surprise!
Aw, I wish Pink Coquette went on a little more coral like in the tube, but still, pretty shade, very girly and cute.
the violet ?
Love Voodoo Spice! Ultraviolet is cool but that particular shade looks terrible on me in clothing so I doubt a lippy would work any better, sadly.
