FORMULA SUMMARY | Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is supposed to have one-stroke color coverage with a hydrating, smoothing formula, and “nourishing shine.” I was impressed with the formula as a whole, as the majority of the shades were very pigmented in one pass with a creamy consistency that glided on easily. There’s a richness to the texture that does feel more “luxe” in a way. The natural-to-luminous shine level gives lips a smoother, plumper look, while the formula itself is hydrating and many shades are longer-wearing. I noticed that the lighter shades tended to perform more poorly relative to more light-medium to medium-dark-hued shades. There was a faint floral scent (that was a surprise, I wish they had gone the unscented!), but I didn’t have issues with taste and found it very subtle on (it’s no Dior/Chanel-level scent!). In general, I like Bobbi Brown’s lipstick formulas, and this one feels creamier and more hydrating than others, but for pigmentation, you can’t go wrong with this or the Rich Lip Color formula.

I was at the mall yesterday and had to try some of these on after reading your first round of reviews. Pink Buff went home with me. So pretty and feels so good on the lips without being a slippery mess. I see a new lipstick obsession in this one.

Christine, do you know if Bare nude is maybe a Laura Mercier exclusive or something? I was looking to try that one too. But, Nordstrom didn’t even have it stocked. I love Pink Nude though. So, it’s all good!

Nicole Avatar

No problem Laura. I was worried about that too. They feel super nice on the lips. I bought Pink nude and opted for a liner under it and it wore really well. I would just say wipe off all lip balm before you apply. You won’t really need it with these. 🙂

I love the way these look on you Christine!! I’ve never bought anything from Bobbi Brown for some reason, I don’t know why because Bobbi herself is awesome and I love the fact that the brands motto is enhancing peoples natural beauty rather than masking it. These really do look gorgeous but I think I’m covered with MAC Brave since I’m more into bright lip colours rather than MLBB shades x

Oooh, that Neutral Rose looks pretty! I have one of the dupes already (Maybelline Touch of Spice) and have been eyeing the others. This collection has some great, wearable colors

I love all three! These are the type of shades that work as nudes on my medium warm skin tone and naturally mauve colored lips. If I go any lighter, I have to use concealer over my lips. Glad to hear they performed so well. I have one Bobby Brown lip color and has the creamy, opaque coverage that I love. These might have to part of my October beauty budget.

Christine, Thank you for the thorough review of this new lipstick. I’ve been wearing BB lipsticks for two years and enjoyed great success with the various formulas. I was dismayed to read that this new line is scented. Dior, Chanel, etc., lipsticks are too heavily scented for my severe allergies. Shame on BB for adding scent to a lipstick–Soft Berry would have been a buy.

Well, I guess I’m so predictable, because of course I love all 3! They dupe 3 of my absolute favorite lippys, Royally Riotous, Touch Of Spice, and TF Pink Chocolate, too! Funny how I always forget that these lipsticks are my *true* throw-and-go’s, along with MAC Cosmo ( GORGEOUS), Mac Marque and UD Liar!
( Pink Buff is STILL tempting! )

Wow I like these so much more than I thought I would!! I have to grab soft Berry, sounds like the formula is fantastic and it’s a beauty. These look so nice on you! I’m definitely inspired to try them after seeing them on you in full face pictures!

Soft Berry reminds me of one of my favourite lipsticks in the 90s – it was a Clinique one, called Berry Buff (long since discontinued!). If the scent doesn’t bother me, I’ll be getting that at counter.

Renee Avatar

Christine, you make any shade look sensational with your model perfect pout!!

Anyhow I picked up Maybelline Touch of Spice this weekend. Wowza!! I is a shockingly beautiful shade. I felt oh so glamorous in it. It has to been seen and tried to appreciate the velvety beauty and unbelievable pigment. Even the hubs said it was just beautiful, and he is not easily impressed!! 😉

Soft berry is so pretty on you! I ran out to swatch it for myself—–too dark on me though. My first choice was neutral rose, but it swatches a lot like my Laura Mercier Lip parfait in Raspberry Ripple (which I love)

I’ve been wearing Soft Berry for a few days and I think it may be … drumroll … the HOLY GRAIL. Soft Berry in this formula is perfect: one pass and blot for a light stain or a couple swipes to build the color and, either way, it wears for hours. Normally my lipstick slides off by the time I’m out the door. I typically never put on just one lipstick without adding a gloss (or 3), maybe a liner, etc. Now the cosmetic case in my purse is pretty empty. I’m sure a gloss would add a little something, but this lipstick doesn’t need anything. It is just right on its own. Amazing. Thank you for the great review as always, Christine!

I love all 3 shades, they’re neutral but have something interesting in them. How’s Neutral Rose compare to Burberry lip velvet in 307 Rose Pink, Christine? 😀

Trying to decide between Bobbi Brown Soft Berry, Neutral Rose or Chanel Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle. All are pricey. Can you tell me between Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color and Chanel Rouge Coco which is sheerer?
