5 Faves: Satin Lipsticks for Fall 2015

I find that I actually prefer a satin finish to a matte one as a personal preference; satins have a little sheen and offer more comfort than your average matte, but they aren’t truly glossy either. Here are some of my favorites for fall!

  1. Urban Decay Backtalk — a muted rosy pink
  2. Maybelline Touch of Spice — a medium-dark rose
  3. NARS Vivien — a rosy berry
  4. Estee Lauder Unattainable — a reddish-berry pink
  5. Urban Decay 1993 — a muted brown

Maybelline Nude Nuance is such a great shade! It doesn’t look that exciting in the tube or swatched on the hands, but on the lips, it’s one of few warm peachy browns that don’t make me look sick, and it goes so well with khaki olive shadows and smoky grey eyes. Definitely a big fave! Also love Maybelline Touch of Spice and Untainted Spice too.

I love Maybelline Touch of Spice! I recently picked up UD 1993 and almost forgot about it lol. I need to pull it out this week. It’s such a beautiful fall nude!

I purchased the Back talk after your review. It looked beautiful on you. But… It looked more peachy on me, and dull and flat. Not good.

Love your choices here! All beautiful ones, Christine. Only weird thing is that on me, UD 1993 and Maybelline Touch Of Spice appear more matte, Idk why though?
Having seen these, I now feel compelled to try on Nars Vivian and Estee Lauder Unattainable for a more punchy, cheery berry shade!

I’d have to say MAC Rebel, Bite Beauty Juniper, ColourPop Frida (it’s technically a matte but it looks more satin on me), MAC Steam Heat, and NARS Brigitte (not specifically for fall but it works year-round).

I just love all your top 5 favourites. These a great lipsticks to purchase and many of them are inexpensive. I do really like the Maybelline Colour Sensational range.

Another great list! I love these because they always make me realize I have a great collection going. I just pulled Vivien out of a drawer. I somehow had forgotten about that one. Such a pretty shade!

Maybelline Touch of Spice looks lovely… I think I need to pick that one up! I love matte lip colors… but sometimes my lips need a little break… especially as we are headed into the winter season.

I’m with you on the satin vs matte finish. EVERYBODY is doing mattes these days and I’m pretty much over it on the matte stuff. I like a more natural finish, not heavy gloss, but satin is my favorite, too. I really like that Nars color. I may have to check it out.

I’m sort of mad at Nars, or Sephora for not having Vivien. I really don’t get why they don’t have the full range.
I’ll have to see if Maybelline Touch of Spice is available here, it looks so good for easy everyday wear.
