Blushes Under $15 | 2019 Editor's Favorites

With over 200 blushes reviewed in 2019, it takes some ruthlessness to whittle down a list (thank goodness I can at least split between under and over $15). With the addition of ColourPop’s Blush Stix this year, there was a nice influx in cream blushes available, and it was just icing on the cake that they were priced at $8 each.  While Dior’s Hologlam was one of my top product favorites from 2018, Sydney Grace’s Paris Skies occupies that space in 2019.

If you’re unfamiliar with how I like to do my year-end favorites, here’s the low down: I pull from the products I reviewed in 2019, regardless of whether they were new, limited edition, or an established range I’ve only just gotten around to reviewing. These are personal favorites, so they may or may not be the highest rated products reviewed during the year (though they will tend to be better rated, naturally!). (You can check out best of 2018 if you missed it.)

I thought it would be interesting to read through how readers used products throughout the year, what favorites emerged, what products fell by the wayside… so, if you want to join in, copy and paste the questions below and add your answers via a comment!

  • What blushes did you use the most this year?
  • Did you finish any blushes this year?
  • Do you expect to expand your blush collection in 2020?

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I love these questions Christine! I remember last year that there was a dearth of blushes in the under $15 category, so it’s good to realise that the situation has changed this year.

What blushes did you use the most this year?
I used the EA Sweet Peach blush and the Covergirl Clean Glow Blush, which is a trio of shades ranging from lighter to darker. Isabella Muse gave it the thumbs up in 2013….I bought it on a whim, as it was on sale at half price. It turns out that this is fabulous and lasts all day.

Did you finish any blushes this year?
No – I have hit pan on my beloved EA Sweet Peach, so that is my HE blush that I use occasionally now.

Do you expect to expand your blush collection in 2020?
No – I tend to only use one or two blushes at a time, so I’m good for blushes at the moment. The Covergirl blush had been sitting in my ‘spares’ bag for a little while before I started using it. Usually DS blushes are pretty average, so to find it work so well was quite a surprise.

Did you finish any blushes this year? Nope, not a chance!

What blushes did you use the most this year? I don’t know if I am strange but I only use one blush at a time, I would get too distracted if I had more than one open at a time. I am also a little embarrassed to say but my blush is an Avon dark rose powder that the label has long ago fell off of, it has lasted a loooog time, almost at the end now though.

Did you finish any blushes this year? Nope

Do you expect to expand your blush collection in 2020? I have a few in my cabinet so I won’t need to purchase for a while.

What blushes did you use the most this year? Burt’s Bees Shy Pink, Benefit Dallas, Natasha Denona Bloom palette, Nars Orgasm

Did you finish any blushes this year? Nope, but, I did declutter a few.

Do you expect to expand your blush collection in 2020? Not sure

What blushes did you use the most this year? TheBalm Balm Desert Bronzer/Blush, Physician’s Formula Butter Blush in Plum Rose, LORAC Color Source Buildable Blush in Ultra Violet, Urban Decay Afterglow in Bittersweet, Tarte Exposed, MAC Pink Cult, and My Pretty Zombie Drugs Like Me Blush in MDMA (Disclaimer: MPZ’s owner is a pharmacist, and named the blushes out of compounds used in her field, and she does not condone recreational drug use). The NARS Hot Tryst and Exposed Palettes also go heavy use this year.

Did you finish any blushes this year? Nope. I can’t remember the last time I finished a blush…

Do you expect to expand your blush collection in 2020? Yes, I still want to try the Cover FX duos.

What blushes did you use the most this year? My cream blushes, for sure. All of them.

Did you finish any blushes this year? I didn’t but my Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam is getting close!

Do you expect to expand your blush collection in 2020? Not really. I have a good selection that I love and flatters my skin tone. Though the Patrick Ta Blush in She’s Seductive has been tempting me. And it’s a color that I don’t have.
