Dior Rouge Dior Ultra Rouge Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a new formula that is supposed to have “high colour impact” with “12 hour” wear that is “hydrating” and has a “semi-matte finish.” There are 25 shades, and I have 22 of them, which are swatched in this post!

There are a lot of very pretty colors here, yet there is not a single one that I need. I have to drum this into my thick head. No more lipstick buying. As I type this, I’m waiting for a Sephora delivery that contains several lipsticks (Bite Virgo and PMG Executive Realness, plus the Bite birthday gift lipsticks), and I have to force myself to understand that these will be the last lipsticks I buy until the holidays. And maybe beyond. I have to use what I already own, which is a fabulous 3-digit collection of mid- to high-end lip products.

(But there sure are some beautiful shades here! Looking forward to reviews.)

Thank you so much for writing what I was thinking as I scrolled down through these beauties. Wait for dupes and apply the 2 dupe rule. At least I think I did no lipsticks in the S sale, though might pick up the navy Fenty instore. This whole collection looks wonderful. Always a challenge when they do well on your faves!

Get out of my head. 🙂 I had a similar conversation to myself. “You already have too many lipsticks. You have dupes of all of these shades.”

and…I’m wearing Bites Virgo right now as I type this. It’s nice by the way. On me, it’s a deep raspberry red.

I’m also no longer buying lipsticks. I only have a double digit collection but I hate throwing money away. I decided that I needed to use up my lipsticks before they go bad. It would kill me to have to throw an unfinished product away because it went bad. Im just too frugal and I really dont want that to ever happen. It may be a very long time till I use up everything I already have but so be it.

Nancy, go for it! I picked up Ultra Tough and LOVE it. The color’s amazing and so is the formula! My new favorite, wish there was more shades I like but I guess that’s okay as they’re a bit pricey.

Good lord. These colors are right up my alley and precisely the finish I prefer on me (except for the white one). I don’t know about the 12 hour wear, but I’m not sure I really care — I’m good with lipstick lasting 4 hours and I’m sold. I’ll be waiting for your review. These look so good on your lips Christine!

These actually look really good – very wearable for the most part and I like the finish – it’s well pigmented without looking like a thick layer on your lips. I’m not sure about the Light and Night shades but overall, I am quite impressed.

Christine, if you could take a look at Maybellines Taupe Seduction Shine 055 and compare that ( and the line ) to the Ultra Tough shade, I think we might be on to something. The Maybelline line is not in the Database. I should’ve known, it was new in Walmart. If you have a chance, pick up a few , especially Taupe Seduction. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised! ?

These look like a very nice formula, (apart then from the smell…;) I like most Dior lipsticks smell, but the once in the ultra Dior ranges have a little too much of grandma’s powder scent over them that also tends to linger and taste…). But the formula looks really good!!! I don’t se one lipswatch here that doesn’t look even and pigmented enough! That makes them interesting!
I wonder if they formula wise are anything like the Estée Lauder pure envy range? (One of my favourite high pigment but still looking good on lips over 20 years old…?)

Purchased Ultra Spice this past weekend and tried about five or so of them. Great feeling texture, transfers when you eat or drink though, but I don’t car, I really like the formula! If your NC37ish, try Ultra Spice for a very wearable orange red. 😉

Not sure I’d call these semi-matte, unless the dry down quite a bit. Tough, Pulse, and Night are my jam, but Night looks too emollient to stay in place well; on me those darker colors really need the “stickiness” of a true matte formula. Great undertones, though.
