30x Colorful Eyeshadow Color Combinations to Try

In the spirit of brightening my day–and hopefully yours–I’ve put together some brighter, more colorful color stories you might want to try–especially if you’re staying at or working from home and normally don’t have the time or can’t wear certain colors to the office or school! I’ve found that applying my makeup each day has become more of a mini-break and a way to focus on slowing down, calming down, and breathing through a moment.

I made sure to include some combos that are subtler step-up into color rather than full-blast o’ neons for those readers who may only want to dip a toe or two into it at first! 🙂

About This Series

Each look idea is centered around a “quad” of four shades with the expectation that one might bring in the appropriate brow bone or additional transitional shade based on skin tone. I know that I tend to use more like five or six shades in a typical look, but I think that four is a happy medium to give a good idea of the “core” color scheme of a look while giving you the ability to lighten/darken as desired. I have listed the colors in this order: inner lid, middle of lid, outer lid/crease, and crease/above crease.

You might see combinations that seem slightly repeated but placement will vary (e.g. a halo placement where the lightest and more shimmery shade is placed on the center) as placement can also create a different effect/look! You might also want to consider incorporating your favorite matte/shimmer shades (as applicable) to increase the versatility of certain palettes. Consider these ideas a jumping off point!

Now that I’ve unpacked most my stash I should really get to the business of playing around with more unique, different color combos and getting more creative since no one’s going to see it anyway! Other than unpacking everything, it has been boring as can be over here. But even if I was still over there, it’s not like I could go up to Scottsdale fashion square and just walk around, because it’s probably closed.

Christine, you are totally killing me with these Sydney Grace shadows. Bright eye looks aren’t my thing but the first one – Featherweight – is the sort of look I would wear. Once all this Covid 19 stuff is over (if it ever is), I may well break down and order some of these that I’ve wanted for a long time. Are there any Canadians here who’ve ordered from Sydney Grace? I wonder how badly you are stung with both customs duty and also the exchange rate (the CDN dollar is sinking alarmingly)

Not at all surprised that “Featherweight” caught your eye! 🙂

You can definitely look up the exchange rate on sites like xe.com (what I’ve used for years, no affiliation!) in general!

Here is a calculator to estimate duty and taxes: https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/dte-acl/est-cal-eng.html

Health & Wellness – > beauty products, and Sydney Grace is made in the US, so $50 CAN order -> $6 per the calculator for BC (just picked one).

Thanks for these! I really have to give Sydney Grace a try after seeing your combinations. Colourpop shades have really started to lean warm and not that many cool toned choices lately so I’ve been looking for other choices.
