Skin Tone/Coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, salt-and-pepper hair
Favorite Look Worn: From the ABH Modern Renaissance palette, I used Burnt Orange as transition, Vermeer on lid, and Tempera on brow bone. Then I added pops of purple with Urban Decay’s single shadow Flash on the outer lid and in the deep crease, and Marc Jacobs Highliner in Grapevine tightlined into the upper lash line. The rest of the look: Clinique Brow Shaper in Charcoaled and Diorshow Brow Styler in 004 on brows, Rimmel ScandalEyes RetroGlam Mascara, Estée Lauder Double Wear in Ecru, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder, MAC Mineralized Blush in Sweet Enough, Wet n Wild Megaglo Highlighter in Precious Petals, and NARS Audacious Lipstick in Barbara.
Most Used Product: Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder, Clinique Brow Shaper, and Diorshow Brow Styler (Best. Eyebrow. Pencil. Ever.)
New Beauty Discovery #1: I was reading/watching reviews of the ABH Norvina palette and remembered that I had bought a purple shadow a couple of years ago, but never used it. I searched a drawer and found the Urban Decay eyeshadow in Flash. I started experimenting with it and came up with the above Norvina-inspired look.
New Beauty Discovery #2: I saw a YouTube video about how to use MAC Mixing Medium Eyeliner to keep shimmer eyeshadow from transferring from the lids up into the crease on hooded eyes, so I decided to try it because this is a big problem for me. It works! What you do is put a thin layer of MAC Mixing Medium Eyeliner on the eyelid (all you need is a little drop, so this tube will last a long time) and then pat the shimmer eyeshadow on gently while it’s still tacky. Then very carefully pat a little more of the Mixing Medium on top of the shadow and keep eyes down or closed to let it dry for about 15-30 seconds.
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look I’ve worn: EYES — UD Primer Potion in Enigma. Violet Voss Hashtag Pro Palatte: TBT (crease), Petty AF (lid), and Relevant (patted onto center of lid). Huda Beauty Gemstones Obsessions #1 (brow bone; foiled on inner corner). ABH e/s single in Love Letter (brows). UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion (upper lash line). Physician’s Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara. LIPS — Fenty Beauty Iridescent Lip Luminizer in Vaycray. FACE — Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 100+, BH Cosmetics Flawless Finish Foundation in Ivory; RCMA No Color Powder; theBalm Balm Desert (cheeks, bridge of nose, hairline, tip of chin); e.l.f. Blush in Gotta Glow (highlighter); Sephora Tranquil (contour); e.l.f. Original Mist & Set.
Most used product of the week: It’s been cooler this week, so I’ve been changing things up before the 90°+ F weather returns and I’m back to minimal makeup. I think I wore TheBalm Balm Desert and Fenty Beauty Iridescent Lip Luminizer in Vaycray the most, plus my dailies.
Any new beauty discoveries: The Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen makes a pretty good face primer in high temps. My face isn’t as oily when it’s that hot, so I can skip the regular primer unless I want the perfecting quality.
My skin tone/coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones, MAC NC37, Lancome Teint Idole 24H Foundation N360, deep brunette, blue-green eyes w/ gold flecks.
Favorite look you worn: On Thursday I wore; on eyes, UD Acid Rain on the inner 1/3 of my lid, with almost everything else from the BTR palette. Big Sky on middle 1/3 of lid, Radio on outer 1/3, did crease work using a gradient of Riff with CP Go Wish to blend it upwards, UD Good As Gone to marry Radio and Riff together nicely. My usual black liner and mascara. On cheeks I used: Becca Malibu Soleil bronzer, CP Might Be and Essence Satin Love. Lips: Nyx Earth Tone Slim Lip Pencil, MAC Paramount lipstick (lightly) and Becca Beach Nectar lip gloss. My eyes literally GLOWED!
Most used product of the week: UD BTR and Beached palettes, MAC Delish and Paramount lipsticks, Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Cheek Palette, MAC Li Li’s Motor City Lipglass, Becca Beach Nectar gloss, and Fenty Universal Gloss Bomb.
Any new beauty discoveries: Nothing popping up in my head at the moment!
That sounds like a beautiful look Nancy and I liked the way you combined all those shades on your eyes, they complimented each other so well.
I really hope that UD send out the Beached palette to Aus, because I think it is one of the best ‘summery’ shaded palettes around, as I love those blues.
How are you coping with the temperatures Nancy? We have been reading here about the awful bushfires in California and the high temps in Europe and the way our winter rainfall has been so low, I think we’re going to be in for a really hot summer as well.
Wow! I’m really surprised to hear that UD hasn’t sent the Beached collection to AUS yet, Genevieve! Hopefully they do so very soon.
As for our summer here; I’d call it brutally hot, for one. We have a good chance of breaking the record for most days 110°+ in one year. The monsoon has been totally crazy, too. So many damaging storms! Homes being blown to smithereens by very powerful winds, transformers twisted like pretzels, flash flooding, etc.
My skin tone/coloring: light, soft olive undertones with redness
Favorite look you worn: It’s been a great week, no specific fave. MVP products have been Puff and Beam Cloud Paints, Benefit Hoola, MAC Brow Pen (AMAZING, BETTER THAN STILA AND DIP BROW), Coloured Raine Unbothered eyeshadow, Sugarpill Countess, Armani Fluid in No. 11, and Becca Pearl liquid and poured highlighters.
Most used product of the week: Eyes: Fenty Flyliner until it dried out at the tip and had to be returned. :'( Cheeks: trusty Becca Pearl highlighters, Beam Cloud Paint
Any new beauty discoveries: I know I’m so late to this party but clay masques! I hadn’t worn one in years because my primary skin concern is hydration, although I am definitely combination with a few clogged pores even on my cheeks. I picked up Shea Moisture’s clay masque for a sleepover themed party one of my coworkers threw a couple weeks back. We didn’t end up breaking in to it (somebody else had the same idea and they opened hers first) so I used it yesterday and followed it with my Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Hydrating Mask to make sure I didn’t dry out. YOU GUYS. The texture of my skin is so calm and smooth. My highlighter and blush have never sat better on the skin and I’m glowing like an ANGEL.
My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favourite look you worn: I have made a conscious effort to use all my ‘colourful’ eye palettes this week. I don’t have a particular favourite, but I did really like it when I used the Tarina Tarantino’s little quint Wonderful – with the gold/copper shade on the whole mobile lid; the darker green carefully blended on the lower lid and a hint of the chocolate brown in the crease. A very light touch is needed with TT’s eyeshadows as they are so dense. For a lipstick – Clarins Joli Rouge in Spicy Cinnamon.
Most used product of the week: All my staples
Any new beauty discoveries: That L’Oreal’s newish True Match range does now cater for pink undertones.
Skintone / coloring : light, MAC NC 15 – 20, med brown hair and eyes
Favorite look worn : ABH Modern Renaissance. Tempera to set primer. Warm Taupe to transition. Real Gar in crease. Primavera on eyelid. Rimmel Soft Kohl Pencil in Brown on upper lashline. MUFE Excessive Lash Mascara. ABH Brow Wiz in Soft Brown. Loreal Glam Bronzer. NARS Madly Blush. Becca Moonstone Highlighter. Fenty Gloss Bomb
Favorite product used: ABH Modern Renaissance. Still discovering how versatile it is after two years!
New beauty discoveries : Bronzing up your clavicle and shoulders can really add to your look!
My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look you wore: looking at others’ replies, I realize I actually wear very little makeup and most of that is eyes. This past week, no foundation; just moisturizer and sunscreen on my face with Bobbi Brown Maui “bronzer” as blush; the top 2 shades in Empreinte du desert on my eyes, along with Sephora Cappuccino liner and Marc Jacobs skinny Blacquer on my upper waterlines; Clarins Hot Fuchsia lipstick
Most used product of the week: that Bobbi Brown “bronzer” in Maui (which I notice is no longer being carried at Sephora but the pan is large so I’m good for at least 5 years) and Lise Watier Sun Smart (what a great product)
Any new beauty discoveries: Astral Cream (not a colour cosmetic product but a face cream and it is really nice)
My skin tone/coloring: fair/cool skin (foundation matches: L’Oreal True Match C3 Creamy Natural, Urban Decay All Nighter 2.5, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear 2.0 Mont Blanc, Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist EF Light 2), gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde and blue strands.
Favorite look you worn: Either Friday-LA Colors (a US drugstore brand, for those whose countries don’t carry it) FYX: Bronze #5 (shimmery medium red) shadow on lid, Sephora Vampire Lovers shadow in crease, LA Colors FYX: Bronze #3 (shimmery gold) shadow on browbone, Christian Louboutin Rouge Louboutin Lash Amplifying Lacquer, NARS Satellite of Love highlighting blush, L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive 401 Julianne’s Red lipstick or yesterday-UD Fringe from Electric palette on lid, LA Colors FYX: Bronze #2 (shimmery bronzy charcoal) in crease, Sephora V for V.O.L.U.M.E Turquoise League mascara, Tarte Unstoppable blush, Kat Von D Crush Studded Kiss Creme lipstick.
Most used product of the week: My base products-L’Oreal Creamy Natural True Match Lumi Cushion foundation, UD 2.5 All Nighter foundation, Maybelline 10 Ivory SuperStay Better Skin concealer, CoverGirl 120 Creamy Natural Clean Normal Skin pressed powder.
Any new beauty discoveries: Having some makeup on makes even the notoriously terrible DMV photo come out slightly better!
