The Modern Renaissance palette is one of my most used this month, and Buon Fresco with Cypress Umber has been a ho-to look.
Oh, and my new discovery is The Ordinary Serum Foundation. So far, so good!
Skin tone: Deep Dark
Favorite look this week: Cool Grey/purple look with a little bit of silver shimmer.
Most used: Smashbox cover shot in Sultry
Beauty discoveries: Ordered the UD heavy metal palette after seeing a couple of reviews. Also discovered the bad habit dupe of the discontinued ABH/Mario master palette, but I’m trying to figure out how I feel about the ethics of purchasing dupes like this one. ?
My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look you wore: (I wish someone would fix that typo!!!) Exams started so I’ve had a few more minutes in the morning but I’ve also got a bit of a head cold so wanted something simple as my eyes are tearing and my nose red. For the first time in ages, I took out MAC Illusionary/Burning Ambition MES and used the light gold all over my lid and the rich brown on the outer third and outer crease, winged up a bit to “lift” my eyes. Marc Jacobs Brownout to line, Dior Rosy Glow blush, IT CC Cream (to sort of tone down where my face looked red) and MAC Capricious lipstick. I skipped mascara because of the tearing eyes!
Most used product of the week: does Kleenex count? It’s probably been MAC Capricious lipstick (it was at the bottom of the lippie pile for a long time, and now has made its way to the top)
Any new beauty discoveries: nope – just the “rediscoveries of Capricious and Illusionary/Burning Ambition (sometimes, rediscovering old favourites is actually better than new stuff! Brings back all the old excitement and curiosity).
Rediscoveries always make me feel good too!
My skin tone: light neutral leaning cool
Favorite look you worn: Huda Beauty Mauves palette
Most used product of the week: ditto on Huda mauves… I didn’t wear makep much this week and grabbed this palette the 2 days I did.
Any new beauty discoveries: Laura Gellar Baked Balance and Brighten. I lightly buff a touch of this powder over foundation to create flawless finish . A couple of youtubers turned me on to this product. I mix shades porcelain and fair. Be careful with shades which I think run dark. I use sparingly on cheeks chin nose.. touch on forehead.
I have the Laura Gellar Balance and Brighten in Porcelain and had forgotten about it so thank you for reminding me, Wendy. I really like it on my skin and adds a bit of coverage over my hyperpigmentation.
I have used BnB for years however have benn disappointed with my current pan as it started hitting hard pan and for a while now I have had to scrape the surface to use it. A pot lasts a long time though.
My skin tone/coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones MAC NC37 Lancôme Teint Idole 360, Fenty ProFilt’r 260 or 290, deep plummy-brunette, blue-green eyes w/ gold flecks.
Favorite look you worn: An all purple look this past Tuesday! Eyes: MAC Orb browbone, KVD Meow transition, CP Daddy crease, outer V and smoked out on lower lashline, Frog inner corner, Sunbeam on mobile lid, Essence Midnight In Paris for wings, Nyx Obsidian and Sephora Purple Stilettos eye pencils. Cheeks: UD Bittersweet blush and CP Teasecake Highlighter. Lips: UD Cruz Vice Lipstick and liner.
Most used product of the week: See above! ⬆I only wore makeup twice this week.
Any new beauty discoveries: That try as I might, ColourPop keeps reeling me in with their $5 off codes if you leave stuff in your cart for a day or two. They sent me another one last night, so hello Getty!
That purple look sounds gorgeous!
Thank you, Rachel! It really was! I’ll put a pic on either IG or FB for you.
Skintone / coloring : light, MAC NC 20, med brown hair and eyes
Favorite look worn : KVD Saint and Sinner Palette. Martyr and Devil in crease/transition. Stigmata in outer corner/outer eyelid. Heaven on inner corner /inner half of eyelid. Maybelline Master Precise Skinny eyeliner in Refined Charcoal to tightline. MAC Haute & Naughty Mascara. Lancome Blush Subtil in Miel Glace. A LE Revlon Highlighting blush. I cannot remember its name. Limecrime Velvetine Liquid Lip in Bleached.
Most Used Product : Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Translucent Pressed Powder. Clinique Even Better Foundation in Linen. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Neutralizer Concealer. Maybelline Master Precise Skinny Gel Eyeliner in Refined Charcoal. Lancome Blush Subtil in Miel Glace
New Discoveries : None
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look you worn: EYES — UD Primer Potion in Enigma. Living Dead Beauty Bold Eyes Palette: matte yellow-green in crease and swept around onto the lower lashline; matte teal on outer corners of top and bottom lid; matte white on brow bone. UD Heavy Metals Palette: Mullet on the lid, with Ground layered over it on the outer third of the lid. UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion on top and bottom waterlines. Physician’s Formula Sexy Booster Va Va Voom Mascara. BROWS — ABH e/s in Love Letter. LIPS — ABH Matte Lipstick in Dead Roses. FACE — E.l.f. Mineral Infused Face Primer, Lancome Teint Idole Long-Wearing Foundation in 140N (Ivoire) mixed with a little Manic Panic White and Algenist Reveal in Green. E.l.f. HD Powder in Sheer; Sephora Tranquil (contour); MAC Blush in Pink Cult. E.l.f. Mist & Set.
Most used product of the week: Other than my usuals, Lancome Teint Idole 24H Long Wearing Foundation and Algenist Reveal Concentrated Color Correcting Drops in Green. I’m having an awful cystic acne breakout on the left side of my face. It’s so red, even the Teint Idole isn’t covering it by itself.
Any new beauty discoveries: I’m loving the Living Dead Beauty Bold Eyes Palette. It’s all mattes, but they are really smooth and pigmented. ABH Matte Lipstick in Dead Roses is perfection. I should have gotten it sooner.
Skin tone: Very pale with cool undertones.
Favorite look: Smashbox Photo Edit Trio in Nudie Fair. I used the cream color all over lid as a base then used the light cool toned brown/grey as transition and the darker brown to deepen above my natural crease. I then added Stila Glimmer and Glow in Pigale to my mobile lid and just barely above the crease. I used Becca Prosecco Pop as inner corner highlight and in center of mobile lid. I re-applied the cream color from the Smashbox palette to give a matte highlight under the brows. I used the new Jouer blush duo in Adore as my blush and wore Stila Sheer Lip in Splendour with a gloss on top. I like how the look turned out.
Most used product of the week: Face care would be J One Jelly Pack as a primer and color product would be MAC lip pencil in Nightmoth and By Terry Perfume of His Gaze sheer lipstick. This is a frequent duo and I hadn’t worn it in awhile so busted it out this week. I think the L”Oreal Colour Riche Shine in Blackberry is very similar to the By Terry but I just love the name of the By Terry. I am a true romantic at heart and a lipstick called “The Perfume of His Gaze” is perfection for me!!
Beauty discoveries: The Milani e/s primer. I think I saw Nancy T. mention it and since I have textured, crepey skin on my eyelids I decided to give it a try and I am really liking it so thank you, Nancy.
I’m just glad I could help, Deborah! And only because someone else had told me about the Milani Eyeshadow Primer!
My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favourite look you worn: A couple: Naked 2 – used Busted and YDK with my Clarins Joli Rouge Spicy Cinnamon lipsticks and Lorac Pro Metal – with Graphite, Clover and Rose Gold with my Elizabeth Arden lipstick in Ginger.
Most used product of the week: Apart from Sunscreen (La Roche Posay Ultra Light 50+ on face and Nivea on arms/neck), I am rediscovering how versatile Naked 2 is.
Any new beauty discoveries: the Nivea 50+ SPF moisturising sunscreen for body is pretty good.
Colouring : medium. I wear Neutral N2 in Kat Von D Lock it Foundation
Fave look : I finished the Smashbox Full Exposure eyeshadow that I was panning and have pulled out the MAC quad I’m That Chick You Like and have been alternating between Whenever You Call and the second shade (can’t remember the name) all over the lid with Golden Lights on my mobile lid and How You Thrill me on my outer V. Have liked this with Benefit Galifornia and Chanel 166 lipgloss. I finished this lipgloss this week too though.
Most used product: the Chanel lipgloss
Discovery: had a sample of Bare Minerals Skinlongevity power Serum and it was gorgeous. Have a Caudalie Serum to use first and then will purchase the BM Serum.
My skin tone/coloring: Fair neutral (Estee Lauder DW 1N1; Lancôme Teint Idole N100
Favorite look you worn: I have really been enjoying the Anastasia Prism palette. I use Unity and Eden as transition shades, parallel in the crease and outer V, and dimension all over the lid. I love the Dimension color so much, it truly has dimension.
Most used product of the week: Jouer Essential High Coverage creme foundation in Porcelain. Dead on shade match and a little goes SUCH a long way. Was asked at work what I was doing different with my makeup, it looked so smooth and flawless!
Any new beauty discoveries: see above ⬆️
