Luminous Light

Milani Luminous Light Hypnotic Lights Powder Highlighter ($12.99 for 0.30 oz.) is a light pink with pink-to-lavender shifting, ultra-fine pearl paired with a satin finish. I found it looked cooler-toned and more lavender applied and blended out on my cheekbones than it appeared in the pan. It had good pigmentation, which was buildable to full coverage with half of layer more, but it was also easy to sheer out if preferred. The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable without being too firmly or too losely pressed in the pan. The powder applied easily and sat well on my skin. It wore for eight hours before I noticed signs of fading.

Formula Overview

$12.99/0.3 oz. - $43.30 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be "silky-smooth" and have a "subtle, iridescent glow." Subtle is right on the money; they have an ethereal glow that's there but not blaring, and there's really a sea of intense, metallic highlighters on the market, so seeing something on the subtle end of the spectrum was refreshing. The powders had a soft, smooth, slightly dense consistency, but they did not feel stiff nor were they difficult to pickup with a brush. They blended out easily on the skin, sat well, and yielded a lit-from-within kind of glow. On me, they lasted for eight hours.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Why do I get the feeling that this would look very flat and powdered pink sugar against my skintone? Although, I could certainly see it making for an excellent subtle highlight for either cooler toned folks or those around an NC25 and lighter. Making it quite useful for workplace and other conservative settings!

Pretty color. I haven’t seen this one in stores yet. Isn’t $12.99 high for a Milani cheek product? Drugstore makeup seem to be slowly creeping up in price unfortunately.

I just want to thank you for what seems to be more reviews of drugstore brands. Your reviews really represent my shopping habits…my purchases are made from high, midrange, and drugstore brands. I appreciate that you represent all levels in your reviews. You’re my “go-to” website when I’m contemplating a purchase. Thanks for all your hard work!

If it’s the same consistency as of the other three highliters they released with those teeny roses on I would love it. Really liked those highliters myself they are very fine not to the moon glow. Very pretty. This color suits me! Keeping an eye out for it! Thanks!
