Spritz Edit

Viseart Spritz Edit Eyeshadow Palette ($39.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a new, warm-toned palette that featured 12 shades with a mix of matte and shimmer finishes. I think the shimmers were a bit creamier in this palette compared to past, more recent releases, so they are easier to work with, have more pigmentation, and some looked almost “melted” on the lid because they were so smooth.

The mattes were fairly pigmented and blendable, though I had some issues with Ciambella and Tarocco, which were quite powdery, and Figura, which was harder to blend out and lifted up other shades.

Ciambella

Ciambella is a light-medium peach with strong, warm yellow undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-sheer color coverage that was buildable to medium to semi-opaque coverage, but it had some powderiness present that resulted in fallout. The consistency seemed more loosely-pressed than other shades in the palette, so I’d recommend using a very light hand with it to avoid a mess. It stayed on decently for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

-

The eyeshadow formula is supposed to be "pigment[ed]" with "smooth and even application" that is "long-lasting." The matte shades are typically semi-opaque to opaque but buildable with soft, velvety textures that can sometimes be a little powdery or slightly firm, depending on the shade. I find that the mattes are often best suited to someone who likes control over pigmentation and may prefer to build up color; they regularly perform better in practice than just swatched on the arm as well.

The shimmer shades range from satin to metallic, and the more metallic shades tend to feel creamier to the touch, while the satin ones have a fine pearl to them that looks almost melted on the lid once blended out. Both the mattes and shimmers are blendable and easy to work with. Most of Viseart's eyeshadows wear between seven and nine hours on me.

Prosecco

Prosecco is a very light orange with strong, warm undertones and a gold-green shift paired with a metallic sheen. It had opaque color payoff in a single layer, which adhered evenly to bare skin. The texture felt a little bit thinner and had some dustiness present in the pan, but it applied evenly and wasn’t prone to sheering out or having fallout. It didn’t last quite as well as other shimmers in the palette at eight hours of wear, so it might be a shade better-applied wet or over a primer.

Tarocco

Tarocco is a deep peach with moderate, warm orange undertones and a matte finish. The texture was somewhat powdery, so I had to be careful to use a light hand to avoid some fallout. It didn’t sheer out as much as I expected based on the powdery texture, but it did sheer out some, so it had to be built back up to get to full coverage. There were signs of fading after eight and a half hours of wear.

Brioche (Spritz)

Brioche (Spritz) is a light-medium brown with strong, warm orange undertones and a matte finish. It had a soft, smooth, and blendable texture that wasn’t too powdery nor too firmly pressed into the pan. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and wasn’t prone to fallout or sheering out too readily. It stayed on nicely for nine hours on me before fading visibly.

Limoncello

Limoncello is a rich, deeper gold with strong, warm undertones and a metallic finish. The eyeshadow had opaque color coverage in a single pass, which adhered well to bare skin and diffused well along the edges. The texture was dense, lightly creamy but not too firmly pressed into the pan, so it was still readily picked up with a brush. The color showed signs of fading after nine hours of wear.

Balmy is a light bronze with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had excellent pigmentation with a smooth, creamy consistency that was dense without being too firmly-pressed into the pan. The eyeshadow was really a testament to how well Viseart these types of shimmers that almost “melt” on the lid. It lasted nicely for nine hours before showing signs of fading on me.

Figura

Figura is a deep red with subtle, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had barely-there shimmer that wasn’t noticeable when applied, and while sometimes I find this subtle addition of shimmer helps with blending, it wasn’t the most user-friendly shade. I had an issue where the dryness of the texture resulted in the product pushing and lifting up nearby shades. It had opaque color payoff that wore well for nine hours and left a faint stain behind.

This is a really good palette, the shades beautifully pigmented. My favourite shades were Limoncello, Scala and Balmy – all of which there are plenty of dupes.
Personally I would have preferred there to be shades of green/olive instead of the pinks and red, but nonetheless it is a good quality palette from Viseart.

DVa Avatar

So pretty, but I can see dupes for all of these, especially for the colours I like the most, which are pretty much in my TF Just Peachy palette.

I took a good look at my stash the other day and I have to say, unless something really, wow-wow-wow comes out, I’ve got enough palettes for the foreseeable future.
Wish me luck on that!
