Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette (Re-Release) Quick Review & Comparison
Sweet Peach
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette ($49.00 for 0. oz.) is a re-release, but this time it is noted as permanent by Too Faced!
I reviewed it when it was originally released in March of this year. My review is largely unchanged; I do not feel that Too Faced took notes or went back and reformulated anything within the palette. There are minor variations between a few shades, but they are within what I’d consider normal discrepancies found between batch to batch. The most noticeable differences were the texture of White Peach, was significantly silkier and more pigmented as a result, and Just Peachy and Bellini had stronger, pink bases (particularly with Just Peachy) – but this can often be the result of how the shimmer (which are warmer in both instances) gets mixed in or caught by the light. Talk Derby to Me was more pigmented and softer in the re-released palette, but on the flip side, Cobbler was much drier and sheerer in the re-release.
My general review stands the same, though, which is that Too Faced’s formula begs for an eyeshadow primer. It is typically thinner and dustier such that the eyeshadows will sheer out or apply unevenly (or turn patchy when blended) without primer underneath. There are many formulas that at least apply well (even if they don’t last all day) without primer, but Too Faced’s eyeshadow formula is particularly difficult to use well without primer across the board–application, pigmentation, blendability, and longevity. The palette does have a strong, sweet peach scent, though I can’t smell it once applied to the lid.
In terms of the overall rating, the only change was in the Pigmentation rating, which is now 9, and in the original, it was 8.5.

White Peach
White Peach is a light beige with warmer, yellow undertones and a satin finish. The pigmentation was opaque, while the texture was really silky and smooth with a greater density and less tendency to sheer out compared to the original palette. It lasted for seven and a half hours.

Just Peachy
Just Peachy is a brighter, medium pink with fine, golden shimmer that gave it a pearly finish overall. The texture was dustier, thinner, so it was prone to sheering out and took a lot of packing on the lid to apply decently. It started to fade after six hours on me.

Bless Her Heart
Bless Her Heart is a muted, medium-dark olive green with warm, brown undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff with a slightly drier feel that did not apply as well as I thought it would. This shade started to fade after seven hours on me. It seemed greener initially, but it had a tendency to fade/mute within a few minutes and ended up looking the same after that compared to the original release.

Delectable is a medium-dark plum with warm undertones and flecks of micro-sparkle over a matte finish. It looked and performed more like a matte, as the sparkles did not translate on the lid. Puree
Puree is a medium-dark brown with warm, caramel undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was good, while the texture was soft, finely-milled, and blendable on the skin, though it sheered out a bit. It was more opaque in this palette than my original palette. This shade lasted for seven and a half hours on me.

Summer Yum
Summer Yum is a dark, reddish brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a drier, dustier texture that was difficult to blend, as it turned patchy on me. This shade seemed worse than the original release, which was fairly blendable without primer before, and it was more red-based with less orange. It lasted for seven and a half hours on me.

Talk Derby to Me
Talk Derby to Me is a deep, blackened purple with cool undertones and multi-colored sparkle over a pearly finish. The pigmentation was fantastic–a huge improvement from my original palette–and was a lot more blendable overall with less powderiness overall. It lasted for seven hours on me.

I don’t wanna sound nitpicky but I remember you doing the initial release review in March. I only know this so well because it was posted on my birthday! (March 27).
Sorry, I’m just incompetent and read the post date as May instead of March – obviously I’m the moron here. I’m sorry again, Jennifer, being inaccurate and causing confusion.
Girl, you’re my favorite blogger. I’m sure most everyone can excuse a tiny mistake like that. Especially this time of year! ?
I apologize again for not being able to even do the simplest task – read a date – properly! There are NO excuses for something that important to be missed.
Just an mistaken date. Stop being so hard on yourself Christine!
Girl, don’t be so hard on yourself! 🙂
This is so helpful. I was debating whether this “new” version of the eye shadow palette warranted a re-purchase since I had already bought the Sweet Peach palette the first time around, when it originally released. Good to know it is not necessary (well, none of this is necessary but I think you know what I mean). Thanks!
I think they’re really the same – I definitely don’t think Too Faced went back to make it better, at least. As it is permanent, they might be making it out of a different factory or using different equipment etc. which can affect the press or how things mix. Even something like having more/less shimmer can just be the result of how something gets mixed and then poured into the pans!
For once I’m a little tiny bit glad that I am allergic to sodium saccharin and that I’ve got good, solid dupes for quite a few shades here, otherwise I would be so tempted to buy this. These ARE my kind of eyeshadow shades. But the quality is all over the place on these. Some are excellent, ie; Talk Derby To Me. Others look just awful.
Glad you have plenty of dupes, Nancy! 🙂
I was really hoping that they had reformulated the troublesome shades. Bummer.
I hear ya!
It was an easy pass for me the first time around. However, after seeing people excitedly grabbing them off the shelves at Ulta this weekend, I ended up snagging one. I’m still on the fence about it. It’s not as great as the hype that surrounds it but it’s decent. I’ll probably keep it.
I’m glad you like it enough to keep it!
I have the Chocolate palette, would you say this is lower quality??
I don’t remember the score offhand, but I believe this rated lower.
The chocolate palette is definitely a bit better in my opinion. I still bought this one though. I would have passed on it if I were not so short on pinks and peaches. lol. Still not sure if it’s worth it. I never had any complaints about the chocolate though.
There are several shades here I like, but the scent makes it a no go for me. Unhelpful too is the memory of the LE and promotion frenzy of earlier this year (but, I do like enough of the colors that if it performed and wasn’t scented, I might have given it a try)
The scent seems so unnecessary to me!
I am so excited to see this re-release! I think I’m really liking the colour selection in this palette isn’t even if I didn’t like it the first time around! I am really debating between this and the face palette – arrgghhh! The decisions!
Good luck deciding!
Gosh, I want to like this so much, but Too Faced is killing me here.
I’ll probably get this and see if I can make it work for me (and return if I can’t). I somehow managed to make the holiday Chocolate Shop palette work for me with some good glitter primer, but I really would appreciate not having to jump through hoops when I see so much potential in a palette.
Fingers crossed this works for you, Jenna!
Well, if it doesn’t, at least I can console myself with the UD Afterdark palette.
Glad this is permanent, will give me a chance to swatch in store and think about it. Not too crazy about the fragrance, but like some of the colors, might consider if there’s a good discount on it.
Keep me posted if you try it, Katherine!!
My impressions of the palette are that the shades are really, really dupable and the ones that I like I have lots of.
It is of inconsistent quality and I am not sure that all the shades would be used.
Easy skip for ya!
I also kind of wanted this palette and now have an excuse that it’s permanent to get it but I’m annoyed that the actually pink/peach shades were not reformulated to be alt least a C and the rest of the shades are dupable… 🙁
Interesting that this re-release is slightly better than the original! It is an attractive palette but I wasn’t tempted first time round and I’m still not this time. The 2 A’s are in direct competition with the 2 F’s!
Just barely! I think it worked out to be about 1% higher, lol!
I saw this palette in store today at Sephora. It looked pretty, but I felt as though, apart from maybe 3-4 shades, this palette seemed very similar to the original chocolate bar palette (colour wise I mean.) Did anyone else feel this way too?
i love the color selection of this palette but i am not a big fan of too faced eyeshadows. the shade ‘bless her heart ‘is so beautiful though 🙂
I don’t get it, I just don’t. This to me, is easily the worst quality of the 4 full size smelly palettes. I don’t even understand the smell part! Chocolate is an antioxidant so ok, they were stretching it once they used cocoa in eyeshadow palettes instead of just bronzers but it was in bounds. Peach though…wha’? That’s never resonated with me…I just don’t get it…why? Why Christine? WHHHHYYYY? lol sorry I’m shopped silly! I also don’t understand the color selection. It’s reads dark and heavy at first glance, not light and airy like you’d expect a peach palette to appear. Im not advocating for an all light colored palette but you can achieve a more buoyant peachy impression without sacrificing gradients of shades. Now that the buyout is public they could have lost the “this formula is so different and special we’re having a hard time making more” excuse and just reformulated the palette. They know it’s a stinker (and HA I wasn’t even thinking about the scent)! They can’t not know and if they cared at all they had so long to tinker with it, I mean really! Where’s the professional pride? Holy glitter Batman! I think Too Faced might be the brand that pushes me over the burnout edge. Oh! And that $30 Papa don’t peach blush? Just pile insult on injury why dontcha? That blush has been around before, for sure in the 2014 Everything Nice holiday palette that was so dang good! I’m still using that blush because I’m still using the palette. It was and still is really good! When you look back at what the brand is capable of vs what they just launched….wow. Just wow. And not in the good way.
I like these colors a lot.
Sorry for the unrelated comment but I have a question about the Foundation Matrix. I am trying to find my shade, which is 01N in Lingerie de Peau Natural Perfection, but it doesn’t seem to be listed. Is it because it’s perhaps not sold in the US? I checked the Sephora website and it’s not on there. I’m from Europe. Can anyone help?
I’m wanting to try Tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea foundation and tried to find my match because I can only buy it online. 01N in Lingerie de Peau is an exact match for me.
Hi ADR,
To report a missing shade, please use the report function on the Matrix – this will send it with the right info/subject line so that we can add any missing shades! 🙂 This makes sure that it follows our process, gets in the queue, and don’t forget. Unfortunately, my memory is pretty terrible and I can’t recall offhand what is or isn’t in there for that formula at the moment.
Thanks for the reply, Christine! Will do that right now 🙂
Since it’s such a quality disappointment I will consider getting the Makeup Revolution dupe instead (Chocolate and Peaches) just to play around with the color scheme. Not sure yet.
It seems like the peachy shades are the worst offenders. With so many youtubers getting free Too Faced swag and trips, I didn’t hear anything about the peach shades being duds. Good thing I always wait for your review. I was hoping the formula would have been better.
I skipped this the first time around after seeing the ho-hum review, but I snagged it after seeing a lot of really awesome looks being done. I absolutely love this palette, the variety of colors are nice and all the shades are right up my alley. I always use a primer, so for me the performance of this has been awesome, but it would be nice if they performed just as well without. I do notice that if I don’t prime my lower lashline the shades down there do disappear pretty quickly. The look you did with this is gorgeous Christine! You always do such fun eye looks <3
I’m curious which palettes or shadow formula would you say works perfectly fine without a primer?
Hi Kira,
I don’t use primer to test, and there are many eyeshadows that get high marks – dusty, powdery, thin formulas like Too Faced’s are poor for applying without a primer. There are so many formulas that last eight hours or longer on me without primer – of course, it always depends on the specific shade, but generally: Chanel, MAC, Tom Ford, Make Up For Ever, Sugarpill, bareMinerals, Kat Von D, ColourPop, Viseart, Giorgio Armani, Ardency Inn, Urban Decay, Coloured Raine, Sleek, Anastasia, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Charlotte Tilbury, Sephora, theBalm, Buxom… it’s more like only a few are habitually problematic without primer – LORAC (mattes/satins), Too Faced, Tarte.
The colours looks nice together…but not worth the buy. I’m so grateful for your reviews.
You’re welcome, Patrick! xo
I am looking for a new palette to buy from Ulta. I really like the idea of a warm toned palette, but between your review of this Sweet Peach palette and some I’ve seen on YouTube I am wondering if it is not worth it… do you have other suggestions? tarte pro seems nice or Naked 3…
After reading your review and the swatches, this is a pass for me. Their chocolate palettes look much attractive to me than this peach one. Haha 😀
Omgosh I wish I had seen this review earlier. I thought I was going nutts. I put on the shadows without primer and it was awful. I was like where in the heck is the color. It was horrible and chalk like.I haven’t riend them on with primer. I hope I get a different result.
I hope yours performs better with primer!
