What three high-end products would you miss the most if they were discontinued?

Tom Ford Love Lust Blush, Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation, and just my Japanese brushes in general!

1.) Ole Henriksen Truth line of skincare
2.) Origins GinZing eye cream (magic!) tied with Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid & Retinol Eye Serum
3.) FAB Pure Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer
Yes, I know. I didn’t include any color products because there is nearly always at least one dupe, but these skincare products I found through a TON of trial and error. They work without giving me breakouts or allergic reactions.

1. Lorac Porefessional Baked Perfecting Powder
2. MAC Paintpot in Groundwork
3. NARS Sheer & Satin lipsticks, in general. After the Audacious launch, I’ve been worried that the old line would inevitably get discontinued. So far, so good.

Tarte Natural Beauty blush, Guerlain Lingerie de Peau foundation, Cargo concealer. And can say that “three” makes this just too hard…could we have “five” please? That would be hard too but a little less pain-inducingly hard! Thank heavens we live in a world where, as often as products are discontinued, we don’t have to face this “difficulty” too often.

Erica Avatar

NARS Orgasm blush

Stila Kitten eyeshadow

MAC lipsticks

All for sentimental value bc they are the first “HE” makeup I purchased. Runner up would be Clinique Cheek Pop blushes. Love their formula the best!

A month or two from now my answers might be different, since I’m looking for lower cost options on two of my three…
La Prairie Cellular Eye Contour Cream
SK-II Cellumination Mask-in Lotion
Marc Jacobs highliner in Jazzberry

Tarte Amazonian clay foundation (I tried it thanks to Nancy T always talking about it on here!!) Because it’s a perfect match for my very yellow, and lighter winter skin!

Too face shadow insurance (it’s the only primer that works for my super oily hooded/partially monolid eyes!)

And it’s a tie between Kat von d lock it concealer creme, and makeup forever mattifying primer!!!

KK Avatar

MUFE Ultra HD Foundation – It’s the only foundation I use.
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner – Rockstar and Invasion are my favorites, but there are so many colors to choose from.
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil – I love the formula, the shade selection, pretty much everything about these.

Astrild Avatar

MAC paintpot in Painterly. I love Groundwork too but I use Painterly every day.
NARS Radiant Tinted Moisturizer
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

There are some shades of MAC lipsticks that are HG for me, but there are always dupes for every shade in the world.

CatG Avatar

(not sure if these are all high-end)

Guerlain Les Voilettes powder

Meow Cosmetics Mineral Foundation (it is $30 for a full size now, so that seems high-end price to me?)

Sunday Riley Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer

1. I continue to mourn YSL’s Le Teint Touche Eclat Illuminating Foundation. The foundation was my holy grail, and BR20 was a perfect match. I was heartbroken to order a bottle and discover that not only had the formulation changed, but so were the shades. I decided to give it a chance on my NW 20/25 dry, mature skin. The new formulation continues to offer its gorgeous YSL finish, but the coverage was thicker, and did not apply as smoothly. The new formulation settled into the fine lines, and oxidation was visible at the 5-to-6-hour mark. I hoped that the YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation might be close, but I was wrong. It has a completely different slip, it never fully sets, and the finish is not as illuminating as I had hoped. I found a bottle of the older formula on Ebay and spent a fortune for it.

2. Chanel Les Beiges powder. I love this glow!

3. Rouge Bunny Rouge Sea of Tranquility — best highlighter ever.

Another toughie! My number one choice was recently discontinued: The UD Electric Palette. (Yes, I bought a backup while I could). So I’ll try to pick three current ones, but it’s really hard.

1) Too Faced Shadow Insurance. It’s my HG eye primer for my super-oily lids.
2) Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion. It’s my HG black pencil liner because it’s so dark and rich. It smudges beautifully but is iron-clad once it sets. It stays on my waterlines. It doesn’t irritate my upper waterline like most liners do. I’d truly be heart-broken if it went away.
3) Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. Oddly enough for this brights-lover, this is one of my most-used, if not THE most used, palettes. I use it on my face as well as my eyes, especially when I travel. It’s incredibly versatile for such a small palette, and the shadows are so easy to work with. For me to so highly endorse a small, neutral, mostly-matte palette, you know it’s got to be great.

I agree with you Rachel on the UD Naked Basics being so very versatile and easy to work with. Besides eyes & eyebrows I can do contouring & highlighting with it too. Fair/cool/pink NW15ish. Oh yes, the small size is just perfect, and can use with any other colors. Love, love, love.

That’s a rough choice: Chanel Le Volume, Guerlain Meteorites, and just about all my favorite lip formulations from my favorite brands. I’d be highly pissed off the most if NARS got rid of it’s lip pencils or Bite got rid of theirs. Really, I love them both equally and I don’t even really like matte lips at all but they both have just enough dimension and wear so well for so long without bleeding or drying me out, I’d cry like a baby if either was DC.

This is also difficult to pick only three.

1. Kevin Aucoin Sculpting Powder Medium
2. MAC Waterweight Foundation
3. it Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye concealer

Ros Fraser Avatar

1. RMS Beauty Living Lumizer – the perfect subtle highlighter for dry ageing skin.
2. Clarins Extra Firming Foundation – One of the few SPF foundations for extremely dry skin.
3. Clarins Instant Conceal – Wonderful concealer for extremely dry skin that doesn’t settle into wrinkles.

Meredith Avatar

La Mer cleansing lotion, La Mer regular cream and soft cream, and Chanel Lift eye cream. Other greats are Sisley eye makeup remover lotion in the pale green bottle and MD Solar Science sun screens. I have delicate skin and these products are soooo good.

Maggie Avatar

Givenchy Le Rouge in Brun Createur, IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Waterproof concealer, MAC prep +prime 24 hour extend eye base (this eye primer is a must-try for anyone else also allergic to most eye primers)

ShariP Avatar

Urban Decay eyeshadows, MAC Studio Fix foundation…okay, that was easy. Now I’m torn. Clinique cheek pop blush, but I do have other favorites, so maybe not…Urban Decay Perversion mascara, but I do like Smashbox Extreme equally well. Urban Decay eyeliners, but L’Oréal Silkissime are almost dupes that I could live with. I think it would have to be Lancome’s Absolu Rouge lipstick in Amande Sucree…you can alter the outcome with different lip liner so it actually seems like you have several different lipsticks. Now hit enter before I change my mind, lol.

LaMaitresse Avatar

1. The whole Tom Ford line, I love it and can’t find a dupe for it. Don’t care if he if he starts charging $150.00 a lipstick, the dogs will have to find employment lol!
2. Diorshow Lash Primer, in my opinion, the best on the market. I have tried Lancôme, Chanel, Benefit (ugh what a waste of money), Givenchy, Nyx( another colossal disappointment), nothing makes my lashes look like falsies like Dior!
3. Kevyn Aucoin lip pencils, just beautiful and neutral and last the whole day.

Cle de Peau Silky cream foundation- absolute perfection, looks like perfect skin, goes on with minimum effort, and lasts all day
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer- nothing covers my undereye darkness & fine lines in ONE step like this stuff does, lasts until you take it off too!
Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Smoky Eyes Pencil- Goes on smoothly, you have a minute to smudge it if you wish, & stays on all day without smearing or creeping, this pencil is the basis of my daily eye ‘look’ be it a simple kitten flick on the upper lid only or a full on dramatic smoky eye. My favorite colors to bring out the the green in my hazel eyes are black violet, gunmetal, and smoky black. OH, and these do not bother my contact lenses in any way.

BECCA Backlight Priming Filter

Amaterasu Powder Foundation… niche Canadian brand, but my daily foundation and even my brutally honest 15 yo says I look poreless when I wear it!

MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural (is MAC “high end”?)

If MAC doesn’t count, I’ll go with BITE beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick.

i already miss the Diorskin Nude Hydrating concealer because they have discontinued it. It was the only concealer that I can use for my dry under eyes. I have a little bit left in the tube that i have and I am scrambling to find a replacement concealer that won’t settle in my fine lines and won’t make my under eyes look dry before I run out of the Dior one. If you have any recommendations, they would be greatly appreciated!! I have tried Urban Decay naked concealer, Bare Minerals Serum concealer, Too Faced Born This Way, By Terry Densiliss, Kat Von D Creme concealer, and Tarte Shape tape…so far all of these either do not have enough coverage or make my under eyes look like i am 68 instead of 36 🙁 Please help

Audrey Avatar

I like the Clarins concealer and it has a silent but strong following. I have dry undereyes and enjoy the Too Faced Born This Way concealer. However, that has a strong coconut scent.

keisha Avatar

Thank you so much for your response! I think I may try the Clarins concealer. I have the Too Faced one and it didn’t have a lot of coverage, however, I believe that if I layer a good corrector underneath, this may get it to work for me better.

keisha Avatar

i got so caught up talking about the Dior concealer that I left out the other two products, LOL! They are Chanel Rouge Coco shine lippies and Benefit They’re Real mascara 🙂

Lesley Avatar

1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
2. Moonplay Cosmetics Strobeoscope Powder in Vow–such a beautiful pinky peach highlighter with the most microfine glitter. Love!
3. Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Contour Palette

Guerlain Meteorites (pressed and/or pearls) – still my favorite luxury product for every reason; Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer and Lancome Teint Idole Foundation!
