Tom Ford Martin & Deveren Boys Lip Colors Reviews & Swatches
Martin
Tom Ford Beauty Martin Lips & Boys Soft Matte Lip Color ($36.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a brighter, pinky-red with a natural sheen. It had subtle, cool undertones, but it was lighter than most reds yet deeper than reddish-fuchsia kind of shades, too. I’d consider this a tricky shade to classify!
The texture was smooth, velvety, and comfortable to apply as it glided across my lips with ease but didn’t feel traditionally creamy or emollient–had the glide of a silicone-based primer. It had semi-sheer coverage, which was as intended, that was buildable to medium coverage. The product applied evenly and didn’t catch on imperfections on my lips. It had a near weightless feel that was neither drying nor hydrating over the four hours it lasted for.

The Soft Matte finish is supposed to have a "veil of sheer" color with a "powdery, velvety finish." Most shades had sheer to medium coverage that was buildable to medium to semi-opaque coverage. The texture felt velvety, lightweight, and thin, though it didn't feel clingy, and glided easily across my lips. The major downside was that it wasn't the most flattering on, so sometimes the color didn't look as even as it could or it accentuated lip lines/caught on lip texture. The wear varied between three and five hours, while the formula felt lightly hydrating.

Deveren
Tom Ford Beauty Deveren Lips & Boys Soft Matte Lip Color ($36.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a medium, dusty pink with strong, warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-sheer to medium, buildable coverage with a smooth, lightly emollient texture that was weightless and comfortable to apply and to wear.
It had more slip than most of the shades in the Soft Matte range, though it was definitely more velvety in its glide compared to the original Lip Color formula. The color applied evenly, but there was a touch of product that sank into my deeper lip lines; it wasn’t enough to be noticeable in person. It lasted nicely for four hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Deveren is such a *perfect* slightly dusty rose, that even though I have Bare Minerals XOX, I could certainly see myself getting this one anyway. XOX has a weird laydown on my lips, showing off dry patches that I didn’t know existed. Yep, after exfoliating, for that matter! Deveren may need to become mine. ?
Deveren is a gorgeous, everyday shade.
I almost didn’t look at this review because I thought these were dark shades, but they are actually both very pretty everyday shades. Deveren is especially tempting, though I’m wondering if it’s too close to Guerlain Rouge G #06, which I already own.
