Tom Ford Soleil et Lune Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Soleil et Lune (02)
Tom Ford Beauty Soleil et Lune (02) Eye Color Quad ($88.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a new, limited edition quad that features a pale beige, rosy bronze, pewter, and muted green. It’s an unusual color story compared to what we often see during the holiday season.
It features the brand’s more gel-powder hybrid formula, so the eyeshadows have smooth, denser consistencies with minimal to no powderiness but are better with a moderate hand. They can be used wet or dry, but all four shades had good coverage applied dry with a brush. What I like about the formula is that it tends to meld with skin after a few minutes, so the powder eyeshadows look very smooth and seamless on.

LELimited Edition. $90.00.
Soleil et Lune #1
Soleil et Lune #1 is a pale beige with warmer undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff applied dry and opaque coverage applied with a dampened brush. The eyeshadow had a smooth, firmer texture, though not stiff, that had no powderiness or fallout during application. It applied evenly and blended out easily along the edges. The color lasted nicely for eight and a half hours before fading slightly on me.

Soleil et Lune #2
Soleil et Lune #2 is a light, rosy bronze with warmer undertones and a metallic sheen. It had opaque color coverage applied wet or dry, though the dampened application yielded a slightly more metallic finish and a richer base color. The consistency felt smooth to the touch, dense without becoming stiff or too thick in the pan, and was easy to work with on bare skin. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Soleil et Lune #3
Soleil et Lune #3 is a medium, grayish pewter with subtle, warmer undertones and a bright, metallic finish. It had good color payoff applied dry, but it appeared noticeably lighter than when it was applied with a dampened brush, which gave it a grayer hue and less warmth, though the actual coverage wasn’t that far apart (how much skin you can see through it).
It had a smooth, denser texture that wasn’t too thick or heavy, as it was just firm rather than stiff/cream-like, so it picked up well with brushes and blended out nicely without any powderiness or fallout. I felt like this had some larger sparkle, though, and it tended to look more blended along the edge in person (as it caught the light) than in still photos. This shade stayed on well for eight hours before fading slightly.

Soleil et Lune #4
Soleil et Lune #4 is a faded, light-mediumg reen with warmer undertones and cooler overtones–it seemed almost bluish in the sheen but warmer in the base color. The eyeshadow had a smooth, denser consistency that wasn’t powdery but remained blendable and melted against my skin for a really seamless finish. It had good pigmentation applied dry, but it darkened noticeably when applied with a dampened brush, and it was more intense with slightly higher coverage as well. It lasted well for eight hours before there was any sign of fading.

This is so airy and lovely – really looking forward to picking this up.
Love your eye look!! And I NEED Estee Lauder Knockout Nude
Looks nice!
…and coordinates perfectly with those earrings! 😉 🙂
Christine, your eyelook is so shimmery and lovely!
I love this as a winter combination, especially on brown eyes!
Agree, Tessa! BTW, I LOVE your hair color! Back to the quad, I have reddish-brown eyes and I think this would work wonderfully for me.
It’s so brilliantly icy, yet still has a little tiny bit of warmth to it that it indeed does meld together seamlessly! Love that about it so much. If I hadn’t just very recently came into possession of a slew of gorgeous green e/s’s this would be coming home with me!
Love this quad and your look is just perfect.
As someone said earlier, when you posted the quick preview of these, this really does look more like a spring-time palette. I’m glad it rated well because at Tom Ford prices ($115 in Canada) it ought to. And at that price, I’ll content myself with dupes. If someone gave this to me, I’d be delighted but 4 shadows for $115 plus tax is just too expensive.
Ugh love. Need this and the new creme eye duo in fleur. Do you know when this goes live??
I’m not sure!
Available now at Neiman Marcus. Call from TF rep @ Neiman’s Newport Beach CA
This beautiful quad is one of the nicest I have seen from TF for a long time. It is gorgeous and every shade works well, either alone or in combination with the others. I think it would suit a lot of varied skin tones too. Perfect for day or night. Love it.
Your eye look is simply stunning Christine.
Glorious, you and the quad. Lol, I have 3/4 duped by SG, minus that gorgeous rosy bronze. I never thought I even liked shadow in that family, but that hit on the inner center of your lid is EVERYTHING, and totally makes the look. It’s so refined, professional, and understated.
That is such a soft and flattering look on you. It doesn’t need anything else—just let the delicate, crystalline tones speak for themselves.
So smooth, creamy eye look! Excellent!
