Tom Ford Last Dance Eyeshadow Quad
Tom Ford Last Dance Eyeshadow Quad ($80.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a mix of gold, green, and a pop of glittering blue. Overall, all four shades had good or better color payoff, wore for eight hours (the glitter shade had fall out), and were easy enough to use. I wish the two more satin-like shades had a slightly less dusty consistency.
Last Dance #1 is a pale, buttery yellow with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had good pigmentation with a soft, smooth texture that wasn’t too firm or too soft and was easy to work with on the eyelid. This shade wore well for eight hours before creasing. Cle de Peau Champagne Supernova #1 (PiP, ) is darker (95% similar). Dior Grand Bal #4 (PiP, ) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (95% similar). Lancome Filigree (PiP, $19.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Disney by Sephora Sand in the Glass (LE, ) is less shimmery (95% similar). bareMinerals Aspire (P, ) is warmer (95% similar). Viseart Alexandre Trois (P, ) is darker, more muted (95% similar). Guerlain Ors et Merveilles #3 (LE, ) is more shimmery (95% similar). Urban Decay Bathwater (LE, $19.00) is more muted (95% similar). NARS L'Amour, Toujours L'Amour #2 (DC, $25.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Too Faced Nectar (PiP, $16.00) is darker (90% similar). Viseart Champagne (PiP, ) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (90% similar). theBalm #41 (P, $6.50) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty The Dreamer #3 (PiP, ) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Smashbox Fortune (LE, ) is more shimmery, lighter, brighter (90% similar). Natasha Denona Halo (PiP, $29.00) is more shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Gucci Beauty Tuscan Storm #1 (DC, ) is lighter (95% similar). LORAC Sand (LE, $19.00) is lighter (90% similar). NARS Joie (LE, $19.00) is warmer (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Lights On (LE, ) is less shimmery (85% similar). NARS Let It Whip (LE, $19.00) is darker, more muted (85% similar). Last Dance #2 is a muted, medium-dark olive green with warm, brown undertones and a satiny sheen. It had nice pigmentation with a lightly dry, dusty consistency that tended to sheer out when applied but was very blendable. I noticed slight fading after eight hours of wear. bareMinerals Elitist (PiP, ) is more shimmery (95% similar). Clarins Forest #1 (LE, ) is darker (95% similar). Clinique Cocoa Pop (P, $17.00) is less shimmery, cooler (95% similar). bareMinerals Couture (PiP, ) is more shimmery, darker (95% similar). MAC Olive Blend #2 (LE, ) is less shimmery (90% similar). Dior Bonne Etoile (384) #3 (LE, ) is darker, warmer (90% similar). KVD Beauty Disintegration (DC, ) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Sumptuous Olive (P, $17.00) is lighter (90% similar). Make Up For Ever I628 Reptile (DC, $21.00) is more shimmery, cooler (85% similar). NARS Submissive (DC, $25.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). Smashbox Moss (LE, ) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). Tarte Bedazzled Spruce (LE, ) is darker (85% similar). Chanel Noir Supreme #1 (PiP, ) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (80% similar). Hourglass Deep Olive (PiP, ) is more shimmery, darker, cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Last Dance #3 is a muted, medium-dark blue with subtle, cool undertones and a glittering, metallic finish. It had a lot of chunky glitter/sparkle, which gave it a very reflective finish on the lid, but it was harder to work with it as it would apply in chunks rather than really smoothly. I would consider using this with a slightly dampened brush to minimize fall out (in the same vein, an adhesive base would be necessary to control fall out over time). The color lasted for eight hours, but it had some fall out. The difference in thickness of the product made it harder to blend it with the other shades (which had a thinner consistency). Sydney Grace Splendor (P, $8.00) is darker (95% similar). Dose of Colors Teal Me More (P, $20.00) is darker (95% similar). ColourPop Antimatter (P, $4.50) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). ColourPop On One (LE, $4.50) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Viseart Poseidon (GPV2 #9) (P, ) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Sydney Grace Splendor (DC, $8.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (90% similar). Urban Decay Plunge (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery, darker (95% similar). Natasha Denona Aqueous (261M) (LE, $29.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty TFX17 (LE, $36.00) is less shimmery, lighter (85% similar). MAC Bikers & Babes (LE, ) is lighter (85% similar). Urban Decay Crux (DC, $20.00) is lighter, more muted (90% similar). Revlon Neptune Star (LE, $4.99) is darker (85% similar). Gucci Beauty Iconic Ottanio (DC, $37.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). ColourPop Krinkle (LE, $6.00) is less shimmery, lighter, more muted (80% similar). Terra Moons Stormy (DC, $6.25) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Last Dance #4 is a muted, dark olive green with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had good color payoff, but it was easily diffused and sheered out; it always looked a little faded and softer applied than it did in the pan. On me, the color wore well for eight hours. Chanel Verde (18) (LE, $30.00) is lighter (95% similar). YSL Indie Jasper #4 (LE, ) is more shimmery, darker (95% similar). Tarina Tarantino Wonderful #2 (DC, ) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). Chanel Affresco #9 (LE, ) is cooler (90% similar). Urban Decay Hot Box (LE, $19.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Stila Seaweed (LE, $18.00) is lighter, more muted (90% similar). ColourPop Plaid (LE, $6.00) is darker (85% similar). Too Faced Punk (PiP, $16.00) is less shimmery, cooler (85% similar). LORAC Blackout (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery, cooler (85% similar). NARS Shade V (LE, $25.00) is darker (85% similar). NARS Night Porter (DC, $25.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Guerlain Khaki Mono (07) (P, $34.00) is lighter (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

I purchased this along with Honeymoon when they were released. I love them both! i don’t get why TF doesn’t make all his quads in the same formula like Honeymoon and Nude Dip. I love the look you did! So gorgeous! I’m copying it today! 😀
Thanks, Nicole! 🙂 So glad you got yours!
This was the quad I was most interested in. I saw this in store, and zero’d in on the teal and green shades, and while they were beautiful, wasn’t sure about the quality of the glittery teal, so was waiting for your review. I think with primer, the issues can be fixed or greatly improved, but $80 is still a lot, could get a Viseart for that. For teals, my beloved $5 Colour Pop Coconut sets the standard for pigmentation and wear time. And I have an entire drawer full of olive green shadows, but this quad is luring me in, with its great color combo, will think about it. If it’s permanent, I will eventually find some promo/deal to get the price down. And LOVE the eye look you did!
Thank you, Katherine! A good primer or adhesive base should help with the glittery shade.
That enchanting blue seems an odd colour to put in this palette of otherwise neutral shadows but, wow, is it beautiful and makes this entire palette something I’d really love to get my hands on
This was the most eye-catching of the quads to me – I think it’s as you’ve mentioned, the contrast of the blue with the neutral shades.
It might just be my opinion, but I don’t know why they included that blue shade there. It doesn’t seem to fit in with the olives. I can’t see this being versatile when it comes to creating looks.
I know you made a intro to Tom Ford post, but if you had to recommend TF palettes for deeper skins, which ones would you suggest?
Haven’t tried that many of the permanent quads, unfortunately, so it would be hard for me to say. In general, I don’t feel comfortable recommending any of the quads with the glittery shade – they tend to fall short. I think the only one that was of the regular formula but didn’t fall short was Cocoa Mirage (no glitter shade).
Despite this not being an A- or better, it sure makes for an absolutely stunning eye look! Very unique color pairing, too. Makes me want to hit my stash up for some dusky olives, butter yellow and uber-shimmer slightly teal blue! Not even sure I have all of those, but maybe? ?
I bet you do! If not… mix/layer what you have 😉 A lighter beige-brown over a richer olive or muted green!
Just checked and (re)found UD Brokedown, CP Plaid and MAC Vicuna as well as a butter yellow shade in a holiday WnW 8 pan palette, plus UD Madness, of which I now have 1 pan, soon to be 2! This *may* do it!
Dupeable.
True!
That quad came together beautifully on your eye! I’m thinking of dupes to play with.
I am certain you have plenty o’ dupes to try it with!
#3 Is beautiful!!!
It is a pretty shade!
Your eye look is a-maz-ing! I love this quad’s color combo.
Thanks, Rachel! 🙂
This color palette is really interesting and unique. I think it’s worth picking up for me based on that and the B+ review.
Enjoy, J!
I think this is an interesting color combination, and the look you did with it is really gorgeous, Christine. If it was a bit better performing or a bit less expensive, I would consider purchasing it. I still want it, but $80 is a lot for four eyeshadows in a palette. I guess I wouldn’t balk at $20 for a single, but, if these colors were singles, I’d only purchase #3 and #4, and use them with shades I already have (like Alexandre Trois and I628 Reptile).
If the glitter eyeshadow stayed on really well on its own, it’d be more compelling, I think, but it’s hard to get excited about something that isn’t quite perfect across the board at this price!
this is my favorite of the new quads….looks super on you
Thanks a lot, Mish-mash!
Okay, this palette suprised me. I LOVE it! Your eyes look phenomenol!
Thank you, Lisa!
That blue is so pretty! I love how you put it over the center, along with the eyeliner on the lower lash line. It’s a great way to show how you can bring a pop of color into an otherwise neutral eye. Beautiful!
Aw, thanks Pami!
I just adore the colour combination of this quad and I would use every single colour – not often I can say that either. All the colours are so beautiful. I wish it had a better rating for the price, but it is still glorious. That eye look you have done is fabulous. Love it all.
Do you think you would have been really tempted if it had performed well on all the shades, Genevieve?
Hi Genevieve, if you think this palette might work for you, might you be close to a store to have it applied? It may be a good investment and I think it got a solid rating. Honeymoon might work well for me but I hesitate to buy it without having it applied, despite the A rating. Give it a try and let us know what you think!!
Based on the color combination alone, I really like this quad. The quality of the last two colors is a bit off putting, though, considering the price.
I have actually had VERY good luck with all the quads with the glitter color because I always apply them to the lid with my finger. When used that way they totally go on like a creamy foiled shadow with glitter and I don’t have a fallout problem at all! Hope that helps someone!!!
The teal blue is really what makes the set, which would otherwise be a pretty standard set of shades. An $80 palette has to be an A+ for me to consider it, but it is a pretty look.
I really like the Olive green one, It looks like a nice palette, and the blye gives it a bit lifr, but it’s still an easy pass for me.
Stunning, stunning, stunning! Your eye look pushed me over the edge, I’d definitely like to have this quad.
I have this one but am debating on returning it. Even with a tacky base and a dampened brush I have fall out from the teal shade. It’s too bad because the color is beautiful but I like sparkle on my eyes and not all over my face. I’m loving honeymoon though.
ah, number 4!
I’m in love with the color combination, but I think I’ll have to try for dupes at this price point. If I’m spending that kind of money, I don’t want any fuss in application or wear. I also love the look you put together!
Such a beautiful makeup !
Hi! Please, could you tell me if the green colour is a flattering one to wear over the entire upper lid by itself? Maybe too dark? Maybe ok to get a smokey green eye?
I much appreciate your opinion.
I follow you, though I do not usually participate on web sites.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards.
María.
I think it could be used all over the lid, Maria! 🙂
