Revlon Toasting Glasses, Chocolate Luster, Glistening Purple Melting Glass Shine Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Toasting Glasses (009)
Revlon Toasting Glasses (009) Super Lustrous Melting Glass Shine Lipstick ($9.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a soft, muted plum with warm, brownish undertones and a luminous finish–very faint pearl and lots of shine. The texture was smooth, creamy, and skated easily across my lips as the formula felt like it melted against the warmth of my lips.
It looked more slippery than it felt, though it had moderate slip overall. It had good color payoff in a single layer, which applied evenly to my lips and didn’t emphasize my lip texture. It stayed on nicely for three and a half hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview
$9.99/0.15 oz. - $66.60 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "brilliant color with major payoff" with an "amazingly buttery feel that instantly melts onto your lips for glass-like shine." The coverage was more medium to semi-opaque, often buildable to a minor degree, so I don't know that I'd call it "major payoff," the coverage was noticeable and allowed for real differentiation from shade to shade as they weren't so sheer that they ran together.
The consistency has an incredibly creamy, smooth feel that definitely melts on the lips but seems to "set" subtly, which seemed to tamp down the slip slightly, though it was still moderately emollient on my lips. I'd recommend being more conscious of using one layer or so as it can be easy to over-apply due to how much it feels like it's melting against one's lips.
The finish was definitely glass-like; very shiny and gave the illusion of volume to my lips. I found that there was some color that settled into lip lines or caught on minor imperfections with some shades, though the shine made it harder to notice in person. I imagine if you like grab-and-go color that's glossy with medium coverage or greater color that's easy to apply and re-apply, this formula could be a match.
The formula had a subtle, sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste. The biggest "con" to the formula was the packaging, which was industrially-wrapped with a very tacky sticker that was not just difficult to remove to open the lipstick to begin with but difficult to get all of the tackiness off. I'd recommend using a sharp knife/blade (safely!) to cut across the sticker, then twist the cap off rather than removing the sticker at all.

Chocolate Luster (010)
Revlon Chocolate Luster (010) Super Lustrous Melting Glass Shine Lipstick ($9.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a muted, medium brown with subtle, warm undertones and barely-there gold pearl throughout a glossy, cream finish. It had medium coverage, which didn’t build up far beyond that, that did not apply as evenly as other shades in the line-up. In person, the shiny finish distracted from the unevenness, but the shine wore down after an hour or so of wear.
The texture was creamy and felt like it melted on my lips during application, so it was very comfortable to work with but had a fair amount of slip. It wore well for three and a half hours (though the shine wore down after an hour or two) and was hydrating over time.

Glistening Purple (011)
Revlon Glistening Purple (011) Super Lustrous Melting Glass Shine Lipstick ($9.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark purple-plum with neutral-to-cool undertones and a high-shine finish. It had medium color coverage in a single layer, which didn’t build up beyond that. I think it looked good applied and looked almost like a stain with how seamless it applied, but it wasn’t nearly as pigmented as described.
The texture was smooth, creamy, and melted readily as it was applied to my lips, so it was easy to over-apply (just be aware when applying). This shade lasted well for three and a half hours (though the shine was less noticeable after an hour) and felt moisturizing while worn.

Toasting Glasses will be mine! I love shades like this that are somewhere between a nude and a MLBB color. And this one delivers!
Glistening Purple is also quite lovely! But I think it’s a little too close to my natural lip color. My lips are lighter than that by a little, but definitely about that level of purple.
I really love the Glistening Purple!
Glistening Purple is a much nicer and more wearable shade for me than the name led me to believe. I just wish it lasted a bit longer.
I was hoping Chocolate Luster was going to be better, but it seems to look OK from a distance. I’m undecided on that one. I love how Glistening Purple gives the light hint of a that cool, dark, plummy purple.
I have, and absolutely adore, all 3 of these (along with several others), and find them so versatile. Not only are they a nice alternative to a sticky gloss, they pair nicely with liquid matte lipsticks. I’ve been playing around with different combinations (since there’s not much else to do…), and not only do the make the liquid lipsticks more comfortable, they don’t “lift” them the way a balm or gloss often does. I’ve also been playing around with altering the shades of different lipsticks, bullet & liquid, which has also been fun.
The one thing some may find a bit off-putting is the scent. While it’s quite pleasant, and likely from the oils used, there is an obvious, strong cocoa butter scent. I personally don’t mind strong fragrance/scent in my products, as I’m not sensitive at all, I know it can be a deal-breaker for some. Also, while I think the component is quite nice (it snaps securely!), the security sticker is a bit of a pain to remove, and some adhesive residue may be left behind…
Thanks so much for mentioning the scent! (Fortunately, I like cocoa butter scent, so I’m personally good.)
Chocolate Luster you have broken my heart! Not the best rating….I love your eye look Christine. Very pretty with this lipstick.
Wondering how close Toasting Glasses is to my long-discontinued and beloved Colorburst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle… it looks very close!
