Shiseido VisionAiry Lipstick debuted in late 2018 when Shiseido relaunched their makeup range, and it was a great formula then, but it wasn’t in the review budget to pick up the whole line at the time. As I reviewed the new shades in the Hourglass’ Confession Lipstick range, I was reminded of this formula in particular, so when Saks’ ran their 25% off on beauty promo, I picked up shades I didn’t have (there’s still two that are in the range that I don’t have). Here are swatches! 🙂

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Oooooh, sleeping dragon is really something! It reminds me of MAC Chili a little, which is one of my all time faves

I’m interested in these (and also in Shiseido’s “new” concealer). I was a bit disappointed when they discontinued their earlier line of very lovely (and quite pricey) lipsticks but I did get one and love it. Are these lipsticks matte? They look sort of matte in the tubes but I’m hoping they’re a bit glossy or satin-y. There are some very lovely shades here.

They’re a bit self-setting in that some shine seems to go away as the gets tackier within a couple of minutes (all swatches are after 2 minutes). Some retain more of a sheen after that “set” but some shades look more semi-matte (like Cyber Beige). It’s not a full dry down like a traditional, matte liquid lipstick, though. Hourglass’ Confessions retain more shine on average!

Ooh-la-la, I love the looks of these! Some notable favorites are: Bullet Train, Pink Dynasty, Firecracker, Sleeping Dragon, Volcanic and J-Pop. I probably don’t need Firecracker, but man, what a gorgeous red!

I love the look of shiseido packaging! I tend to like the more mauve/berry family, so I’m not seeing anything here calling out to me. Sleeping Dragon is my favorite in the bunch!

These look really beautiful and I’m strangely attracted to warmer tones here which are not usually my choices: sleeping dragon and woodblock. I think the pinks look really strong; pigmented and rich, not pasty and wishy washy. Overall a beautiful moist looking finish without sacrificing pigmentation. They strike the right balance.
