Rare Beauty Love Soft Pinch Liquid Blush Review & Swatches
Rare Beauty Love Soft Pinch Liquid Blush ($20.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a deep, reddish-copper with moderate, warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. It was richly pigmented to the point where a little went a long way, and those who tend who aspire for sheer coverage may find it more challenging just learning to work with this product. Those who need or desire higher coverage will like how easy it is to achieve that result.
It had a very lightweight, thin, and emollient consistency that felt a bit like a serum, which made it seem thinner and even lighter than most liquid blushes. The color slid readily across my skin for even, diffused results when used with fingertips or a synthetic brush. The product worked well over bare skin as well as over foundation, but you’ll want to work very quickly with this product–one cheek at a time!–as it was quick to set and became very difficult to move/blend from there (which resulted in lifting of foundation if applied over a base). I preferred using a synthetic brush as I felt it gave me more time to work than a fingertip, though. This shade lasted nicely for nine hours before showing signs of fading.

The blush is supposed to have "long-lasting color pigments" that last "all-day" where "a little goes a long way." That being said, they also say it "blends and builds beautifully," though when one looks at the "how to" instructions, I could see that being achievable as they actually say to remove excess and then use one or two dots of product on each cheek. The line-up has includes four shades in a true, flat matte finish and four shades in a lightly, dewy finish.
Like a lot of the liquid products in the brand's range, they have a lot more slip and feel more serum-like, but a little did go a long way with respect to pigmentation. First and foremost, to control application, I would recommend dotting (lightly!) once or twice per cheek but I would work one cheek at a time, especially with the matte finish. I also felt using a sponge or brush worked well for diffusing and spreading about the blush better than fingertips when working over a base as fingertips seemed to leave slight imprints and seemed more prone to lifting up product.
When in doubt, use the least amount possible! I liked dabbing a bit on the back of my hand and using a fluffy, duo-fiber brush to apply to cheeks, which gave me a better diffusion with less chance of lifting up base product. This method worked best with the dewier finish blushes as there was enough playtime, but the matte blushes dried down faster and I had to use more product to keep it malleable on the back of my hand. The dewy finish shades have a light sheen but dry down enough that they don't slide around during wear. The matte shades fully dry down.
They wore between eight and nine hours on me before showing signs of fading. Though I haven't been able to find a clip I can reference specifically to it, I've had multiple readers state that the brand owner (Selena Gomez) has mentioned that the packaging was designed to be easier to open. I found that to be true of the flattened, knob-like tops found on the liquid blushes, as it took little pressure to twist open.

the sidebar ad has the video about Selena’s commitment to raise X million dollars for mental health access. maybe that’s the way to do a charity tie-in. Set a goal and track the progress. it’s a lot more tangible than y percent of sales. she seems quite sincere and smart. As to this shade, which would be my pick, the SG and CP dupes should do it. Oh, and anyway, Ms CM taught me to stick with powders!
This is such a gorgeous color for fall!
Oh my, I’m feeling nothing but pure love for Love! This shade is absolutely perfect for fall. Plus, I believe it’s a gorgeous option for us medium up through deep skintone ranges.
Likely too deep for me unless I can manage to apply very sheer. More likely, get it for my daughter. This is a perfect shade for her and she much prefers matte cheek products, except highlighter, of course. Sometimes I can hardly believe she is my daughter. I mean matte cheeks? I never met a luminous blush I didn’t love. This is the perfect fall colour. She doesn’t love liquid products but this might be a good way to help her get started using them. She likes Selena except for that whole Justin Bieber thing!!
