Editor's Review

Urban Decay Fireball 24/7 Razor Sharp Liquid Eyeliner ($22.0000 for 0.07 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium-dark red-copper with iridescent pink sheen. It's a really cool shade, but it could use more pigmentation, which is the major downside. The thinner consistency was a little watery and took longer to dry, though once it did, it wore for ten hours on me. MAC Copper Field (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery, more muted, cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Sistas (LE, $7.00) is less shimmery, darker, more muted (90% similar). Zoeva Opulence (P, $7.50) is less shimmery (95% similar). ColourPop Get Lucid (P, $7.00) is less shimmery (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Claims / Ingredients

Liquid Liner was one of our original color products, and we’re always reinventing and improving it. Since we can never get enough color, we also wanted to expand our range with more dimensional shades and multiple finishes. The name comes from one of our photographers, who used to look in the lens and whisper, “Ooh, that’s razor sharp.” We thought the delivery was funny, but it also sounded like a good name for liquid liner. The precision brush really lives up to the moniker—it’s practically impossible to mess up. Still perfecting your technique? After giving the bottle a good shake, lean your elbow on a stable surface to keep your hand steady while you apply. Then, just draw down into your lashes so the upper part of the line is sharp and even.

Fireball is such a beautiful color - extremely metallic and duochrome with a pink/peach shift that looks great with green eyes, especially. I have “mature” eyes (45+, but still immature!) and they are both deep-set and very hooded. Because of that, I really need a very fine brush when it comes to eyeliner. This has a super-small brush that’s not too short to apply to deep-set kids, and not so long that you lose control of the wand. It dries very, very quickly and stays put, and isn’t irritating, which is rare for a metallic liner (I have crazy sensitive lids). I find this so much easier to use than the Colourpop Jelly Much in Once and Floral, which is a similar pink/peach metallic but messy as heck to use and not as easy to control without a tiny brush. One star off for the price ($22 normally) versus the amount of product, which is .07 oz. [post-script: I just read that these are being discontinued! Sigh.]
