MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.

Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.

I loveee this color on my skin tone. It is the perfect lighter pink/plum color for me. It's fairly unique and completely wearable for everyday. It is a buildable color so you can wear it as sheer or as opaque as you want. Easy to apply

Good red but makes me look older than my age. it looks super nice on Christine but turned "brownish-red"on me (and brown has never been a good lip color for me). I'm NC 15- NC 20 with yellow undertone. overall, a great product especially for girls with pink/neutral undertones.

A great blue toned red with gold micro-shimmer. It makes your teeth really white because of the blue in it, but because of the gold it makes it very wearable for a lot of people. I don't like frosty lipsticks, and I don't own any other Frosts from MAC, but this is really pretty and it's hard to tell it's even a frost. It's quickly become one of my favorite red lipsticks.

I adore RiRi Woo's pigment; it's the perfect matte red color. RiRi Woo is very drying, however. Throughout the day, I need to reapply it multiple times also, but RiRi Woo is such a beautiful color; it's definitely worth it.

Naturally whenever someone as awesome as Hayley Williams does a collab with mac, I had to snatch this lipstick up as soon as possible. Although, the orange pigment is beautiful, the lipstick did leave more to be desired. I found that when first applying the orange didn't look as good as it could without a good layer of primer. As it dried, the pigment seemed to concentrate/saturate and become much more noticeable, so I had to take it off and then reapply it thinner. Sounds Like Noise is such a beautiful true orange, however it takes a few wears to feel out exactly the right amount of primer and lipstick to wear to look optimum, but ultimately I would buy Sounds Like Noise again.

I am loving MAC lipsticks every time I buy but usually I make it a point to really check the color, because it might match my skin tone. As for their matte collection its a total rager and long lasting it also doesn't dry the lips. Comparing to the cremesheen viand cremesheen is not that long lasting, you may want to re apply after an hour. As for satin viand, it is quite long lasting in the lips. The thing that i like about MAC lipsticks is its very affordable.

Its a beautiful wine red color but I was displeased to find that this color has been released by MAC just with a different name. I hate when companies release the same product labeled with a new name. Studded Kiss is an exact dupe of MAC's Fixed On Drama from the Retro Matte Collection and Dark Side. And Riri Hearts MAC Heaux might be another dupe. I have yet to swatch that one side by side with Studded Kiss but I assume its dupable too. I guess it will be years before I have to go out and buy another wine colored lipstick.

After having missed the boat with the last release of this gorgeous lip color, I thought I'd just have to let the idea go and either find a dupe or live without the perfect bright purple lipstick that I so craved. And then MAC heard my cries and released this into the permanent line! Huzzah! I picked it up today and immediately applied it in the car. And it's glorious. Even though it's a matte shade, it doesn't dry out my lips like their matte formula usually does. It's actually quite weightless and comfortable. It applies at full opacity with one swipe, but I have noticed that it is just ever so slightly patchy in the center of my bottom lip. I've not yet applied it over P+P Lip, however. I suspect it'll perform better over that. It's super long-lasting. I've gone through a bottle of water and a hot tea and while there is transfer, it doesn't migrate all over my mouth or look super-faded. It also does not feather, which is practically miraculous on me. I'm so glad I picked this up. Violetta was a touch too sheer for my liking - I need full coverage on my not-pigmented-at-all lips. So the re-launch of this amazing color is a godsend.

It's such an unique shade, but it suits me very well. The application is foolproof, it's a no-brainer - you don't need mirror to apply this. Too bad, it was LE. :-( I'm still hoping, that MAC repromotes this some day.

I wanted something discrete to wear for work and chose Brave. Almost the same color as my lips, but a bit rosier. Looks cute. Feels nice on lips, but if you have dry patches you should really use some exfoliator to keep product from build up there and looking weird.

One of the Lady GaGa shades, Made To Order is a frosted mauve gold that would be a YLBB shade (your lips but better) if you lived in the world of the glitterati. On light skin it has enough color to not look washed out. Applies evenly and is buildable to become really golden-frosty. A little less moisturizing than the rest of the line.

Just missed the season to be wearing PLINK! -- a frosty, beachy beige-pink. Lots of light beige pinks can look pasty or washed out on light skin. Plink is pink enough to look rosy but with the sandy shimmer that's fun in summer lip palettes. Goes on evenly, is buildable for a light kiss natural look or a frosty lip big sunglasses, big hat look.

Sequin is a fun shade for going a little sparkly without being loud about it. It's a mid-toned pink that is a little to the mauve side, but has a gllittery sheen to it. Kind of a YLBB (your lips but better) shade with some bling. Applies evenly and is long-wearing, although it's a little less moisturizing than some of the other MAC cream shades.

Craving is a lot more plum than pink on my light toned skin. Goes on easily and has long wear with moisture. A terrific day-to-evening shade, and perfect transition to the deeper plums of the autumn palette..

Crosswires is a lovely blood-orange shade of coral that can show as a light orange-red on light skin tones. With a little bit of satiny shimmer, it rings as a summer wear tone for me. Easy to apply and with a little stain that takes me through 5-6 hours.

Brave is a creamy light mauve that for fair skin tones is a YLBB (your lips, but better) shade. Applies easily, is moisturizing, and lasts about 4 hours on me. Could easily be used as a base to other colored glosses.

This amplified lipstick is full of colour. It's super flattering and works well with neutral makeup. The formula is creamy, moisturising and also long wearing. Overall, it is consistent with my experience of MAC lipsticks which are generally good quality.

This is probably one of my favourite MAC lipsticks! The colour is a flattering light to neutral pink and works as an every day colour. The formula is creamy and moisturising, leaving a nice sheen on the lips. It's not long wearing though (3 hours) , but that's not an issue for me personally.

I fell in love with Craving years ago. It's an Amplified Cream so the wear-time is pretty good and I don't find this drying on my lips. Such a pretty deep berry rose shade.

One of my very favourite MAC lipsticks. While I could wish that it wore a bit longer than it does, the lasting power isn't all that bad and it wears off nicely and evenly. Such a pretty, flattering colour.

This + a tan = summer. I love this lipstick, but it can emphasize lines on lips, at least for me. Leaves a stain which is hard to remove too. But a lovely color that is the right amount of brightness without stepping into the Candy Yum Yum area.

I bought two of this lipstick, because I honestly think I don't want to live without a backup! I've always loved reds, but the amount of pink in Love Goddess makes it quite special, in my opinion -- Not to mention this is one of the most long-wearing lipsticks I've owned! For those who couldn't get their hands on Love Goddess, NARS Luxembourg is a good alternative, in my opinion. :)

I don't have Ruby Woo but I am really starting to love matte lippies so when this restocked, I ordered it. I don't find it overly drying, even for a matte ( I use Chanel Rouge Allure Velvets, Rimmel London Kate mattes and Lime Crime Velvetines for comparison ) but I practice a pretty intensive regular lipcare routine to exfoliate, treat fine lines, hydrate, etc. I think that's the secret to successfully wear both mattes and the pale colors that show every little imperfection. Since it's well pigmented, I can get away with a little overdrawing so I'll likely use a lip brush for precision but even a quick application from the tube left a nice, clean edge. There are several color dupes for Ruby Woo but this one is as much about the formula and performance. I think it's worth splurging on if you normally buy drugstore formulas, and it's a smart all-season deep cool red to add to a higher end collection and won't underperform next to luxury brands.

I love this color! It is incredibly bright, so I like to keep things neutral everywhere else. I also find I get better wear if I use a lipliner beforehand.

I literally love this color! It is so beautiful on medium skin tones. I love the cremesheen formula because it is so moisturizing and smooth. I actually bought mine yesterday and fell in love with it when I tried it on in the store. However it did melt a little in the car ride home and the lipstick is really hard to open. I think I got a defective one. But I would still recommend this Mac lipstick to everyone due to the sheer formula that blends into your natural lip color.
