ColourPop No Shame Creme Gel Liner ($5.00 for 0.01 oz.) is described as a "saturated blackened violet." It's a muted, blackened plum with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture wasn't as creamy as other pencils in the range, though it wasn't dry and didn't tug on the lash line when I tried using it. It had semi-sheer pigmentation in one pass, and it was buildable to semi-opaque coverage, but it didn't layer as well as I had hoped (it almost lifts the color in places). The color wore well for eight and a half hours on me. The pot version is darker, richer. Stila Black Amethyst (P, $22.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). ColourPop No Shame (P, $7.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Ash Violet (DC, $16.00) is more shimmery, lighter (85% similar). MAC Nightcast (P, $17.00) is lighter (85% similar). Precision of a liquid with the ease of a gel based formula. Apply with a brush, we like a super fine, firm and synthetic angled brush. Dip tip of the brush, coat both sides – be careful not to pick up too much product! Work quickly, as the formula becomes transfer resistant once it dries. Do NOT leave opened for long periods of time or it will dry out and you will be sad. Be sure to close the lid tightly after each use.
