Natasha Denona Triochrome Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($27.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a new, cool-toned color story featuring mostly blues across three matte eyeshadows and two shimmer eyeshadows. The quality was consistent with Natasha Denona’s formulations, so if you’re a big fan of her formulas and love blue, it’s a nice pick! I did find the multichrome included to be a weaker multichrome, which some may prefer in terms of ease of incorporating it into a look, but those who have lots of multichromes from “indie” brands may find it lacking.

Voltaic (508CM) is a bright, cobalt blue with strong, cool undertones and a matte finish.
- Opaque pigmentation
- Smooth, finely-milled without being too powdery
- Applied evenly and blended out well

Formula Overview

The majority of the brand's eyeshadows are quite pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The eyeshadows have improved over time, particularly with respect to longevity (without a primer). The original formula often creased on me within seven to eight hours, whereas the more current formula wears eight to nine hours with fading (instead of full-on creasing). The more matte finishes tend to be a bit more velvety, substantial, and less dry/powdery compared to prior iterations.
The metallic finish is often the creamiest, slightly denser in feel, but has excellent pigmentation, adhesion, and blendability. The sparkling shades can have some fallout, depending on how they're applied and how sparkly they are, so they sometimes work better with fingertips or a dampened brush; they can also run sheerer compared to other finishes.
Cream-Powders are the more unique formulation and tend to have firmer, almost stiff, consistencies and more semi-opaque, watercolor-esque coverage. They are longer-wearing, but they can take a few uses to learn how to use. This formula has also improved compared to when it first debuted--it is a bit more yielding now.

Strike (509MC) is a multichrome with a blackened base that shifted from bluish-teal to muted purple to reddish0purple paired with a soft, metallic sheen.

Yes, it is definitely a very well curated, high quality blue quint. Unfortunately, there’s really only 3 usable shades for my eye color: Stratos, Strike and Aero. The two very cool-toned mattes would make my own eye color appear faded and washed out. That’s the problem with having blue-green or light hazel eyes, very bright, cold blues just look awkward.
Ditto! Those are the only three colors I would want in this palette. Nice collection though.
Strike and Arrow are my favorites. I would buy those separately but overall, I am not a huge blue lover. I always prefer blues that lean teal, swampy, silver or greyed out. Baby blue and darker blues are not my favorites although I know they are great with brown eyes. Stellar rating though. Will be nice for all the blue lovers out there.
I think this is really pretty, even though ND doesn’t have the best trichromes. Foiling them helps.

This blue themed mini palette is excellent quality – much better than I originally thought – although the matte blues don’t really appeal to me. I loved the teal shade – and it reminds me of your excellent Flying High shade from On the Horizons palette. The softer Aero shade is very pretty too.
I find this really pretty but I just need to be honest with myself and know in actuality I wouldn’t reach for it much.
So glad this got a great review Christine! I’ve been using mine with the mini Star palette and it’s so fun. Agree that Strike is more subdued than many indie duochromes, but it’s a fantastic one and done, without being over the top. The formulas are excellent and the blues are saturated, they actually show up well on my tan skin. If you like blue this is an excellent mini palette. 🙂
I looked this palette over and over in the dupes and I may actually have zero colors similar to any in the palette, hmmmm! Perhaps a purchase for 2024 😉
