Natasha Denona Glam (Dark) Face Palette Review & Swatches
Glam (Dark)
Natasha Denona Glam (Dark) Face Palette ($59.00 for 0.45 oz.) is a new (seemingly permanent!) eye and cheek palette. It included five eyeshadows–three mattes and two shimmers–along with a cream blush and powder highlighter. The eyeshadows and powder highlighter were lovely; pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing with only light fallout during application being noted with the shimmery eyeshadows. I found the cream blush texture to be harder to work with as it was drier and stiff, so this translated to a more challenging application that felt more limited.

Glam Dark (407KS)
Glam Dark (407KS) is a medium-dark brown with warmer, golden undertones and flecks of pink and gold micro-sparkle over a pearly finish. This shade appeared more satin-to-pearl in its sheen when applied to bare skin and would need to be applied with a dampened brush to yield a more metallic finish. The consistency was soft, smooth, and finely-milled but felt a little drier/thinner compared to most of the brand’s shimmers, so I had more issues with fallout during the initial application than is typical. It wore well for eight and a half hours but didn’t have further fallout issues.

Glam Dark (408CM)
Glam Dark (408CM) is a rich, yellowy medium-dark brown with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich pigmentation paired with a smooth, silky consistency that was blendable and not too powdery in the pan, so it didn’t sheer out too readily and wasn’t prone to fallout. The color showed signs of fading after nine hours of wear.

Formula Overview
-
The majority of the brand's eyeshadows are quite pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The eyeshadows have improved over time, particularly with respect to longevity (without a primer). The original formula often creased on me within seven to eight hours, whereas the more current formula wears eight to nine hours with fading (instead of full-on creasing). The more matte finishes tend to be a bit more velvety, substantial, and less dry/powdery compared to prior iterations.
The metallic finish is often the creamiest, slightly denser in feel, but has excellent pigmentation, adhesion, and blendability. The sparkling shades can have some fallout, depending on how they're applied and how sparkly they are, so they sometimes work better with fingertips or a dampened brush; they can also run sheerer compared to other finishes.
Cream-Powders are the more unique formulation and tend to have firmer, almost stiff, consistencies and more semi-opaque, watercolor-esque coverage. They are longer-wearing, but they can take a few uses to learn how to use. This formula has also improved compared to when it first debuted--it is a bit more yielding now.

Glam Dark (409CM)
Glam Dark (409CM) is a deep brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was slightly thinner and not quite as blendable compared to most of the brand’s matte eyeshadows, though it was still easy to work with and diffuse along the edges. It had opaque color payoff that lasted well for nine hours before fading visibly.

Glam Dark (410KS)
Glam Dark (410KS) is a bright, lighter rosy brown with warm undertones and an intense, sparkling and metallic finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, blendable consistency that felt lightweight, thin, and almost airy, but there was noticeable fallout during application. It was a shimmer I’d recommend applying with a dampened brush or a fingertip, though I still had light fallout with a fingertip as the softness of the texture made it easy to pick up too much product with a fingertip. It stayed on well for nine hours with light fallout over time.

Glam Dark (411CM)
Glam Dark (411CM) is a darker, reddish-brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out readily as the texture was soft, smooth, and finely-milled without being too powdery nor too firmly-pressed into the pan. It wore nicely for nine hours before fading noticeably.

Glam Dark (Cream Blush)
Glam Dark (Cream Blush) is a darker, reddish-copper base with flecks of gold micro-sparkle throughout. The texture was quite dense, thicker, and drier; it felt like a little like drying clay that had been compacted into a pan. I had the best luck using a synthetic, stippling brush roughly jabbed and swirled through the pan, which gave me an even, sheer layer of product that I could build up with two to three layers. The blush itself lasted for eight and a half hours on my skin before fading a bit.
Also, while fingertips picked up more coverage, the product did not want to transfer from fingertip to cheek readily, so it required more pressure that was more apt to disturb base layers and deliver an uneven result, which made using a brush the better bet.

Have to say I love this in action.. your bronzey eye look is gorg!
For once, no ptfe (aka Teflon) in the ingredients! I had to throw out a few Pat McGrath and Natasha Denona palettes because of it, so this is a good change and I might just pick the light version up.
What a beautiful compilation of colors all in one travel friendly palette! It will take Herculean effort on my part to NOT buy it. I do have all the luscious chocolate browns in last year’s CT Bejeweled palette and whatnot, but….
Quite shocked to find I have no dupes for any of the shimmer shades, no dupes for highlighter/cheek combo, and only one seriously near dupe for the leaning neutral chocolate (409cm).. from CP Flutter By palette.
I do have PMG xtreme mahogany.. dupe for 411cm, but I think this one is going to look different on me since it is not as dark nor as warm.
Iβm getting this palette. I thought I would easily be passing. I love the eye look Christine did and how subtle and glowing those shimmers are. I can do that.. even with these crepey eyes.
Lots to comment about this palette – love and love the shimmer shades – they are just gorgeous. And the mattes are really good too (wish there were more shimmers to mattes though).
I also wish there were names to the shades, to be honest, it tends to be quite confusing and annoying to have all these numbers….
As to the highlighter – gorgeous, but the cream blush is average.
As with the Tom Ford blush/highlighter and eyeshadow palette of a year or so ago, it makes more sense to just offer the eyeshadows OR the blush/highlighter because those shades are so much more harder to suit differing skintones.
I am so surprised the blush rated so low! I thought it would be closer to her cream blush from the Love face palette. But this isn’t the first review mentioning the blush was a bit dry, I’m curious whether it’s an issue with the shade or if the formula itself was changed. It’s a very pretty palette overall, just still doesn’t feel like a need for me. I may still go to Sephora and see if I can find it in person before making a final judgment call.
Good to know I’m not the only one! It’s a very different texture to me than her past releases of cream products.
Hey! Thanks for the review and your eye look is beautiful. Do you think the creme blush is prone to hard pan or drying out considering the texture it is currently in? Thanks
I am not sure, it’s too early to tell if it’s stable or not, but I definitely have concerns that it could dry out over time. I don’t think it will get hard pan, though.
This is supposed to arrive tomorrow and I can’t wait. The eye look you did is superb, I will copy! I like these type of palettes for travelling specifically and she usually does not disappoint.
I’ve seen many reviews on this palette, but no one has mentioned how little product are in the shadow pans. It’s less than her minis.
Bummed that these eye shadows totally blend into my complexion and disappear. No eye shadow at the end of the day. This palette wears like drug store eye shadows and blushes on me. Seems like the blush fades in about an hour. Her blushes usually last all day on me. I have almost all of Natasha Denona eye shadow and blush palettes but never had this kind of performance. Will be returned unfortunately.
Oh no!! π
Today I wore this palette with Hourglass eye shadow primer and the shadows still look great and so does the blush. I’m going keep testing it but I have to recant my statement because I spoke too soon.
I’m so glad to hear it has worked better with a different base!
This surprisingly not only looks like a good face palette for my skin tone, but one that can also create a cohesive look. I think it would work as an intro to the brand, and it would be cool to see her create more colorful versions. Might be picking this one up on sale ππ
Donβt need this, but oh what a palette for travel! This is right up my β signature lookβ alley. Maybe I can ask someone to give it to me for Christmas? π
